The Martial Unity

Chapter 3523: The Miracle Amidst Curses

While the unconscious Rui was carried away by the whales, the rest of the world was still reeling from the consequences of his battle with Lord Shenlong. The tsunamis were just one element of the problem and were the least dangerous. Pathwalkers around the world used their power to quell the maelstrom of power that the Great Void Ocean unleashed upon the world.

The elves pushed their aquatic flora to the very limit to try and absorb the energy while the flora atop land absorbed water at tremendous rates, spitting it back into the ocean. The sheer depth of the power of the last wave of tsunamis was so intense, however, that it strained even their standard protections.

Much to the shock of the dark elves, the light elves and Mother Maeria offered their help as the latter led a joint operation to quell the environmental damage done by the battle between Rui and Lord Shenlong.

The light elves, under the renewed leadership of Mother Maeria, used the opportunity to extend some goodwill to the dark elves and take the first step to mend their broken relationship. Mother Maeria had much to offer as the most powerful Mother of Nature alive and as one of the top ten most powerful pathwalkers in existence, said to be the closest to Transcendence.

She had been vying for an opportunity to make it up to the dark elves, who were clearly displeased and angered with their former sisters on the other side of the continent. While this one step alone wasn't enough for the light elves to possibly restore and improve their relationship with the dark elves, it was a step in the direction of restoring their relationship.

Mother Maeria had spent the past few months strengthening her connection to her own people. She had grown distanced and isolated from the elves of East Genora due to the fact that her sense of the Fear had isolated her from others who simply couldn't understand what she was going through without actually experiencing it herself.

Thankfully, her meeting with Rui had helped her see the error in her ways and had completely changed her approach. She quickly began integrating herself into the community of the light elves of East Genora and began gaining more recognition as the leader of East Genoran Elven Civilization.

To her, this catastrophe, bad as it was, represented an opportunity for her to restore the broken bonds with her western sisters.

The other civilizations, however, didn't find the silver lining in this calamity at all.

The tsunamis were bad enough, but manageable because they were a temporary problem that went away the moment they dealt with it. However, what was much harder to deal with were the problems of the damage done to the ocean floor of the Great Void Ocean.

With a thorough analysis of the contours of the surface of the ocean, they could obtain an extraordinarily detailed understanding of what was going on within the depths of the ocean.

What they saw, of course, shocked every single leader in the world.

The crust beneath the ocean floor had been damaged severely as deep fissures reached the mantle, creating an outlet for lava from deep within the planet. The tremendous pressure from within the depths of the planet further exacerbated the damage as the lava desperately searched for an outlet, finding it in the damage that the Dragon Emperor had caused.

Even the preliminary analysis of the magnitude of the problem was horrifying. The degree of the damage done and the amount of lava projected to emerge from within the depths of Gaia were verging on apocalyptic. If not for the fact that it emerged within the ocean and not land, they would have been dealing with a large wave of fires, heat, and destruction. It was a catastrophe that had the potential to wipe out all life.

Initial analysis of the calamity projected that it would certainly wipe out all life in the ocean, save for the giant serpent that wrapped around the Panama Continent, because of extreme changes to the environment that no aquatic life was adapted to.

Naturally, the effect of this would not be limited only to the ocean. It would disrupt the entire biosphere across all of Gaia, including all seven species of the homo genus. The most direct impact was, of course, a spike in global warming that would disrupt the entire world, changing it tremendously in a very short amount of time.

The lava from within the mantle of the planet was heating up the waters of the Great Void Ocean like boiling water on the stove, causing the entire ocean to grow significantly warmer. Naturally, the heat would not be confined to that one ocean; it would spread as the laws of thermodynamics would expect it to.

This would mean major heating problems for the entire world, disrupting life across the entire planet.

There were also the toxic fumes that would otherwise be released into the air now being dissolved into the waters of the Great Void Ocean that would undoubtedly be spreading across the entire world, poisoning their waters.

This was a much more concrete harm to the entire world, as it would destroy countless species and annihilate as many ecosystems that were equally important for the sustenance of the biosphere as it existed.

There were many, many direct and indirect problems for the citizens of the true world. Each of them would be challenging to solve, but not impossible. As quasi-Type-Two civilizations, they had a profound amount of control over their planet through all manner of technological systems. What would have been an absolutely unavoidable apocalypse for any lesser civilization was not beyond the realm of fixing for the civilization of Gaia.

And yet, while they expected to deal with all manner of problems, direct and indirect, they could never have expected being confronted by a miracle so absurd that nobody could have ever predicted in more than a million years.

BUBBLE…

Deep from within the depths of the fissures in the ocean floor emerged a negatron particle.
