Mythical Era: My Evolution into a Celestial Beast

Chapter 1028: Refining Time The Hair-Dyed Dragon Emperor (II)

Just as the six demon gods were preparing to depart, Tyretis and the others suddenly turned to look toward the Dark Demonic Morkaya Empire's demonic region. There, an unfamiliar demon god aura had suddenly emerged.

At the regional center of the demonic region, more than 1.5 million kilometers away, Tarorya sat high upon its throne. Its long purple hair billowed wildly behind it, and a terrifying power was condensing within it. Sensing the incomplete principles stirred into motion by its influence across the heavens and earth, Tarorya looked beyond the edge of the demonic region, a faint smile playing at its lips.My Majesty has indeed fallen.

Although Brooks had performed perfectly earlier, not revealing a single flaw, Tarorya's feminine intuition kept telling it that something felt off. Even though it sensed something was amiss, however, it chose not to speak.

As long as Deorus remained alive, it did not dare to break through. Or rather, under the suppression of the imperial bloodline's principles, it, who had already reached its limit, was unable to break through.

That was because this Purgatory Empire, having only recently been established, could only carry one demon god's principle of the same bloodline, just like the entire Purgatory Demon Clan could only bear a single Primordial Ancestor.

Boom!

The aura of Tarorya breaking through the shackles of the great demon king level erupted completely. At once, the dark demonic qi throughout the empire roared and surged. From all around, principle power that had become fragmented after Deorus's fall rushed in, blending with the dark demonic qi. It transformed into strands of dark red light descending from the sky.

A foreign oppressive principle instantly permeated heaven and earth. The Purgatory Demons, who had been in panic following Deorus' death, were suddenly stirred with excitement as they looked toward the demonic region.

"A new demon god has been born!"

"Our empire hasn't fallen! it hasn't fallen..."

At the battlefield within the forbidden zone, the entrance range stretching over more than a hundred thousand kilometers was lined with mountain ridges, where simple outposts and firepower points of the human and Heavenly Feathered Race forces had been established.

Ten thousand kilometers above those bases, the Primordial King, the Divine King of Light Wings from the Heavenly Feathered Race, and one of the faerie kings hovered in the sky. Their towering auras of principle filled the world.

In the distance, over a hundred thousand kilometers away, the remnants of two demon-god-level auras still lingered. After sensing that several human divine kings remained behind, those two demon gods only unleashed a distant show of pressure before cautiously retreating to avoid being flanked by returning human reinforcements. The cultivators still constructing bases below were completely unaware of what had occurred in the skies above. They continued operating massive machinery, hauling mountains and stones.

Over half an hour later, five majestic auras suddenly erupted across the sky. The heavens changed instantly, and boundless golden light illuminated the entire world.

"They've returned." Sensing the familiar auras, smiles appeared on the faces of the Primordial King and the others. To them, regardless of whether the mission had achieved its strategic objectives, the fact that everyone who left returned safely was already a victory.

Soon, Chen Chu and four others appeared, having reverted to normal form, walking atop a golden cloud layer. Behind them followed two demon kings, including Brooks.

The Primordial King smiled. "You've all worked hard. How did the operation go?"

"A resounding success. The ambush went even better than we had planned. Deorus was wary of other demon gods coveting the time-type treasure, and just as we predicted, entered the forbidden zone alone," said Qian Tian with a grin. "What exceeded our expectations was Chen Chu. None of us anticipated that he would condense yet another, even stronger time clone. We not only killed Deorus, but also two demon gods who came to his aid, and none of us sustained serious injuries."

At those words, Tolstoy and the others couldn't help showing astonishment. They had already known Chen Chu possessed a time clone. In the last great battle, he had relied on it to escape a killing blow from the combined assault of seven great demon gods.

However, they hadn't expected him to both break through to the ancient titan level and condense another time clone with equal power. With the summoning altar that could bring forth a colossal beast at any moment, it now felt as though this man had unfathomable depths. He had even more trump cards than veterans who had cultivated for thousands of years.

"Three demon gods!" The Primordial King, Faerie King Xuntian, and Segovia were all stunned by the news.

Chen Chu solemnly said, "Though we won decisively this time, it was only the opening act. The enemy will likely launch their full assault very soon."

Thinking of the two terrifying great demon god auras on the other side, Qian Tian and the others all grew a bit more serious. While three demon gods had been slain, they had also exposed a great deal. This included the presence of the Faeries, and Brooks, the high-level infiltrator within enemy ranks.

"Everyone expended a lot this time. We should hurry back and focus on recovery." Qian Tian looked at Chen Chu and earnestly said, "Especially you, Chen Chu. You unleashed back-to-back bursts of power to kill two demon gods. The toll on you was enormous. We really can't afford to waste time. Let's go."

