The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 190: Invite Them to the Team for Tea!

Mr. Zhang picked up his phone, preparing to dial Jiang An's number.

The next second, his phone started ringing.

The caller ID showed it was Jiang An.

"Haha, we really have a telepathic connection."

As soon as the call connected, Mr. Zhang said, "I was just about to call you, and here you are calling me."

Jiang An chuckled and said, "Mr. Zhang, I have something to report to you."

"Go ahead."

With the major breakthrough in the case, Mr. Zhang was very pleased, and his tone became very polite towards Jiang An.

"Mr. Zhang, I was reviewing the case files and discovered that Li Lan's posts on her WeChat Moments are very regular."

"She basically posts a Moment every two days."

"The key is, none of the pictures in these posts show herself."

Hearing this, Mr. Zhang's gaze turned serious, and a sudden chill ran through him.

"You mean, her Moments posts are not authentic?"

"Exactly, I suspect she might have multiple WeChat accounts."

"Currently, while reviewing the case files, I've only found one of her WeChat accounts."

Mr. Zhang nodded.

"I recall that in the earlier investigations, we did find only one WeChat account."

Jiang An continued, "Mr. Zhang, I suggest we investigate again if she has any other WeChat tools under her name."

Mr. Zhang replied, "Jiang An, what you said makes a lot of sense."

"I'll immediately arrange for the cyber investigation team to assist in the investigation."

Jiang An then asked, "Mr. Zhang, did you have anything else to discuss with me?"

"Haha, I have some good news for you."

"Based on your case analysis ideas, we've already finished screening the van and the large truck from the preliminary review."

"Through the investigation, we've fortunately identified a suspicious vehicle."

"Really?"

"That's great!"

Even though the idea was initially Jiang An's, upon hearing the good news, he was also surprised.

Mr. Zhang went on, "The hit vehicle is currently in a used car market."

"So, I plan to invite you to check it out together."

"Sure! Let's meet downstairs."

Forty minutes later, two police cars stopped at the entrance of a used car dealership.

Mr. Zhang, Jiang An, and their team got off the car.

The large searchlights above illuminated the car market brightly.

Zhang Feng walked over and patted Mr. He on the shoulder.

"Great job!"

Mr. He stood at attention and saluted, "As long as we can solve the case, any effort is worth it."

After speaking, Mr. He turned to look at Jiang An.

He immediately gave a thumbs up.

"Jiang An, thank you!"

"Thanks to your direction, we were finally able to locate the hit vehicle."

Jiang An grinned and said with a smile, "Mr. He, you're too kind."

"I just proposed a possibility, and it's you who made it happen, so thank you all."

Seeing the significant breakthrough in the case, Zhang Feng was very happy.

He smiled and said, "The credit goes to the team."

"However, I believe today's major breakthrough in this case wouldn't have been possible without everyone's efforts, especially your significant contribution, Jiang An."

"On behalf of the Criminal Investigation Team, I express my gratitude to the three of you."

Jiang An solemnly said, "Mr. Zhang, traveling thousands of miles to investigate."

"No matter where we go, we are at odds with criminals!"

Then, Mr. Zhang, with a determined look, turned to observe the black sedan in front of him.

After observing it for a while, he said in a deep voice, "The hood is severely deformed, the windows are shattered extensively, the impact force was substantial."

Suddenly, memories of the task force's case discussions filled Mr. Zhang's mind.

Back then, some people concluded it was a traffic accident death, largely because a small amount of glass fragments was found on the deceased's clothing."

Mr. Zhang glanced at the glass debris, "It's those glass fragments that likely misled our initial judgment."

Mr. He remarked with feeling, "Exactly!"

"I remember during the autopsy, a small amount of glass fragment in granular form was indeed found on the deceased's clothing; it looked like windshield glass fragments."

After pondering for a while, Mr. Zhang smiled.

"As of now, everything makes sense."

"Just as Jiang An thought, the body shows characteristics of both a high fall and a traffic accident."

Mr. Zhang then turned to Jiang An and asked, "Jiang An, how do you think we should handle this car next?"

Suddenly being named in Mr. Zhang's question, Jiang An was a bit surprised.

He steadied his emotions and glanced at the black sedan.

"First, this vehicle in front of us is severely deformed."

"Physical contact is mutual. Besides the glass fragments found on the body earlier, the car should also carry skin flakes or hair from the deceased."

"Hence, I suggest we immediately conduct inspections on this vehicle."

"By examining and comparing biological traces on the car, we can further establish its direct connection to the case."

"Second, the deceased, Li Lan, fell from the 7th floor, and the impact was significant."

"During the impact, besides biological flakes left during contact, the deceased's personal belongings could have fallen off, and I think we should thoroughly examine the car's interior next."

"Third, if we confirm this as the hit vehicle, the next step is to check the large truck's dashcam to identify when the car passed by the abandoned office building."

"That timing should correspond to the death's high fall period."

"We will then investigate vehicles and people around that time."
