The entire separate plane had fallen into a state that could only be described as perfect madness and absolute ruin. The air itself was choking, thick with suffocating pressure and acrid fumes. Space had partially melted, distorted into warped layers that refused to fully stabilize.
The earth below had been reduced to nothing but a churning sea of molten lava, cracks glowing white-hot beneath rivers of fire. Smoke and toxic fumes filled every corner of the plane, obscuring vision and drowning the world in a suffocating haze.
Even the regenerative ability of the separate plane, once near-instantaneous, had slowed drastically beneath the overwhelming might of Anthony's attack. The world no longer snapped back into place as it usually did. Reality hesitated, strained, and groaned, as though it feared repairing itself too quickly lest it be torn apart again.
Anthony hovered above it all, floating serenely over the carnage he had wrought. His posture was relaxed, his presence calm, almost detached. His expression remained perfectly neutral, unreadable, while his sky-blue eyes were fixed in a single direction, as though he were waiting for something inevitable to happen.
From the direction of his gaze, space rippled unnaturally, unfurling like the blooming petal of a flower. The fabric of reality peeled open, and from within that distortion, Lucian stepped out, his movements staggered, unsteady.
Pain tore through every inch of Lucian's body. His form was battered and broken, deep injuries marring his skin as blood seeped freely from countless wounds. Yet despite the devastation, his eyes still burned fiercely with determination and defiance. Even after hiding within a layered dimensional space, Anthony's attack had still reached him.
That fact alone was not surprising. Even Klaus's pocket space had been destroyed, let alone Lucian's far weaker dimensional refuge.
The only reason Lucian had survived at all was because he had continuously poured enormous amounts of mana into maintaining his layered dimension throughout the entirety of Anthony's spell. Had he faltered even for a moment, he would have been erased completely. It was the sole reason he was merely injured rather than dead. After all, Anthony's attack had torn through space itself with absurd ease.
Lucian's innate regenerative ability activated immediately. Flesh knit together, wounds closed, and broken bones realigned in seconds. However, the damage to his essence, the core of his existence, was far too immense to be healed naturally.
With nothing more than a thought, Lucian activated his Event Rewriting ability.
Reality obeyed.
In an instant, his damaged essence was restored as though the injuries had never occurred. He didn't stop there. He rewrote the state of his mana as well, immediately restoring his reserves to full capacity. This was the method Lucian had devised to keep up with Anthony, to continuously rewrite events themselves, endlessly replenishing his mana and effectively granting himself infinite reserves.
With his body and mana restored to their peak, Lucian lifted his gaze and stared at Anthony, who continued floating as though he owned the universe itself. Without wasting any more time, Lucian activated a series of abilities he had copied over countless battles.
Dimensional Lock
His voice echoed through the shattered separate plane. Instantly, space around Anthony warped violently, folding inward and locking around him, attempting to pin him in place and hold him immobile.
Anthony did not struggle. He did not even react. He simply watched Lucian's attack with calm indifference.
Cosmic Severance
As those words left Lucian's lips, everything halted. It was as though the cosmos themselves had frozen. In the next moment, a colossal slash erupted from Lucian's position, tearing through space as it raced toward Anthony, aiming to cleave him apart where he stood. Dimensional Lock had already been activated to ensure there would be no escape.
But Anthony didn't need to escape.
Escape? What a joke.
Dimensional Lock did have an effect on him, it restricted space around his form, but as the Cosmic Severance tore toward him, Anthony merely raised a hand and casually slapped it aside, as though swatting away an annoying insect. The attack rebounded instantly, ripping back toward Lucian with even greater speed, its power amplified by Anthony's interference.
Lucian didn't dare stand there and watch. He knew all too well that Cosmic Severance could cut through nearly anything. Without hesitation, he chose the simplest option, teleportation. With a flicker, he vanished from his position, leaving the rebounding slash to tear through the already unstable separate plane, further destabilizing reality.
The moment Lucian reappeared, his eyes widened.
A presence stood beside him.
Shock flashed through his mind as he wondered how Anthony had arrived so quickly. He immediately tried to move, but it was already too late. Anthony's fist was in motion.
With a world-crushing impact, Anthony's punch slammed into Lucian's stomach. Space buckled around the point of contact, and the shockwave rippled outward violently. But Lucian didn't simply take the hit. Since he was already within close range and unable to dodge, he counterattacked instinctively.
Erasing Touch
It was an ability that allowed him to erase anything he touched with his fingertips from total reality. However, before his fingers could even make contact with Anthony's hand, Lucian felt something horrifying.
His palm disconnected from his wrist.
Anthony had already anticipated the move before Lucian himself fully committed to it.
Blood exploded outward as Lucian's severed hand fell away. His body was launched backward, crashing violently into the molten earth below. A massive sinkhole formed upon impact as his body skidded to a halt amidst lava and shattered terrain.
But Lucian didn't remain down. He rose instantly, forcing himself back into motion. Before he could take more than two steps, Anthony's voice filled the air, calm, cold, absolute.
Cosmic Severance
Unlike the single strike Lucian had unleashed earlier, Anthony released a barrage. Hundreds of slashes filled the air in an instant, tearing toward Lucian from all directions, each one seeking to claim a piece of him.
Lucian's lips twitched. He had used the attack first, yet Anthony had copied it instantly, improved it, and now wielded it against him with overwhelming mastery.
As the slashes closed in around him like a grid-like execution net, Lucian vanished again, teleporting away in desperation. But to his absolute horror, the attacks were already there.
Waiting.
In the next instant, the barrage slammed into him at point-blank range with pinpoint accuracy. His body was torn apart violently, flesh and meat shredding as blood sprayed into the air like a crimson storm. The slashes ravaged through him mercilessly, leaving destruction in their wake.
Lucian did not hesitate, he activated another copied ability immediately.
Reality Anchor
Mana pulsed violently, and reality bent backward, snapping toward the point where Lucian had anchored his existence moments earlier, rewinding the damage and forcibly restoring him to a prior state before the fatal impact could fully claim him.
