Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 923: Not cheap

Michael finally found respite in the solemn silence of his room. Because of Fudge's little antics, he almost felt another aching pain searing through his mind.

But now, he could finally focus on what was really important. Spending his Mini Drones!

Okay now, what can I buy with 513 Mini Drones?

Originally, he had 16 Mini Drones. But he gave two of them away to Fudge so that Jaku and Umisu could have their Mithril Artifact weapons finally assimilated into his system. That left him with only 14.

However, he left one insignificant little Mini Drone for a mission of its own, the details of which he wasn't going to discuss yet.

So despite having 514 Drones in total, he could only spend 513 of them on the Emporium.

And of course, he didn't want to let go of his Mini Drones all at once. He wanted to keep at least ten of them by his side. The only reason why they were able to rescue Lyra and leave unscathed was because he had a slew of Mini Drones ready to protect them while they escaped.

In fact, it could be reasoned that having 500 Mini Drones at his disposal would be much more effective than buying any item in the Emporium. After all, he already saw how powerful 15 Mini Drones were against small pawns like those assassins from the Ersatz.

However, even he knew the limitations of his Mini Drones.

They were a very potent weapon against Body Formation Maugnetics. By his estimation, 10 Mini Drones would be enough to easily dispatch a 9th stage Maugnetic like Platinum.

But after seeing the power of the Shadow Knight and Katarina's Diamond Armor, he knew that his Mini Drones would be completely outmatched against them, even if there were hundreds of them working together.

The tangible Aubility Power of those in the Nascent Realm completely disregarded any of the chaotic and destructive forces of Unity.

Michael's most powerful weapon couldn't even scratch their very powerful body.

His Mini Drones would be akin to an ant facing against an elephant. There was no way an ant would win, unless there were millions of them swarming the mammoth creature.

Not only that, but his Mini Drones didn't have the same impenetrable defense as his Main Drone. They only had a prismatic shield that he bestowed upon them, which was as ineffective as the Unity Gun against Nascent Spirits.

All in all, having hundreds of Mini Drones would necessarily increase his defenses. In a time of crisis, they would only be sacrificial pawns that would buy him time to escape.

In comparison, the items in the Emporium gave him not just an extra layer of defense, but a way for him to inflict damage onto those demigods.

The [Nascent Godkiller of the Seven Seas] proved that he could purchase items or weapons that would be effective even against Nascent Spirit cultivators. He just had to combine a few Mini Drones to do it.

The most important items to buy are things that will help me against Ersatz members.

He had a feeling that he'd be bumping into Platinums, Emeralds, Diamonds, and god forbid, even Masters as they got closer to figuring out their Stronghold in New Sparta.

So, he needed to ensure his life.

[Search: Unity Weapon, rated to the 3rd stage of the Nascent Spirit realm.]

The window refreshed, showing multitudes of options for him to choose.

[Uncommon Recalcitrant Jade Sword]

[Uncommon Vicious Fanged Spear]

[Uncommon Eviscerating Boar's Axe]

A myriad of powerful weapons appeared in his vision, each one strangely named as [Uncommon].

ChatJK5, what's Uncommon?

[The Uncommon rank is a title given to weapons befitting those who are in the 1st to 3rd stage of the Nascent Spirit realm.]

So, are there other ranks above this? Can you tell me all of them?

Upon his request, a new window popped up in his vision, showing rows and columns explaining the rarity of weapons in the Emporium.

[Common = Peak 9th stage Body Formation]

[Uncommon = 1st stage to 3rd stage Nascent Spirit]

[Rare = 4th stage to 6th stage Nascent Spirit]

[Epic = 7th stage to 9th stage Nascent Spirit]

[Legendary = ????]

Michael didn't know that there were such distinctions amongst Nascent Spirit realm weapons.

And according to ChatJK5's descriptions, it seemed that these ranks were quite strict.

This meant that [Common] ranked weapons couldn't injure someone who was in the 1st stage of the Nascent Spirit realm and above.

Using [Uncommon] weapons to fight against a 4th stage Nascent Spirit cultivator and above would prove fruitless as well.

I see… so this is the reason why companies are so desperate in hoarding Soo drops.

He remembered the reason why every single company spent hundreds of millions of gold coins for just a few drops of Soo.

For normal Maugnetics, they had to coat their weapons with Soo every single time they increased in cultivation.

In the body Formation realm, they did this so that their weapons wouldn't degrade due to the imbalance of power between themselves and their weapons.

But in the Nascent Spirit realm, it seemed that they coated their weapons with Soo in order to increase its power or else it would become blunt against stronger opponents!

It's not that different in my case. These Mini Drones are made out of Soo drops, so it's like coating my weapon as well.

Michael then picked the first option just to see what it was like.

Immediately, an image of an ethereal, teal-colored jian sword appeared in his vision. This double-edged weapon looked pristine and straight out of a xianxia novel.

[The Recalcitrant Jade Sword is a weapon that inherits the power of the unchanging heavens, allowing for a consistent and reliable source of power.]

[Price: 499 Mini Drones]

[Delivery: 48 hours]

Michael immediately took a deep breath. He needed to splurge all of his budget on only a single weapon!
