At that powerful stage, the soul was powerful enough to influence the body, leading to a direct growth in stats. Ray unlocked traits when his stats reached ten each. He believed others humans should experince the same thing once their stats hit that level.
Besides that, there was another crucial discovery he made.
The Tamer profession seemed to be unique to Earthlings.
Perhaps, Ray mused, only one record of that supernatural discipline had ever existed, and by sheer chance it ended up in human hands back in the Dark Age when earth was submerged in dread and chaos.
He stopped thinking about it as he didn't have the time to dwell on it.
After all, to avoid triggering traps and putting lives at risk, he needed to put his entire focus on gauging the signals sent out by his sixth sense and reacting to them appropriately!
"How did you do it?" Lia lowered her pride and asked Ray, her words laced with curiousness. She couldn't understand how he managed to take them through the safest route in a place filled with traps.
Ray merely flashed a smile, "I have already given you the answer."
"You mean you weren't joking when you said you are a seer?" Lia said in suprise.
Ray threw his hands up nonchantly, "What other reason could there be?"
"How much longer is this cursed corridor going to stretch for? It feels like we've been walking forever," Lucy complained, not accustomed to walking long distances in such a tense environment.
She voiced the frustration of the entire group.
While Ray was doing most of the work to ensure no harm came to them, they still had to focus on stepping only on the places he had stepped. Doing that for a few minutes might not be hard, but doing it for hours straight was mentally taxing and physically draining. She was already starting to feel burned out.
The same was true for Mabo. Although he was strong, he was only slightly stronger than normal humans. He didn't have the strength of iron or bronze rank hunters.
Lia, Elvis, and Sylvia weren't as tired as them. Ray, whose stats were comparable to a bronze rank demonic creature, was the least tired among them.
"Let me check," Ray said, creating a fireball and sending it ahead.
The fireball traveled in a straight line for a thousand meters before it slammed into a stone wall and burst.
With a dead end revealed in the distance, everyone's face lit up.
"It's about a kilometer away," Ray said evenly. "At our pace, that's… maybe five to ten minutes."
"We're not far from bagging a thousand Enlightenment Points!" Lucy's eyes sparkled.
On their way there, they encountered three more deadly situations.
The traps near the end of the corridor didn't rely on pressure plates to activate. They relied on some special methods to trigger on their own once the group's presence was detected. There was no avoiding them.
First, many small holes opened in the ceiling.
Thick streams of liquid rained down. Ray's barrier started to melt the moment it came into contact with it.
He leaped past the area where the acid rain was falling, dragging the others along with him using Azure Winds.
When they reached safety, the corridor behind them was reduced to nothing but melted stone and smoking fumes.
Secondly, circular discs launched out of a thin, unnoticeable gap in the wall, spinning rapidly like saw blades.
They were about to do some serious harm to the group, but Ray stopped them in the most efficient way possible.
He reached out and grabbed them. His hands underwent a great transformation before they came in contact with the spinning discs.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
It sounded like metal clashing against metal before the discs finally stopped spinning in his grasp.
Lastly, the ceiling groaned when they were just a hundred feet away from the corridor's end.
In the confined space, a gap opened overhead, and a round metallic ball thundered out. It was about the size of a wagon, filling the entire width and height of the corridor. It rolled toward them menacingly.
Lucy's eyes widened. "Move!"
The group scattered in panic, some ducking into shallow alcoves in the wall, others stumbling backward.
Ray didn't bother dodging. He transformed his fist with Metallification, wrapped it in Azure Winds and Level 2 Fire, and threw out a punch.
Boom!
The metallic ball shattered into pieces.
The other realized they had panicked for no reason.
That was the last trap they faced before crossing the corridor.
♦️ Trial Completed
♦️ You have gained +1000 Enlightenment Points.
♦️ You have gained the right to challenge the Tower's Third Trial.
♦️ You will be teleported to the Main Hub in three seconds.
"We have completed the trial!" Lucy cheered.
"We're going to get teleported back to the Main Hub," Lia said.
"Let's meet again when we're there?" Sylvia asked.
Everyone nodded—everyone except Ray.
His notification was different than the ones they received.
♦️ You have helped an entire group of Seekers conquer the Corridor of Death Trial.
♦️ You have fulfilled the requirements to challenge the Maze of Traps Trial, where you will face a barrage of laser beams capable of slicing through steel.
♦️ Would you like to challenge it?
♦️ Y/N
♦️ Conquering the hidden trial will grant you extra rewards.
While Ray was still processing this information, the people around him vanished. He was left alone in the Corridor of Death.
"Yes," he said calmly. "I would like to challenge it."
The wall beside him opened like a door, revealing a hidden passage.
Without hesitation, Ray charged into it.
As he was not burdened down by anyone, he decided to speedrun it!
He hastily made his way through the maze of traps.
Each of its corridors were seemingly identical to the last.
He knew that the slightest misstep could trigger a series of deadly laser beams capable of slicing through steel with ease. But he didn't slow down.
As he rounded a corner, a red glint caught his eye. He twisted his body.
A laser beam shot through the air, missing him by a hair.
