Who is he?
Who exactly is he!? What kind of terrifying identity does he possess!?
These were Wang Jiu's questions, and they were shared by Zhuang Xinyan and everyone else present. A seemingly tall and handsome college student... just what kind of identity and power could he have to make people from the prestigious, six-hundred-year-old He Family behave this way? They were bowing respectfully, not to mention willingly giving away shares worth at least tens of billions, possibly even hundreds of billions! This is truly unfathomable, simply incomprehensible! Incredible! Unimaginable! How could such an absurd thing happen in the real world?
"What kind of person is Mr. Qin? Heh." He Mingtong glanced at Wang Jiu, who was kneeling on the ground, a contemptuous smile on his face. Then he looked toward Qin Heng, as if seeking his opinion.
Seeing Qin Heng nod slightly, He Mingtong, as if granted permission, pointed at Wang Jiu on the ground and said, "You are not qualified to know Mr. Qin's identity. You only need to know that he is someone you cannot afford to provoke! Similarly, he is someone that even my He Family cannot afford to provoke. So, watch yourself."
Upon hearing this, silence suddenly fell all around.
A person not to be provoked! Someone even the He Family could not provoke—he was talking about the He Family, not just himself, He Mingtong! He was referring to the He Family, which had been prominent in Beijing for over six hundred years, from the Ming Dynasty to the present. Many of its members held important positions in various industries, including the military and government! How could this be possible! This was something that simply couldn't happen! Across all of China—no, across the entire Earth—what power or figure could possibly exist that even the He Family wouldn't dare to provoke? Even the President of America probably wouldn't command such deference! Who exactly was this ordinary-looking college student?! Why would He Mingtong hold him in such high regard? Wang Jiu and the people around him were utterly baffled. They couldn't make sense of it.
Only Zhuang Xinyan, her beautiful eyebrows deeply furrowed, noticed a detail. Before answering Wang Jiu, He Mingtong had looked at Qin Heng, as if seeking his consent. Qin Heng had nodded, yet He Mingtong still refrained from clearly disclosing Qin Heng's identity. He only vaguely stated that this was someone the He Family could not afford to provoke. Looking at it this way, it was very apparent that He Mingtong held Qin Heng in great fear and respect, terrified of making even the slightest mistake. Qin Heng had already agreed. He had agreed to let He Mingtong reveal his identity, yet He Mingtong still dared not speak plainly, merely hinting at it vaguely. This meant He Mingtong knew Qin Heng didn't wish to expose his real identity. Even with consent, he only dared to disclose a tiny bit of information, definitely not daring to elaborate! He was afraid of displeasing Qin Heng! My God! This is truly incredible!
Zhuang Xinyan looked toward He Mingtong with shock and uncertainty. It's astonishing! A member of the illustrious He Family is actually showing such reverence toward an ordinary college student! This is truly incredible!
Although He Mingtong was from a collateral branch of the He Family, not the Legitimate Line, he possessed exceptional abilities. He could be considered one of the three most outstanding young people among the collateral relatives. Therefore, within the entire He Family, He Mingtong's status was not inferior to some of the lower-ranking members of the Legitimate Line. In fact, many high-ranking members of the Legitimate Line greatly admired He Mingtong's capabilities. A person like He Mingtong, considering both his status in the He Family and his personal abilities, was extraordinary. In all of Beijing, he was as rare as a phoenix feather or a unicorn's horn—extremely uncommon.
Yet such a person actually showed such great respect and deference to Qin Heng, so deferential and subservient; it was truly astonishing.
「After a long while」
Wang Jiu, who had been utterly shocked, finally came back to his senses. With an expression of disbelief on his face, he looked at He Mingtong and said, "Mr. He Mingtong, you... you must be joking, right? How can there be someone in this world whom the He Family cannot afford to offend? Hahaha, you're making me laugh! Haha!"
Wang Jiu simply couldn't believe it; this was the He Family, after all! They had been in Beijing for six hundred years, holding sway over the central hubs of various industries to this day. Such a powerful He Family! How could there possibly be someone they couldn't overcome? It was absolutely impossible!
"I don't have time to joke with you, trash!" He Mingtong declared. He straightened up, cast an indifferent glance at Wang Jiu kneeling on the ground, and without paying him any further attention, turned and left, saying, "Mr. Qin's strength is something you simply cannot comprehend."
His ability to annihilate thousands of soldiers from Japan's Self-Defense Forces with a mere flip of his hand, and destroy ten battleships with a wave—such terrifying power has reached unimaginable levels. If he wanted to destroy the He Family, it would be a piece of cake. Effortless! He Mingtong was very clear about the power Qin Heng possessed. He knew what terrifying energy this entailed, an energy the He Family simply had no capacity to withstand! They can only show reverence; they absolutely must not harbor a single disrespectful thought. Otherwise, the He Family might well be doomed!
Now, He Mingtong only wanted to leave this place quickly, lest he be implicated by the kneeling Wang Jiu. That would truly be an undeserved disaster.
"Mr. He Mingtong! Mr. He Mingtong! You're leaving! Don't go!" Wang Jiu knelt on the ground and, watching He Mingtong's rapidly retreating figure, yelled out, "Mr. He Mingtong, I beg you! Please save me, save me!"
Save your mother! He Mingtong cursed inwardly. Only after walking out did he draw a sharp breath and mutter, "If Mr. Qin isn't satisfied this time, I'm finished! I can't associate with this brat Wang Jiu anymore; sooner or later, he'll get me killed!"
"No! No! No! Mr. He Mingtong, come back! I beg you to save me! Save me!" Wang Jiu screamed, his voice hoarse, having exhausted almost all his strength.
But He Mingtong didn't pause for a moment; his pace even quickened. Wang Jiu could only watch helplessly as He Mingtong departed, his figure quickly disappearing in his haste to leave.
Why! Why has it come to this? Wang Jiu wept bitterly. The intense pain in his legs, the feeling of his kneecaps being completely shattered—it was almost unbearable. And now, to suffer such a catastrophic turn of events, to be utterly abandoned by He Mingtong and the entire He Family! Wang Jiu's spirit was nearing collapse.
Finally, his gaze shifted to Qin Heng. Kneeling on the ground, he looked at the young man he had scorned just moments before. Only stark terror remains in my heart! It's truly too terrifying! Whatever terrifying identity he possesses, it no longer matters. What matters is that even the He Family dares not provoke him, and He Mingtong had to flee like a beaten dog!
THUD! THUD! THUD!!
Wang Jiu kowtowed frantically on the ground before Qin Heng, his head hitting the floor with loud, incessant thuds. Soon, his forehead was a bloody, mangled mess.
"I beg you! Mr. Qin! Please spare me! Spare my life! You've already broken my legs. I only beg you to spare my life," he pleaded.
He was completely desperate now. Clearly, he couldn't count on the He Family at all. Without them, Wang Jiu realized he had absolutely no one else to turn to. And even if he could beg someone else, they certainly wouldn't agree. This was someone even the He Family couldn't afford to offend; getting involved in such a conflict was simply asking for death! So, all he could do was beg for mercy.
"Spare your life?" Qin Heng, however, suddenly let out a cold laugh. Looking down at Wang Jiu, who was incessantly kowtowing and begging for mercy, he said, "How do you propose I spare your life? And on what grounds should I?"
Saying this, Qin Heng stepped forward and planted his foot on Wang Jiu's head, pressing Wang Jiu's cheek hard against the ground. He chuckled lightly, "Go on, let's hear it."
