As Corey heard the words of the Paragon Ancestor, he was taken aback and also felt strange.
Ever since he met the Paragon Ancestor, it was somewhat similar to the days he used to spend with Old Man Poison, his previous master.
The Paragon Ancestor had taught and advised him in strange ways, and he could not help but give the Paragon Ancestor a strange expression.
The Paragon Ancestor raised his brows. "What? You're still light years away from being able to become a disciple of mine. Do you know how many wish to be my disciples?"
Corey tilted his head slightly but didn't answer since he knew that the answer was in the trillions, quintillions, or a more incomprehensible number.
The Paragon Ancestor scoffed when he saw that Corey was silent. "Since you don't know. Let me tell you. Everybody wishes to be my disciple. Once somebody knows who I am, they'll want to be my disciple... Even you cannot deny that you would accept to be my disciple if I offer you the opportunity."
Corey's lips could not help but twitch when he heard this. He could not deny the words of the Paragon Ancestor, but the obvious pride the Paragon Ancestor spoke with ticked him off.
Corey said nothing, and he got to his feet while creating a metallic bowl and then creating water inside the bowl using runes.
Corey used the water to wash the blood off his face, and the Paragon Ancestor lips twitched when some of the bloodstained water splashed on the floor.
"You know you could have used runes to remove the blood from your face or even a cloth which I know you have, right?"
Corey finished cleaning his face, and then he brought out a face towel and dried his face.
He looked at the Paragon Ancestor when he was done, and replied innocently and shamelessly.
"I didn't."
The Paragon Ancestor's lips twitched. "Damn brat. I said it, all the respect you had for me went after seeing me play some video games."
Corey did not refute the Paragon Ancestor's words. Instead, he chose to change the conversation.
He sat on his chair, and then asked a question he had thought of a long time ago but pushed to the back of his mind.
"By the way, why are there so many Infinity Crystals in my world? I used to think that maybe it because my world is a Blessed World that there were so many Infinity Crystals, but now I know that it's not normal at all. Twelve Infinity Crystals, artificial or not, are too many to be in one world."
Corey looked at the Paragon Ancestor with slightly furrowed brows as he himself pondered on the possible answers to his question, but the answer was something he never expected.
"It's because of a bet the old man lost to me."
Corey raised a brow in confusion. "A bet?"
The Paragon Ancestor nodded. "Yes. We had a bet many years ago, and the old man lost to me. I told him that he must place twelve Infinity Crystals on a planet of my choosing in one of his domains."
"I wanted twelve complete Infinity Crystals, but he disagreed with the bet saying that it was too much and it was actually. Twelve Infinity Crystals are not that easy to come by. So, we agreed on twelve Infinity Crystal shards, but the damned old man said he was going to place six artificial Infinity Crystal shards and six true Infinity Crystal shards."
"As you can see, I didn't agree with him. But at the end of the day, he agreed to place three Artificial Infinity Crystal fragments."
The Paragon Ancestor paused for a moment and stared at Corey who had an expression full of disbelief.
"That is the simple reason why your planet has twelve Infinity Crystal shards."
Corey remained silent for a moment, and then his brows creased up slightly.
"So, why did you choose my world? What's so special about it?... Or is this about me?"
The Paragon Ancestor chuckled softly, and he waved his hands.
"Who knows. But don't worry though. I don't intend on harming your planet, and you'll know why I chose your planet in the future. So, just sit back and do what you want to do."
Corey looked at the Paragon Ancestor with a suspicious gaze but he chose to do nothing at the end of the day.
Even if he was suspicious of what he just heard, what could he do?
Threaten or fight the Paragon Ancestor?
He couldn't do anything, so he decided to just keep quiet and go with the flow.
'There's most likely something special about New Earth, but I don't know. I have some history book of the world, and the knowledge about its previous Epoch is very intriguing, I don't think it's enough to draw the attention of beings like the Paragon Ancestor and Supreme Ancestor.'
Corey's mind became filled with a lot of thoughts and questions, but the Paragon Ancestor interrupted him.
"By the way, do you need help with your Universal Brand? If you want, I can severe the connection you have with the old man's system."
Corey subconsciously looked at his gloved left hand when he heard the words of the Paragon Ancestor.
The Universal Brand.
It was a function of the Universal System he rarely interacted with, and it was also the function that was the most crucial to Corey because it served as his connection to the Universal System.
Because he always wore his Ghost Gloves which were fingerless gloves, the level, color, and appearance of his Universal Brand was always hidden from others.
And he even assigned a Star of Consciousness to place a powerful illusion beneath the gloves and above the brand, so that anybody that saw through his Ghost Gloves would see a false brand.
Corey rubbed the top of his left hand softly, and then he smiled at the Paragon Ancestor.
"Nahh. Don't worry about it. I can remove it myself. I've thought about it for years now."
The Paragon Ancestor nonchalantly shrugged. "Alright. Just know that it won't be easy, and it's the first step you must take before anything else."
Corey nodded. "I know."
The Paragon Ancestor stood, and then he approached Corey and patted him on the shoulder.
"Alright. You should leave. I've helped you with the Infinity Crystals, and I've told you all that you need. You just need to be fearless and mad enough to succeed on the path you want to take. I'll be there when you need me, so just trust me. Alright?"
Corey gave a light smile. "Sure thing."
The Paragon Ancestor patted him once again, and then he waved his hand.
A swirling dark grey portal appeared in front of Corey, and the Paragon Ancestor nudged him inside.
"Alright. Off you go."
Corey stood and approached the portal, but before he entered the portal, he turned and looked at the Paragon Ancestor.
"Thank you... For everything."
The Paragon Ancestor chuckled. "Boy. Stop saying it like it's the last time we'll ever meet. Leave, and stop wasting my time. I have a game to play."
Corey's lips twitched when he heard that, and he subconsciously glanced at the screen which was now showing a different scene of players juggling the ball and performing different skills.
Without saying anything, he entered the portal and a second later, the portal closed.
"Finally. Now, I can focus on defeating that little demon witch."
The Paragon Ancestor cracked his fingers and looked at the screen with a cold and calculating glint in his eyes.
