Building The Strongest Family

Chapter 323: The Stand off At The Tomb

The wind howled through the valley, a haunting melody that danced over broken stones and parched grass.

At the entrance of the ancient tomb, three groups stood frozen in place, each warrior poised for battle, weapons raised, fingers itching on triggers.

One spark could ignite chaos, drowning the valley in flames and blood.

Leading his convoy was Arthur, clad in the Shadow Lord Regalia that hummed softly beneath his armor.

His visor reflected the figures of Ravik and the newcomer who looks like an arrogant young master from some big family.

His men behind him elite team with an unwavering focus, rifles aimed with expressions as hard as granite.

Across from them was Ravik ,leader of the Crimson Jackals.

With a wolfish grin stretching across his face and a crimson scarf fluttering in the breeze, he radiated an electric thrill for violence.

His band of mercenaries shifted restlessly around him, eager for bloodshed.

Then there this arrogant young man with sharp eyes cloaked in an air of quiet authority.

Surrounded by disciplined guards who moved with military precision, he exuded an aristocratic chill.

Heavy silence descended on all three groups as they looked at each other warines in their cold eyes.

One of the young master's men leaned close to him, voice low yet piercing through the stillness.

"Young Master Caelum, what should we do?"

The title echoed echoed through the valley, drawing attention from both Arthur and Ravik.

Arthur's gaze narrowed. So his name is was Caelum huh!.

Arthur tilted his head slightly toward Ravik and spoke flatly.

"You were following me all this time."

Ravik's grin widened further as he rolled his shoulders lazily.

"Following? Oh no! 'Investigating' sounds much more fitting. Two massive groups marching into the Ayzion Range? That's just asking for trouble."

His tone dripped with playful menace,a predator toying with its prey before delivering the final blow.

Ethan stood beside Arthur, rifle steady in hand.

"Cute excuse," he snapped sharply. "Stalking us for days is more than just investigating."

Ravik chuckled lightly while brushing imaginary dust off his jacket.

"You wound me! I simply like to be thorough."

Tension thickened like fog rolling in over water.

Then Caelum stepped forward, just one step, and every gun in the valley swung toward him with metallic clicks that rang out loudly against the silence.

But he didn't flinch; instead, he surveyed Arthur and Ravik with eyes sharper than daggers.

"Before you two squabble like children," he said coldly, "you should know who I am."

Arthur remained silent; his quietude was a weapon unto itself.

Ravik laughed again, tilting his head with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Bold. I like that." His gaze shifted to Arthur, scrutinizing him intently.

"You haven't said much, but you stand there like you own the place. You must be someone important. After all…"

His grin sharpened into something almost predatory. "The famous Aegis-7 doesn't work for nobodies."

Arthur raised an eyebrow at that, intrigued but cautious.

Before he could respond, Ethan shot back with a mix of disbelief and challenge, "How the hell do you know Aegis-7?"

Ravik rolled his eyes dramatically as if insulted by the question.

"Please! Everyone worth their salt in Noctis knows them. One of the top PMCs, undefeated record, ghosts on the battlefield! You people are legends."

On Caelum's side, his right-hand man leaned in closer, whispering urgently.

"Aegis-7… elite private force… contracted only by top-tier clients."

Caelum's brow lifted slightly in surprise as he turned to study Arthur more closely.

Silence enveloped them; a new weight settled over the standoff, recognition mixed with calculation.

The valley held its breath as each group sized up the other, silent calculations racing behind their eyes.

---

Arthur just stood there as he looked closely at both Ravik and Caelum, the HUD overlays flickered in his visor.

As various thoughts raced through his mind,"Ravik Thorne,a figure from the Crimson Jackals. Loud and arrogant but undeniably dangerous,he thrives on chaos; it's written all over him. That's a man who kills without hesitation.

Then there's this Caelum, wealth and resources wrapped in military discipline. He's no mere noble brat; his soldiers move with precision borne of training and patience. He'll play the long game.

Both are threats but of different kinds: one is fire; the other is ice.

Neither can be underestimated. If we fight here the casualties will be heavy.

My role… is to endure and outlast".

---

Ravik still have that smile plastered on his face but his mind was racing with Thoughts,"This man...although i don't know his name and face is...cold as ice and unflinching, just like the Aegis-7.

Now that's interesting! Whoever he is, he's either rich or well-connected or both! Dangerous indeed, the kind of man I'd love to gut or share a drink with.

And then there's this spoiled brat Caelum the little noble prince with sharp tongue and sharper eyes but does he have what it takes when blood starts flowing?

He wants this tomb for himself? Cute,he'll bleed for it.

Me? I'll wait patiently while they show their cards before I take my shot".

---

Caelum's mind was also racing with various thoughts as he glanced at Ravik and Arthur,"This man whatever his… name is must be something else to be able to hire, Aegis-7 to follows him like a shadow.

That signals power—l and danger. His silence speaks volumes, hiding secrets that words could never convey. I'll be keeping a close eye on him.

Then there's this arrogant Ravik Thorne. Undisciplined trash, sure, but don't underestimate his cunning.

His arrogance is palpable, but so is his knack for survival,he thrives in chaos like this; ignoring him would be a mistake.

This tomb is mine, this tomb is my ticket to beat my brothers and sisters to the family inheritance, it is my rightful claim. I refuse to let mercenaries or criminals snatch away what belongs to me. Not while I draw breath".

---

The tension shattered when Caelum finally broke the silence, his voice resonating with authority that demanded attention.

"I don't care who either of you are," he declared fiercely.

"This tomb, the tomb of Emperor Vaerion VII, belongs to me! No one else will lay a finger on it."

His words hit like thunderclaps in the still air. Especially to Ravik and his men

Ravik's grin faltered for just a moment before morphing into wild amusement; his eyes widened with realization.

Then he threw back his head and laughed,a sound that echoed through the valley like an ominous bell.

"Emperor Vaerion VII… the Storm Emperor himself… buried here? Hah! Hahaha!"

His laughter was laced with madness and greed,a triumphant declaration of discovery.

"So this is what we've stumbled upon! I've hit the jackpot this time!"

Caelum's fists clenched tightly as anger coursed through him; he glared at Ravik with seething hatred. "Shut your mouth."

But Ravik brushed off Caelum's fury as if it were nothing more than a passing breeze.

His gaze slid past Caelum and settled on the towering stone pillars framing the tomb's entrance,an insatiable hunger lighting up his eyes as he absorbed every detail.

A spark ignited within him: greed mixed with excitement,a dangerous cocktail.

Slowly, he turned back to Arthur and Caelum, his smirk sharpening into something predatory.

"Well, well," he taunted, "looks like fate has brought us all together at this treasure trove." His grin widened ominously.

"But tell me… who walks away with it?"

The atmosphere crackled with tension, three factions converging on one ancient tomb and its secrets.

The storm was about to break...
