Aura Nova's feet touched the earth as she landed with a deft, controlled touch. "I guess even that couldn't kill you," she said, her gaze fixed on Kingsley, who now stood whole again, as good as new.
'Even his regeneration can heal his essence,' Aura Nova thought to herself. Normally, regeneration at their level could heal surface physical injuries with ridiculous ease, but injuries to the essence were different; they required time, preparation, and immense resources. Kingsley, however, needed none of that. His body itself was an independent weapon. It needed nothing. It depended on nothing. It simply was.
If there was anything Aura Nova took pride in, it was her sword techniques. She had expected the very first technique she used to kill Kingsley outright, yet the man had managed to survive by forcibly constricting his muscles and blocking the attack with his bare hand. The outcome unsettled her more than she cared to admit.
'I might have to get a bit serious,' Kingsley thought to himself as he stared at Aura Nova. Although he didn't voice it aloud, even he had to admit that Aura Nova's sword technique had been extremely dangerous. If it hadn't been for his swift reflexes and instinctive reaction, he could have genuinely died.
The next moment, Kingsley's lips parted as he spoke.
Universal Limitation: Unseal
At those words, the air stilled for a split millisecond before it exploded outward. An overwhelming golden pillar of energy tore down from the heavens above and slammed straight into Kingsley's body, as though blessing him with something unknown, something ancient and unfathomably vast.
Kingsley's body seemed drunk in that moment. It twitched violently, swelled unnaturally, then reduced back to its normal size. In the next instant, the golden pillar collapsed inward and vanished as though its task had been completed.
Universal Limitation: Unseal, was a technique Kingsley had developed after his defeat at Anthony's hands, when he had sought to truly understand the gap between them. The technique forcefully called upon the Universe itself, forcibly uplifting the chains that bound him, pushing him toward something more, something beyond his previous limits.
Kingsley's new form revealed itself. A massive golden circle floated behind him like a divine halo. His entire body radiated a golden hue, his hair standing upright as though an unseen wind constantly blew against it. A small circular diagram manifested on his forehead as he stood there, utterly calm, without the slightest change in expression.
Aura Nova's eyes narrowed as she studied him. She couldn't understand this new form of Kingsley's. Even now, even after the transformation, she still couldn't sense any form of energy emanating from him. It was as though he existed outside the normal frameworks of perception.
[Nova Sword Technique: Crescent Of The Endless]
Her hand blurred out of reality as though swimming through numerous overlapping layers of existence. In the next instant, an endless number of crescent-shaped blue Sword Intent slashes filled the forest, converging from every direction around Kingsley, ready to hack him apart without mercy.
Kingsley, whose eyes had been closed, opened them ever so slowly. His eyes remained golden, but now they shone brighter, as though he could see the hidden truths of the world itself, truths normally concealed from all living beings.
[Universal Technique: Fist Type: Erasing Wave]
At those words, his entire body flickered for a brief moment before stabilizing again, as though he had never taken a step forward or backward. But after that flicker, every single attack converging around him, each one poised to tear him apart, was erased from reality in perfect, absolute totality. There was no explosion. No smoke. No wind. No shockwave. There was only erasure.
Aura Nova stood frozen, stunned and momentarily unable to comprehend what had just occurred. But Kingsley didn't wait for her to process it. He lowered himself into a martial stance and immediately deployed his next technique.
[Universal Technique: Palm Type: Samsara Cycle]
His hands moved in opposing circular motions, forming the shape of a wheel. In the next instant, reality itself glowed gold and black. A massive circle, half golden and half pitch black, materialized before Kingsley. Without missing a beat, he thrust his palm forward.
The entire separate plane paused for a fleeting moment, as though existence itself was deliberating whether it could withstand an attack of this magnitude. Then, in the very next instant, everything snapped back into place. The air screamed for mercy, but there was no one present who would grant it. Reality and existence exploded outward in an all-consuming, sundering madness, tearing violently toward Aura Nova.
Aura Nova didn't need to be told what would happen if she tried to face this head-on. The only possible outcome was death. She didn't dare attempt to tank it with her Sword Intent. Instead, she immediately tapped into her Omniedit ability, space bending obediently to her will as she vanished from her position in an instant.
The moment she left, the golden and black energy swallowed everything in her former path. Trees, sand, grass, rock, dirt, mountains, and hills, nothing was spared. It didn't matter how insignificant or how massive something was; if it lay within the attack's trajectory, it was erased. A colossal mushroom-shaped cloud of dust rose toward the sky, blotting out the astral bodies above and staining the heavens themselves.
With a single attack, Kingsley had erased half of what seemed to be an endless forested plain. The land lay in utter ruin beneath the weight of a single technique.
'What sort of technique is this?' Aura Nova thought to herself. But even as the thought crossed her mind, Kingsley had already closed the distance between them. There was no displacement of air, no shift in wind currents. It was as though even the separate plane itself couldn't sense his presence.
Without hesitation, his fist tore forward, screaming toward Aura Nova's head with the force of a rocket. Yet Aura Nova didn't dodge. She simply stared at the incoming blow and spoke calmly.
Omniedit: Command: Logic Hijack.
In the next instant, the fist stopped, halting mere inches from her face. The usual shockwave never followed. Instead, Kingsley felt a titanic impact slam directly into his own face with world-rending force. His head snapped backward as his body was hurled violently across the sky.
Aura Nova had hijacked the logic behind his punch. Although the fist itself had stopped midair, the impact that was meant to be transferred onto her, had the attack landed, was instead redirected back onto Kingsley himself. That was the reality of his current predicament.
At this moment, Kingsley had no hope. Aura Nova had activated her Omniedit innate ability.
This spar was as good as over.