Without further conversation, the group departed. Leaving the Primordial King and Segovia to guard the border, they tore open space and returned to their respective bases.

Just as Qian Tian had said, all five had taken considerable losses. Chen Chu, in particular, had exited his Dark Star World-Ending Dragon Emperor Form after killing Deorus due to the exhaustion from successive battles and teleporting using the hell coordinates, yet in order to eliminate Livedes swiftly, he had forcibly re-entered that form. The tremendous burden left his True Demon God Form with significant internal injuries.

Even Qian Tian and the others had paid a price. Though they held overwhelming advantage while suppressing the two demon gods, one of whom they killed, it had still come at a cost. As they didn't have time to wear their opponents down slowly, they had to fight fast and use massive amounts of principle origin to counterbalance.

Thankfully, the four had shared the burden, so the depletion of origin was within manageable limits. After spending some valuable resources and cultivating in seclusion for a few days, they would be ready for the next battle.

While Chen Chu and the others retreated into seclusion to recover, Qian Tian still had matters to attend to. In a spacious, modest meeting room, Qian Tian looked at Brooks—ten meters tall with a fearsome appearance—and a look of satisfaction crossed his face. "This undercover mission was executed perfectly. Bredos, you performed exceptionally well. Because of you, we not only avoided greater losses, but also thwarted multiple assassination attempts and offensives by the Purgatory Empire. In recognition of your outstanding contribution, as the Federation's First Councilor, I hereby promise to assist you personally three times free of charge and award you two forbidden weapons. In addition, now that you're back, your identity will be directly elevated to that of a civilization inheritor. You will receive heavenly-king-level access and the authority to mobilize all resources under that clearance."

Brooks, whose real name was Bredos, smiled faintly. "Thank you, Councilor, and perfect timing. I'd like to ask you to help me and Guludeen sever the demon god's bloodline will within us, so we retain only the power of the true demons."

Qian Tian paused and reminded Bredos, "Are you sure? Doing so will significantly weaken your strength."

The power system of the Purgatory Demon Clan was centered on one's bloodline. Its source was the sleeping Primordial Ancestor, with countless subordinate demon gods and empires branching from it.

What carried that power was the bloodline will within all true demons, or more precisely, faint traces of the Purgatory Clan's principles. Once that will was severed, it would mean Bredos and Guludeen would lose all associated bloodline abilities and progression paths, leaving only the true form of demon kings.

"I'm certain." Bredos nodded.

"I... will follow Brooks," said the fork-horned demon king after a moment of hesitation.

"In that case, don't resist."

Boom!

Space around the three of them shattered, and in an instant, they arrived in a world divided by yin and yang. Within this world of principles, Qian Tian's figure towered boundlessly like an ancient god whose hands governed life and death. He slowly extended his palm toward the two demon kings. The moment they allowed Qian Tian's power to enter their bodies and souls, a ferocious and dignified roar resounded across the void.

Endless black demonic qi erupted from them, resonating with an unseen force of principle and manifesting into two savage phantoms of demons. However, within the principle world revealed by the Divine Yin-Yang Wheel, those two bloodline wills had no room to resist. With only the slightest obstruction, they were instantly erased by the power of life and death.

Bredos and Guludeen both grunted as their scales shattered and their flesh split open. Dark-red blood sprayed like a fountain, and their auras weakened to the extreme. Having previously absorbed the demon god's essence to reach the middle stage of the mythical level, they now fell straight back to the beginning stage, nearly slipping back into the transcendent realm.

Yet despite their weakness, Bredos's face lit up with a bright smile as he sensed the disappearance of that suppressive force in his bloodline. "Just as I suspected. The force that restrains the abyssal gene originates from the bloodline will."

With renewed spirit, Bredos looked at Qian Tian. "Councilor, I'd like to return to the Blue Planet to continue my research into the possibility of fusing abyssal factors with human genetics."

During his infiltration of the Purgatory Demon Clan, Bredos had never been idle. Aside from fulfilling his mission and cultivating, he had devoted all of his time to researching the clan's genetic and biological structure. That had always been his goal when he merged with Demon God Blood and joined the Purgatory Demon Clan.

He was deeply curious about their genetic code and form of life. He wanted to know if their genes could be integrated into the human genetic sequence the same way mutated beast DNA had been. However, just as he had reached the core stage of reconstructing cellular nuclei, progress halted. No matter how he copied them, the cells of the Purgatory Demon Clan would always collapse suddenly under some mysterious interference, unable to divide independently.

Now, with the life-binding will removed, he believed that if the research succeeded, the Federation could unlock a fourth cultivation path: bloodline-based cultivation. Not just any bloodline, but that of a mythical race.

Faced with Bredos's request, Qian Tian didn't object. Soon, an orbital battleship carried the two demon kings toward the passage back to the Blue Planet.
