Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 926: Visiting An Old Friend [ 2 ]

Capítulo 926: Visiting An Old Friend [ 2 ]

Rael descended into the palace grounds, and the moment he did, Seryn immediately glanced over to him, his expression a little puzzled at first. Yet the moment he saw Rael’s face, his eyes widened.

“Aren’t you that guy who I traveled with all those years ago?” Seryn asked.

Rael raised a brow. “That’s how you remember me? Well, yeah, I am. I just thought you’d at least remember my name.”

“Masochist?” Seryn replied.

“Try again.”

“Peddler?”

“…”

“Wayfinder?”

Sure, he had called Rael all of these names before, but come on… At least remember the damn name.

“Ah, right. It’s Rael, isn’t it?” Seryn finally said.

Rael exhaled a relieved breath. “You remind me of that genie game I used to play online. It would try to guess shit but always ask the stupidest questions. Yeah… Well, I’m Rael. I’m glad you’re holding up so well up in here.”

Seryn pulled out a towel and wiped himself down. “I try to maintain my appearance, since I’ll one day be reunited with my wife.”

Bingo.

“What if I make that day today?” Rael asked, crossing his arms. “I have the ability to pull you back into your world, and all you’d need to do is say the word. After all, you did help me plenty in the past. The least I could do is bring you back and reunite you with your wife.”

With that offer on the table, Rael took a step back, observing Seryn. His expression was slightly conflicted, but more so out of disbelief. He didn’t believe that Rael could do something like that at first.

But then again, if just about anyone could come and go out of the Depths as they pleased, then they’d definitely have a way to bring someone out of this place too, wouldn’t they? He finally felt some hope… The first spark of hope in God knew how many years.

“Is that really possible?” he asked.

Rael nodded. “Yep. All I’d need is to see how your world looks. Oh, and you mentioned that you had a way to communicate with your wife. Is she still… you know?”

“She’s both loyal and alive,” Seryn replied with a slight frown. “As for anything else, I don’t care. We talk every morning. I keep telling her I’m close to escaping… But I am beginning to feel like she’s losing hope. After all, even I have lost a considerable amount of hope.”

“I see…” Rael mumbled, then sighed. “In that case, sit still for a moment.”

Before Seryn could say another word, Rael went ahead and tapped Seryn on the forehead. In the next instant, Rael found himself inside Seryn’s memories. But instead of going through that whole mind invasion process, Rael decided to just comb through the thousands of memories instead.

He could do so effortlessly, in the same way that he managed to control probabilities within his Prophetic Realm. The concept was the same, and he just imagined the memories as marbles that he could sort through.

In the end, he managed to find the memories regarding his old world, and after locking onto the location, Rael came back and gave Seryn a thumbs up.

“Ready to see your wife?”

Seryn paused for a moment. “May I say my goodbyes to the people of this land first? For one, Aria Draconia, the person who had brought me here, is like a sister to me. If possible, I’d love to take her out too.”

Rael recalled her name, but he also recalled her station.

“Isn’t she like the royal of this place? Why would she want to leave?”

He had some experience asking rulers to go home, as they always went ahead and refused.

Though…

“She always mentioned wanting to see the outside world,” Seryn replied. “Even though her position is so high and important, she never really liked it to begin with. That’s why I believe she’d come along. If not, then it’s fine. I won’t push her.”

Rael simply shrugged. If he wanted to do it, then he could. If Zarkul had some issues with him, he would’ve already shown up. Now that there were practically no more enemies in the universe, these guys didn’t need to worry about anything.

So with that in mind, Rael gave Seryn one more nod and gestured for him to lead the way. Seryn finished wiping himself down, and after changing his shirt, he went ahead into the palace. Rael followed after him.

There weren’t that many attendants, but as for those who were patrolling, they were slightly suspicious of Rael. Sure, he was just an ordinary, innocent-looking handsome man. But the way he carried himself made everyone subconsciously feel like they were beneath him.

That kind of arrogance stemmed from his strength, and with his years of experience backing him up, Rael was pretty much untouchable. Of course, that bit of fear they felt in the back of their minds didn’t allow them to even approach him.

So while he walked alongside Seryn, they just went back to doing their jobs.

After all, as suspicious as that man was, their minimum wage salary without bonuses made them unhinged. Someone was going to die? Would they still get paid? Yes? No problem then.

A couple minutes later, they finally stopped. Rael found himself in yet another beautiful rose garden, surrounded by several dozen cherry blossom trees. As if that wasn’t enough, there was also a beautiful wooden hut in the very center.

“She’s staying there,” Seryn said. “She likes a minimalistic life. Hence, she doesn’t really put much effort into her duties unless she’s called for something.”

Rael nodded. “Fair enough. To be fair, I’d be lazy too if I could.”

“Same…” Seryn mumbled under his breath, thinking that Rael wouldn’t hear. But he did, and although he didn’t comment on it, he could tell all this training had gotten to Seryn’s head.

Regardless of that though, the two of them approached the hut and then finally knocked on the door.
