Rael pouted and crossed his arms. He wasn’t really pissed, but he did want to explore a little. To be fair, the mountain was pretty large as is, so if anything, he could go down below, as there was a whole world there.
He was a little curious what was hiding there. Just then, he remembered a certain something.
“Wait… Did we leave Altros and Melissa unsupervised?”
Gaia nodded. “We left both of their versions unsupervised. Though, I had looked at the much weaker Altros earlier, and from the looks of things, he had befriended a decently powerful being, and now the two of them are exploring some kind of cultivation world. I believe he’s trying to get more powerful.”
Ah.
Right, the Grade 6 that just so happened to emerge and attack their world. Rael had almost forgotten about him.
“As for the other Altros?” he asked.
Gaia smiled. “The two of them are still sleeping. It looks like you’ve caused an even greater injury than you had expected. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had suffered some Soul Damage.”
Rael paused for a moment. “Speaking of… Don’t I deal Cosmic Damage? Does that mean I might’ve accidentally killed some version of Altros?”
Gaia let out a chuckle. “Cosmic Damage is similar to willpower. Once it detects your intent, it activates. If all you want to do is harm someone, it won’t harm every single version of them. So rest easy. Cosmic Damage and all sorts of other Supreme Damage Types like these aren’t stupid.”
With that, she went ahead and turned to Nyx before saying:
“Now let’s go up to the top and watch over Rael before he does something stupid, shall we?”
She let out a chuckle. “Obviously.”
With that, they basically grabbed him by the ear and brought him to the top of the mountain. There were much fewer people now, but for some reason, in the span of half an hour, more buildings had appeared.
Mainly those catered to guests. Since the three of them were the only guests here, Rael felt strangely welcomed. Not to mention, he was really in the mood to eat something delicious now.
However, right as he was about to go up to one of the shops and start eating, Rael spotted a powerful being sitting atop a rooftop and glancing down at the three of them. The being’s presence and overall power were identical to Isobel’s, which led Rael to believe that this might be yet another Ambassador.
It was an armored man, which already gave Rael the impression that this was some kind of edgelord. After all, it was hot as shit right now, even for him. To be wearing some kind of armor, one would either need to be disfigured or have some kind of armor kink.
Whatever the case was, Rael was sure this guy was a weirdo, so he decided to avoid him. Yet the moment Rael stepped into one of the restaurants and was prepared to take a seat, he was met with none other than that edgelord already waiting for the three of them in one of the seats.
Rael let out a sigh and glanced at the women around him.
“What do you guys reckon we should do? Talk to him or ignore him?”
“Ignore him,” Nyx said right off the bat.
Gaia thought about it for a little while, then let out a sigh. “I believe we should ignore him also.”
“Hmm. Ignoring him it is.”
With that, the three of them went to their own seats and were served the menu. There were lots of choices, and too little intent to actually choose between them, so Rael went ahead and bought the whole menu, thus allowing them to transfer to a much better table.
And yet, when Rael glanced back, he noticed that armored guy was still staring at them. Honestly, he didn’t believe in superstitions, but it did piss him off royally whenever someone stared so hard it was even ruining his appetite.
So after literally ten minutes of this mess, Rael decided to deal with it before the food came. Standing up, Rael went ahead and walked over to the table where the armored man sat, then sat down.
The armored man let out a chuckle from beneath his mask. Right off the bat, Rael heard the arrogance in his laugh, which practically made him want to stand up and go back. But for the sake of a good dinner, Rael narrowed his eyes at the man and said:
“Why are you stalking us?”
“Why not? It’s my first time seeing mortals in this realm,” he replied happily. “Also, you’re not like the other mortals. You’re strong, and that one woman with green hair is even stronger than me. Say, are you one of our newest recruits? Will you become an Ambassador like the rest of us?”
He was very talkative.
“Nope. Thanks for the compliments, though. Also, I’d appreciate it if you hopped on through the door and kindly fucked off. Your armor is shining all the light from the outside and blinding me. The stares also don’t really help me.”
The man chuckled once more. “I understand. However, since you’ve insulted me, there’s no way I can leave empty-handed. Spar with me. If you defeat me, then I shall leave you be and allow you to do whatever you want.”
“Does it matter if I win or lose?” Rael asked.
The man shook his head. “Not at all. All I want is the opportunity to fight you. I will naturally hold back as I don’t intend to kill you, but what do you say to a quick spar? Perhaps swords only?”
Rael thought it over for a moment, then let out a sigh. He really didn’t want this guy stalking him, so if a quick spar which he could throw would help, then Rael didn’t mind going through with it.
So with that in mind…
“Alright, let’s spar.”
