She stepped forward, parted the bushes, and stared at Lu Ren lying on the ground.

The two locked eyes, and remained silent for quite some time.

Especially seeing Lu Ren left with only a single intact left hand, his legs and right hand resembling that of an infant, her expression softened slightly.

"Mister, are you a cripple that people despised and abandoned here?"

Lu Ren raised an eyebrow but didn't immediately answer. He was surprised that her language was such pure Huaxia dialect.

Though many of the auxiliary words used were from the Warring States period, it had evolved over the years, sounding a lot like Rinon's soft accent.

He could understand.

This was quite intriguing. If Changxi's array truly teleported one to the Beidou Emperor Star light-years away, why was she still unwilling to leave the Moon until the last moment of her life?

After confirming her pure motives without any ill intent, he allowed her to act. Otherwise, she would have perished at Lu Ren's hands.

To be honest, in such an unfamiliar environment, anyone would be highly alert if someone suddenly appeared.

But Lu Ren's courage was quite substantial.

Even so, Lu Ren's only left hand rested intentionally at the back of the girl's neck. Should she do anything suspicious, Lu Ren would crush her without hesitation.

The girl muttered for quite some time while Lu Ren, lost in thought, finally asked a question.

"What's your name?"

Upon hearing Lu Ren speak, the girl perked up, hurriedly answering loudly, "My name is Erwa."

"That's your name?"

"Yes, that's my name given by my mom."

"How many people are in your family?"

"Just me."

"Grandpa Niu said if you live by the mountain, you sustain from it; if by water, you live off it. As long as this mountain forest exists, I won't starve."

"Why the name Erwa?" Lu Ren curiously asked.

"My dad said I once had a brother who died young, and he was called Dawa. So, I'm called Erwa."
