Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 132: Tower

Three days had passed quickly since they had left the sect.

The three beasts had flown nonstop the entire time, crossing mountains, valleys, and rivers without rest.

Kyrian noticed that Mei Ran and Elder Han, the oldest elder, constantly used their Qi on the flying beasts.

In addition, sometimes Mei Ran would throw a pill into the beasts' mouths. Both actions, for obvious reasons, were ways to help the beasts continue the journey without needing to land and rest.

The cold, constant wind had become a familiar thing. After a few brief conversations, silence reigned among the three beasts. Each person was lost in their own thoughts.

Only the sound of wings flapping and the slicing of air remained as time went by.

When the sun finally began to rise on the fourth day, everyone opened their eyes almost at the same time.

On the horizon line, an intense blue light rose like a beacon, piercing the clouds and spreading across the sky.

Even from a distance, the Qi coming from that direction could be clearly felt. It was dense and vibrant.

The three beasts began to gradually lower their altitude.

Soon, what had been just a blue glow was completely revealed before them.

The light came, in fact, from a large blue tower floating in the sky, emanating an ancient and powerful pressure.

Qi was constantly being expelled from the tower and swirling around it, and on the walls of the structure, one could see runes that moved constantly, changing shape and position.

Many wondered how something that massive could fly.

Around the tower, an uncountable crowd of cultivators had already gathered.

There were tents, defensive formations, and flags marking the presence of many forces, some from the Verdant Sword Domain, and others from the two nearby domains.

There were also many smaller groups and independent cultivators who continued to arrive. The ground around was already completely occupied.

The beasts of the Verdant Sword Sect began to descend even lower.

Mei Ran stood at the front of the first beast, observing the scene below.

Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the crowd and the tower.

"We almost arrived late. The other two sects are already here… and not only them," Mei Ran said in a firm tone.

Kyrian looked toward where she was staring and quickly noticed.

Those from the Scarlet Sun Sect and the Six Poisons Sect stood at two opposite points near the tower. The area around them was clear, with the crowd avoiding getting too close.

Besides them, several other flags were planted in different directions, smaller forces, family clans, and mercenary groups. Kyrian saw iron plates hanging around their necks.

Everyone stood still, watching the tower.

But with the arrival of the three beasts from the Verdant Sword Sect, everyone immediately turned their attention to them.

Being one of the leading domain forces, their presence would of course be noticed by all, especially with Mei Ran and Elder Han at the front.

The two of them exuded an impossibly sharp pressure that couldn't be ignored. The other core disciples also released their cultivations, as if to announce their presence.

Kyrian smiled faintly, finding the display of strength somehow interesting.

Then, the beasts landed in an area that the crowd quickly cleared when they saw them coming.

The wind from the wings scattered dust and small stones into the air.

As soon as the beasts touched the ground, everyone jumped down.

Now, the three major forces nearby were each in their proper places, forming a triangle around the tower, one sect at each point.

The elders of the other sects looked toward Mei Ran and gave a slight nod. It seemed that none of them intended to talk or argue at that moment.

Everyone was there for a single reason, to enter the inheritance. If they couldn't, then they would protect the younger ones after they came out.

Mei Ran was the first to leap down. The oldest elder, Han, followed right after.

The others, Kyrian, Mo Tianhai, Mo Xia, Wu Jian, Long Xue, and Shen Yu, formed a semicircle behind Mei Ran.

Her gaze swept across the entire area. It looked like it would soon turn chaotic.

It was possible to feel Qi gathering in the air above them.

Kyrian focused all his attention on the tower. He looked directly at it, curious, watching the symbols that floated around it. They moved in a way similar to the formations he had seen before, but they seemed to be on a much higher level.

Kyrian also noticed why no one was trying to approach the tower. From the ground up to the sky, near the blue tower, dozens of translucent barriers extended around it, creating a zone impossible to cross.

Each barrier flickered from time to time, emitting faint cracking sounds.

The barriers were slowly dissolving. In addition, the tower itself was not motionless as this happened.

It was slowly descending toward the ground, in a movement almost imperceptible, yet constant.

Each hour, it got closer to the surface.

By Kyrian's estimation, in just a few more hours, it would completely touch the ground.

And then, when that happened, all the barriers would disappear, and everyone would be able to enter.

"So that's why everyone's waiting," Long Xue murmured.

Mo Xia, who stood beside her, heard that. She crossed her arms and spoke in a low voice, looking in the same direction.

"That's right. Everyone's waiting for the barrier to vanish completely. When that happens, it'll be chaos."

Long Xue glanced sideways.

"Chaos?"

"Yes. Everyone wants to be the first to enter. When the inheritance fully opens, they'll all try to gain even the slightest advantage."

She then took a deep breath and continued.

"Pay attention, Long Xue. It's better for you to know who's here before it all begins," Mo Xia said, turning to her. Kyrian, curious, also paid close attention to Mo Xia's next words.

The two turned their eyes toward her.

"Starting over there," she said, pointing discreetly to the left.

Kyrian followed the direction indicated. A group of about fifteen cultivators dressed in red robes was gathered there, all wearing the uniforms of the Scarlet Sun Sect.

The pressure emanating from that group was hot and aggressive. The Qi of fire vibrated in the air, leaving the ground around them slightly scorched.

"The eleven behind the elders are the core disciples of the Scarlet Sun Sect. They all cultivate fire-based techniques."

"But the one in front is the most dangerous," Mo Xia said, indicating a man with brown hair and a cold expression.

Kyrian observed.

The man had a firm expression, sharp eyes, and kept his body perfectly still as he looked toward the tower. Kyrian, with his eyes, could distinguish the surrounding heat, it was clear he was far above the others.

"He's the direct disciple of the leader of the Scarlet Sun Sect," Mo Xia explained.

"They say his talent is the greatest in the last hundred years for the fire path. His name is Yan Hui."
