Chapter 2109: Dragon and Phoenix Tournament

Tang Shaoyang stood at the edge of the Yang Clan's town, staring down at the dark space. This was Zara's solution: moving the whole town, along with the energy vein below the hill, to a separate space. Of course, she didn't forget to put a barrier at the edge of the territory. The curious kids might fall without the barrier.

Of course, she would set up the permanent portal for the Yang Clan, but they had not yet decided where to place it. Preferably, they wanted to put it in a hidden area. That was for later discussion. With this, they had secured the Yang Clan, keeping them safe from the Beast Guardian Quan.

Tang Shaoyang stayed there for a while, amazed by what Zara did.

[You got a wonderful wife, heh?] Vandir could not help but tease Tang Shaoyang.

"A wonderful and powerful wife indeed," Tang Shaoyang agreed.

Zara was one of the spirits that showed progression, even though she was a spirit. She could not raise her level, could not add more Talent, or even upgrade her bloodline, yet she kept coming up with new things.

She mastered the Shadow Power, then she kept coming up with new stuff, and her mastery of Space Power.

She had another deadly power, the Death Power. He never saw her using it in an actual battle, so he didn't know her progress in Death Power. He admitted Zara might catch up to Avyn soon. This got him to wonder about himself, comparing himself with Zara, Avyn, and Vandir.

They never really had a fight when they had to use everything. A spar could not determine who was stronger. Only a life and death battle could determine where they desperately try to win and survive. That was something that would never happen.

"But this would give me more freedom. A genius indeed," Tang Shaoyang could move by himself and let the others stay in this space.

Guardian Quan stood in front of what was supposed to be Yang Town, the territory of the Yang Clan. There was supposed to be a town under the Yang Clan, yet what he saw was just a pit the size of a town. Not just the town, the hill that contained the energy vein is also gone.

Next to him were Guardian Ding and Guardian Xiong. They came when Guardian Quan told them about the mysterious force that hid in the Heaven Founder's territory. They came to check that this force was not a variable that would disturb their plan, or even attack them during the war against the Murim Alliance.

They visited what remained of the Bloodshadow Pavilion. There was no body, but the buildings were leveled to the ground as well. When they could not find the attacker, as Guardian Quan's subordinates reported, they decided to visit the Yang Clan.

This hidden force came out after the Bloodshadow Pavilion attacked the Yang Clan. They thought the Yang Clan might know something about this hidden force, but what they found was a massive pit.

"It seems your underling offended the people they are not supposed to," Guardian Ding twisted his mustache as he said that. From his eyes, it could be seen that he was amazed by what he found.

"They are bandits. You can't expect them to have a brain. They thought they could do whatever they wanted just because they had us as their backer," Guardian Xiong harsher with his remark.

He was annoyed that a group of bandits had almost drawn a powerful enemy against them. Not because he was afraid of this hidden force, but it was the timing. This was the most crucial time for their plan. They delayed the plan after Ouyang Biya's death, and they could not afford another delay, or they might miss their chance.

Guardian Quan could not say anything to refute both. He knew too well about the Bloodshadow Pavilion's nature. They were nasty and unruly; they didn't have a line they would not cross just because he backed them up.

He knew that too well, and he picked them up for that reason. He could dispose of them easily when their job was done. That was why he took them in.

"We will investigate the area for a few days. Let's hope we find them," Guardian Xiong made a call as he ordered his subordinates to investigate the suspicious area, an area that might become a hiding spot for this hidden force.

Tang Shaoyang had changed his outfit, wearing a white long robe given by the Yang Clan and a patch to cover his black eye. It was different from the God Realm; having demon-like eyes would make him stand out, and not a few would attack him for that. That was why he agreed to wear this uncomfortable eye-patch.

The eye-patch didn't really disturb his vision since he had Chaos Eyes. He could see through the eye-patch. It was just the feeling of it that irritated him, that he kept wanting to throw it away.

"Just bear with it," Liang Suyin kept catching her husband's hand from taking it off. She stayed next to him to make sure he didn't take it off.

Liang Suyin also changed her cloth armor into a red dress, matching her hair color. His robe was quite loose; he was more comfortable that way, but her dress was tight, showing the shape of her body.

Tang Shaoyang smiled as he held her hand as they walked side by side. They were currently in the city called The Golden Crane, a city governed by the Dongfang Family. The force that replaced the Ouyang Family in the 8 Families in the Murim Alliance.

Ouyang Biya led them through the crowd along with Zhao Zhong, Bai Yuan, and Tian Donghai. The rest stayed in the Yang Clan's estate. Kate and Yu nerded together, studying the available techniques and information about alchemy that was available in the Yang Clan's estate.

Aleesa and Ashley stayed behind as well, not because they wanted to, but because of their eye-catching appearance. Ashley looked like a foreigner, and an elf didn't exist in this Sacred Realm. They learned the basics of cultivation under Yang Bao's guidance.

The reason they were here was not to avenge Ouyang Biya, not for her personal matters. It was because this city would host the Dragon and Phoenix Tournament.

The Dragon and Phoenix Tournament was a tournament for the younger generations of the Murim Alliance to show off, a prestigious event for the faction under the Murim Alliance.

The event would be hosted by one of the big factions under the Murim Alliance, and the Dongfang Family would hold the tournament this time.

There were two different categories: the Phoenix Clash, where only those 17 years old and younger could join. The second category was the Dragon Clash, where the maximum age was 21 years old. The restriction was not the cultivation rank, but the age.

Of course, the reason Tang Shaoyang came here was not to watch this tournament. The reason was that this city would become Heaven Founder's first target. The Dragon and Phoenix Tournament was where the war would start.

Not because of Ouyang Biya's grudge, but because the Heaven Founder wanted to get rid of the Murim Alliance's young talent. That was the main target, the sole reason why the tournament became the first target.

Tang Shaoyang enjoyed the festive atmosphere with Liang Suyin. The street was decorated with red lanterns. A lot of food stalls and accessory stalls were set up on the side. Liang Suyin enjoyed the atmosphere, while he enjoyed the food and the company.

Zhao Zhong, Bai Yuan, and Tian Donghai visited the place that sold weapons. They seemed to be more interested in the festival. In terms of look, these weapons look good, but in quality, they have no way to match the dwarf-crafted weapon.

The trio quickly lost interest when they found out about that. Ouyang Biya was the only one who kept her somber and didn't speak a single word ever since they entered the city.

"Relax. Your time will come soon. Why the face?" Tang Shaoyang could not help but say, "You are too focused on your vengeance. That's not good. You should think about the future instead. What do you want to do after the vengeance? If you don't have a purpose, you will feel empty afterward."

Ouyang Biya halted her steps and glanced at Tang Shaoyang for a moment. She was thinking about it seriously before rolling her eyes. She realized that her future was with him; wherever he went, she would go there as well because she was a spirit now, not a living person. That was the reason why she rolled her eyes.

They arrived at the venue. Today was the second day of the Dragon and Phoenix Tournament. Thousands of participants were reduced to hundreds. They would reduce the number down to 128 today for both categories. Then those 128 participants would enter the main event, where each duel would be held one by one instead of fighting simultaneously.
