He stopped, no longer spanking Yang Mei's behind.

"Let me get up already!"

Seeing that Liu Ergou had stopped spanking her, Yang Mei struggled to get up, using his shoulders for support. But just as she was about to stand, he suddenly pressed her back down onto his lap.

This startled her.

"What are you doing! I already called you 'brother'! You can't go back on your word!"

Saying this, she covered her bottom with both hands, glaring angrily at Liu Ergou.

Seeing her furious expression, Liu Ergou said with a smile, "Who said I went back on my word?"

"I'm just checking to see if someone's backside is swollen."

With that, Liu Ergou made a move to pull down Yang Mei's pants.

As soon as his hand touched her, she quickly stopped him.

"You don't need to look! Stop it!"

She started to struggle again, but before she could, Liu Ergou raised his hand and waved it threateningly in front of her eyes.

Seeing this, Yang Mei knew exactly what he meant. She immediately went still, lying across his lap and letting him do as he pleased.

However, what she had feared didn't happen.

Liu Ergou only pulled her pants down a little, just enough to take a look. Beneath them, her fair skin had turned bright red.

As for whether it was swollen, Liu Ergou didn't think so.

After confirming this, he finally let go of her.

As soon as he released her, Yang Mei scrambled up from his lap and straightened her clothes. Then, seizing the moment while Liu Ergou was distracted, she grabbed his arm, opened her mouth, and was about to bite down hard.

Fortunately, Liu Ergou reacted at the last second. He reached out and grabbed Yang Mei's chin.

"Oh? Someone still dares to try something?" Liu Ergou teased her. "Looks like someone wants another spanking!"

With that, he raised his other hand and waved it in front of her eyes.

When Yang Mei saw this, she couldn't help but snort coldly. She broke free from his large hand and rubbed her chin resentfully.

Hearing her threaten to tattle, Liu Ergou wasn't the least bit scared. Instead, he just grinned.

He laughed heartily, much to Yang Mei's confusion.

Then Liu Ergou spoke, "Tattle? Hahaha, alright, alright, don't make me laugh. When we were kids, you threatened to tattle every time I disciplined you, but I never once saw your mom come looking for me!"

Liu Ergou's words rendered Yang Mei speechless.

Seeing his smug expression, Yang Mei could only stomp her foot forcefully. She shot him one more fierce glare before turning away and heading toward her house.

Watching this, Liu Ergou just laughed and followed her.

Walking behind, Liu Ergou watched the sway of her hips and couldn't resist teasing her.

"I never realized, Yang Mei. You've got quite a figure. It's so... bouncy. Felt amazing!"

Yang Mei, who was walking ahead, heard his teasing and ground her teeth in anger, but she was helpless.

She simply couldn't beat him!

At this thought, Yang Mei snorted coldly and quickened her pace. Liu Ergou, walking behind her, hurriedly sped up to keep up.

As they walked, Liu Ergou suddenly remembered something. "Hey, Yang Mei, can I ask you something? Did you ever have a boyfriend in college?"

Without a moment's hesitation, Yang Mei replied, "No!"

Her simple "No!" left Liu Ergou a little surprised.

With her looks, it seemed odd that she wouldn't have had a boyfriend in college!

With that thought, he pressed on. "No boyfriend? That's impossible, right? You're so pretty, even if you weren't looking, guys must have been chasing you!"

Yang Mei, still walking ahead, replied, "Guys pursued me, but none of them were good enough."

Upon hearing this, Liu Ergou wasn't surprised at all. Indeed, she had the right to be choosy.

But he wasn't going to drop the subject and asked again, "I see. Now I'm curious, what kind of man *would* be good enough for you?"

This time, Yang Mei didn't answer immediately. Instead, she turned her head, rolled her eyes at him, and snapped, "What's it to you!"

The two continued to chat on and off. Before long, they arrived back at their homes.

Before Yang Mei could open her front door, Feng Chunling caught up from behind, carrying groceries.

As soon as she reached them, she exclaimed, "Er Gou, Mei, you two walk so slowly! I went grocery shopping and still managed to catch up to you. What took you so long?"

Hearing Feng Chunling's words, Yang Mei couldn't help but blush. She didn't say anything, simply opening the door and heading straight inside.

Yang Mei's reaction made Feng Chunling turn to Liu Ergou, puzzled.

Liu Ergou just shrugged and said, "We were too busy arguing on the way!"

After hearing this, Feng Chunling immediately understood. She knew that because of their history, the two kids had never gotten along well and would bicker at every opportunity. They must have started fighting again while she was out shopping.

Thinking this, Feng Chunling didn't ask any more questions. Holding the groceries in one hand, she used the other to pull Liu Ergou into her house.

After pouring him a cup of tea, Feng Chunling hurried off to cook.

As for Yang Mei, she had gone straight to her room after getting home and refused to come out, not even for dinner.

So, Liu Ergou and Feng Chunling ended up eating alone.

Although they were alone, because Yang Mei was in the house, they behaved themselves and nothing happened.

However, halfway through the meal, Liu Ergou suddenly ran to his own house to get an insulated food container. He came back, packed a bit of each dish from the table into it, and then took it back to his place.

Feng Chunling knew exactly what Liu Ergou was doing, but she didn't say anything.

Liu Ergou had arranged the jobs for both her and her daughter. So what if he took a little food home?
