Extra's Supremacy: Rise of the Forgotten Background Character

Chapter 104: Never Trust Luck.

You know, out of kindness from one fellow transmigrator to another.

With those thoughts, I gathered my mana, pulling all three cards to hover in front of me. Their golden edges shimmered faintly, each one pulsing in sync with my heartbeat.

The shadowy bastard still lay crumpled near the edge of the cave, his form flickering between solid and smoke like even his existence was trying to glitch out of reality.

Behind me, I could sense Bearlo and Cedric had already reached Seraphina.

Good.

At least they were out of the way.

Now I can finish this properly.

Just then, I felt an ominous feeling.

Wait a minute—?

How did Bearlo and that annoying bastard get so much injured from such a weak bastard?

This shadowy mess was barely at Mid E-Rank.

And whether I wanted to accept it or not… that Cedric bastard was at Advanced E-Rank. Adding Bearlo who was at Mid E-Rank, they should have absolutely thrashed that bastard.

So, how the fuck did they lose?

No, more importantly, how the hell did I defeat it so easily?

Did I get so overpowered after my evolution?

… or maybe that benevolent lady luck was finally smiling at me.

Either way, I couldn't help the grin tugging at my lips.

It wasn't often the universe gave me something that didn't try to kill me.

I floated my three cards in front of me, their edges glimmering like blades of gold light. With a twist of my wrist, I began to rotate them, feeding mana into their cores, increasing their density to the absolute limit my control allowed.

I could feel the mana drain biting into me but it would be worth it, if it killed this bastard once and for all.

I unleashed the cards, sending them flying with The Tower effect.

Each one shot forward like a golden comet, the air crackling around them as I let out a satisfied breath.

"Thank you, Lady Luck, you're the b—"

My words died in my throat.

An ominous wave of mana erupted from the figure's crumpled form, rolling through the air like a storm.

It hit me before I could even brace myself as a crushing and suffocating pressure swallowed the cave whole.

My control over the cards wavered for a split second.

Their trajectories faltered, veering just off-course before slamming into the rock wall, embedding themselves right behind the bastard's twitching form.

"Fuck."

The word left my mouth right before the mana wave threw me back like a ragdoll. Even while airborne, I flipped the mental switch—triggering the explosion of my cards.

A roar of light followed.

The cave was painted in orange as all three cards detonated.

I felt the connection snap… then return meaning I could summon new cards now afterall my skill only allowed use of three cards at once.

Just as my back was about to meet solid rock, I vanished and reappeared in a burst of flame,

teleporting cleanly through the collapsing dust.

That was a close call.

Thankfully, the explosion hadn't taken the whole cave down with it otherwise, we would all be redecorating the afterlife right now.

Well… I knew the explosion wouldn't bring the whole cave down. It was all part of my plan. Definitely not a reckless gamble.

Definitely not because I got annoyed by that mana wave punch and detonated everything on impulse.

Nope. It was all perfectly calculated as always.

I exhaled in relief and turned toward where that bastard had been and then my eyes widened.

"I take that back." I clenched my jaw, glaring at the scene in front of me. "You are a fucking bitch, Luck."

That fucker… that motherfucker I had just detonated my cards at.

Even that bitch had plot armor thicker than mine.

Because its form had shifted and something far worse gleamed in its eyes now.

Something that hadn't been there in its beastly form before.

Intelligence.

And now that bastard was glaring at me like I owed him money.

"GIVE ME YOUR BODY."

Well, if it isn't the level-up. First this motherfucker wanted my dick and now it wants my body.

I swear, my handsome appearance is going to be the death of me one day.

Well… I guess believing in Luck was my mistake. That bitch never wanted me to take it easy.

Meanwhile, somewhere else, a white-haired girl sat on a rock beside a riverside. In her hand, she held a chocolate bar. The last one she had.

For days now, she had done nothing but sit there, eating her chocolates one by one.

The stash she had taken from the crimson bear had lasted her this long, only because she had used them sparingly.

Just a few days ago, she had felt a wave of energy. Something she hadn't felt from someone before.

She knew what the feeling was.

Death.

She didn't know who it belonged to but for a brief moment, someone had held Death in their hands.

Curiosity had gotten the better of her.

She began searching for the disturbance.

But she never found the origin of that disturbance.

Just then, something shifted within the air as a crimson portal opened in the sky.

From it, a boy came crashing down.

White hair and red eyes.

He looked eerily similar to her.

She knew who he was.

Her gaze drifted past the riverbank, where countless bodies lay scattered. Among them were her siblings.

And the boy who had just fallen from the sky… was one of them too. She didn't know his name but something about him felt different.

As he landed, his crimson eyes lifted and met hers.

Even the look in his eyes mirrored her own.

"Hey, sister," he said softly. "Nice to meet you."

Noah's voice carried no emotion or warmth as he looked at his sister.
