Dai Xingyan looked over it again, feeling that something wasn't quite right—does this reflect Tanaka Ichiro's style?
Apart from imagination, would that guy really research unnoticed garbage recycling?
It's more likely to be Master Jian Lei, after all, he'd once stood up for the geothermal system in the lower Gathering Area.
She didn't know why, but thinking of this person, it felt more reasonable for the article to have come from him.
Then a thought struck her: should she urge for the manuscript?
Jian Lei was good in every way, except that getting him to write was too difficult.
Now that Taikoo had published a good article, shouldn't we hurry with our "Mechanical Mysteries" commission?
She thought her reason was sufficient, saw it raining outside the window, and decided to drive.
Not far out, Dai Xingyan remembered that Terry had a contact point at the city market.
She drove over, the old guy was right there, lazily chatting with a skinny kid.
She poked her head in and asked, "Lord Terry, heading back? I can give you a ride."
Bentley saw her, rolled his eyes helplessly, "Chasing for a manuscript again? You still owe me money from last time!"
"What money from last time?" Dai Xingyan blinked, utterly confused, "I never short you on money!"
The skinny kid slipped away quickly, and Bentley walked a few steps, asking in confusion, "The manuscript didn't pass?"
"What manuscript?" Dai Xingyan became even more muddled.
But since he was the Ultimate Warrior who had also helped avenge her, she couldn't speak carelessly.
So she seriously stated, "Master Jian Lei hasn't submitted a manuscript in ten months."
"What are you joking about," Bentley's face darkened, and his presence exuded.
Since mastering Cultivation, his aura was increasingly intimidating.
But he also knew that although she kept pestering for manuscripts, she had helped them greatly in many ways.
He wouldn't bully this little girl, just said, "I sent last month's commissioned manuscript for 'Mechanical Mysteries' to you."
"You sent it to me?" Dai Xingyan was even more dumbfounded, "How come I didn't get it?"
"You weren't there; I gave it to your assistant," Bentley blinked, his face grew darker, "She didn't give it to you?"
Speaking the last sentence, his voice began to crackle slightly, as if an electric current was surging.
"I really didn't receive it," Dai Xingyan's voice started to tremble; she had a premonition that he might soon unleash his Attribute.
So she straightforwardly extended an invitation, "Lord, could you kindly come with me to clarify this?"
Regardless of what you invite an Ultimate Warrior for, being polite is a must.
"If you don't ask, I will," Bentley quickly moved to the side of the car, opened the door, and got in.
"The task that guy entrusted to me—if I mess it up, won't I be laughed at?"
The car returned to the association, and Dai Xingyan directly contacted her assistant using a walkie-talkie, "Come to my office!"
The assistant arrived promptly and nodded when the manuscript was mentioned, responding straightforwardly.
"Yes, Lord Terry did submit the manuscript to you last month, and I placed it on your desk."
Dai Xingyan asked in confusion, "Then why didn't I see it, and why didn't you inform me?"
The assistant, not daring to admit feeling the title was bizarre, could only say tactfully, "I thought you would see it; it was at the top."
Dai Xingyan's face darkened as an ominous feeling crept in, "Who came by afterward?"
"President Tanaka Yoshi of Taikoo," the assistant's face also turned uneasy, realizing where the problem might lie.
"He and his son spent some time in your office... I didn't dare stop them."
Dai Xingyan's face grew darker, "What was the content of the manuscript Lord Terry submitted?"
"It was about garbage reuse," the assistant cautiously explained, "I felt it wasn't quite suitable for our focus... so I didn't tell you."
That's a commissioned manuscript for 'Mechanical Mysteries,' normal people wouldn't write that sort of content, right?
Dai Xingyan picked up the latest "Mechanical Exploration," turned to the relevant page, and slammed it on the desk, shouting angrily.
"Is it this one?"
The assistant, tremblingly, picked up the journal, glanced at it, and immediately spotted Tanaka Ichiro's name, suddenly realizing.
Then she looked at Bentley, "It seems quite similar, but... I didn't read it."
Not reading wasn't a mistake; reading it would be—a theoretical manuscript not yet approved shouldn't just be read.
"Let me see," Bentley guessed what happened, having truly read Qu Jianlei's manuscript.
He wasn't pleased with Xiaoqu's lack of commitment, but he greatly admired the thought process of the guy.
So he had roughly read those manuscripts, maybe not fully comprehending them, but understanding the basic ideas.
He glanced at the article, a cold smile appearing on his lips, "Ha, bold move!"
Dai Xingyan's heart grew cold in an instant, "Lord Terry, it wasn't me!"
"I certainly know it wasn't you," Bentley waved his hand nonchalantly, "There's no need for you."
He well understood Qu Jianlei's temperament, and if Dai Xingyan asked, Xiaoqu wouldn't hesitate to contribute a couple of articles to her.
But having his family's work quietly stolen was truly infuriating.
So he simply asked calmly, "This matter... will you handle it, or shall I?"
"Of course, I'll handle it!" Dai Xingyan answered without hesitation, "The issue lies on our end."
