He was surprised the first time he saw Su Ping replicate one of Rugards spell but, now that he saw he could even replicate the latter's instant death spell, Deaths gaze, he was truly terrified.
After all, deaths gaze was a spell only those with instant death magic could use, and those who could use it were few amongst humans, Ony the undead race were known to use it most amongst all races, yet the demon in front of him had used it so easily.
"F*ck! What kind of horrendous misfortune is this!" Jack screamed in fear as he bolted towards the houses in the distance to take cover.
" Rugards instant death spell can't be used without being able to see ones opponent, so long as i can get some cover, i should be safe in the meantime." Jack rambled to himself as he ran for his life.
' Die!' Su Ping knew his opponent was feigning bravery, just from hearing the name of this magical spell, he concluded that there was no way the other party would be able to avoid it, unless he moved faster than his gaze, like he had, besides that, he wasn't sure there was any other way to avoid it
" Honey please stop!" Melinda suddenly called out Su Ping as he was about to use the instant death spell.
" Arrrghhh!!!" Melinda gasped when she heard a heart wrenching scream immediately after she spoke.
Rugard and Su Ping glanced at Jack who was in the process of jumping over a random home's fence. His body suddenly turned grey at a rapid pace before it began breaking apart, disintegrating into dust that was blown away by the cold night breeze.
Rugard turned silent while Su Ping reverted back to his Draconian form.
" I don't know what sort of relationship you may have developed with my wife but count yourself lucky... next time I see you near here, You won't be so lucky." He said as he glanced at Rugard, the necromancer smiled warily sensing the obvious hostility in the other parties gaze but after awhile, Su Ping scoffed before turning around and walking back to his wife and kids.
" Daddy!" Mel and Sal ran up to their father who happily picked them up before nuzzling against them gently.
" Daddy you scared us!"
" Not fair, The both of us thought Daddy was really hurt."
" Daddy's sorry for worrying you two." Su Ping chuckled. The feeling of embracing the both of them set his heart at ease, this was the moment he hoped for, a moment of escape from the harshness of this new reality, a simple moment of peace and joy he'd longed to have without the intrusion of this darned game he found himself thrown into.
" Honey..." Melinda approached him with a guilty look on her face, her head lowered as if she didn't want to meet his gaze.
" It's ok sweetie, I'm sure the both of you must be good friends. You did nothing wrong by stopping me." Su Ping gently placed the children down before pulling Melinda into his embrace.
Melinda trembled a little before gently rasing her head to meet his gaze. Seeing the genuine warmth and worry in his eyes, a light smile bloomed on her face, her cheeks turning a rosy hue.
'She's to cute.' Su Ping was momentarily dazed, staring at his wife face that looked even more beautiful underneath the moon's luminescent glow.
" Mommy, Daddy..." Mel suddenly pulled on the hem of her mother's dress. Both Su Ping and Melinda snapped out of their little dream to glance at their daughter who looked worried while pointing outwards.
" I thought I told you...." Su Pings eyes almost turned feral at the sight of Rugard who was staring at the family of 4 in silence.
" Honey..." Melinda said with hints of pleading in her voice.
Su Ping sighed and calmed down when he realized his change in attitude had almost released his aura around the children.
" What is it you want. Shouldn't you have left, you seemed in an awful rush earlier, what's the issue, aren't you worried about the enforcer knights anymore?" Su Ping frowned towards Rugard.
" I believe I should be the one saying such things, after all, they're more likely to attack you on sight than me."
" Why you..." Su Ping glared at the human male Infront of him, almost gnashing his fangs
" Honey..." Melinda was quick to stop him before he did something else again.
" Tsk.." Su Ping only clicked his tongue in annoyance.
" Mister Rugard, I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to instigate my husband." Melinda said with a pleading smile, seeing it, Rugard sighed.
" Fine. I just wanted to say. Why don't the 5 of us team up."
" And why would we agree to that." Su Ping glanced at Rugard as if he was an idiot.
" Just think about it, I'm sure after this little incident, you 4 won't be able to live in this village anymore. As a veteran fugitive, I could help keep you out of danger and show you how to survive." Rugard suggested.
" And why would we leave, I could just ki–" Su Ping said with contempt but his words stuck in his throat when he saw Mel and Sal's innocent looks trained on him.
" Hahaha, What daddy meant to say was that if anyone came to the village, daddy can just kick them out because daddy's super strong." Su Ping squatted infront of his two kids, ruffling up their hair in a playful manner.
" Hehehe daddy that tickles." Mel and Sal giggled happily from their fathers touch. Su Pings expression warmed up even more, seeing this. At the same time he stole a glance at his wife and noticed the smile of relief on her face.
' I better be sure to watch what I say around these two. I'm sure it's going to be difficult to give them a wonderful childhood though, but the least I can do is try.' Su Ping felt as if a new restriction was suddenly placed on him.
