The Stone Slab Wheelcart designed by White Ivy has a stronger transporting capacity in the Starship Passage than even the Dominating Throne.
The first trip completed the transport of all the Origin Force Food.
Dragon Cypress stayed behind to coordinate the Blue Ants in Refinement with Fragrant Cypress.
Red Peach, Blue Catalpa, Snakebark Maple, and Grass Dragon made another run, transporting both the Source Stones and the Metal Cans over.
It took two days; Dragon Cypress and Fragrant Cypress directed the Blue Ants to season and can the goods, and finally took them home on the last trip.
Once the wheelcart was used up, the few metal parts were disassembled and taken back; the wheels and stone slabs shaped by the Earth System Abilities were simply discarded.
...
"100 cans of Origin Force Honey, marked at 1000 Source Stones per can, 100,000 Source Stones."
"40 cans of Origin Force Honey, marked at 2000 Source Stones per can, 80,000 Source Stones."
"Southern Sour Jujube and Scarletlight Honey together total 60,000 Source Stones."
"Adding up, that's 240,000 Source Stones."
"24 times 0.8, White Ivy Mountain Lord, you need to pay me 192,000 Source Stones."
"You brought 10,000 Source Stones in cash, and all kinds of Origin Force Food worth 170,000 Source Stones, for a total of 180,000."
"White Ivy Mountain Lord, you owe me 12,000 Source Stones, right?"
All goods were counted and delivered, and Dragon Cypress tallied up every account in detail.
Before coming, White Ivy had calculated again and again; the total was about right, so she promptly replied, "That's correct!"
White Ivy: "Shall I give you the Spider King Silk Scrolls?"
Dragon Cypress: "That's acceptable."
White Ivy pulled out a Spider Silk Bag and opened it. Inside was a dark metal cylinder. Opening it, there was a thick stack of Spider King Silk Scrolls in 1000 Source Stone denominations, rolled into a tube.
"Wow! My most, most, most respected White Ivy Mountain Lord—turns out you were a hidden millionaire all along!"
Grass Dragon squeezed forward, trying to pinch two scrolls away with the front legs.
"Move! Move! Quit messing around!"
White Ivy used all four legs to swat and drive Grass Dragon away, and under Grass Dragon's envious gaze, boldly counted out 12 scrolls and handed them to Dragon Cypress.
Dragon Cypress glanced them over briefly, touched them with a tentacle, and signaled no problem.
This year, once they part, they will never meet again.
White Ivy was reluctant, in no hurry to leave, so she stayed to chat idly with Dragon Cypress, making small talk.
Until night fell.
—See you next year.
—Goodbye, Dragon Cypress Ant King~
—Blue Catalpa, Snakebark Maple, see you next year.
With brief farewells, White Ivy led Red Peach away.
This Little Golden Mantis seemed to have picked up White Ivy's mannerisms, bouncing along with every step.
"There are four seaside cliffs in the Dulai Flame Spider Kingdom. The year before last, Lupine and I were even trying to deduce which cliff White Ivy would jump off from."
"Now she's found an extremely clever Little Golden Mantis for company. Losing money is out of the question; by the look of things, she's going to strike it rich. I feel genuinely satisfied by that."
Grass Dragon watched the departing backs, sourly griping aloud.
Extremely clever? Dragon Cypress caught a hint of warning in Grass Dragon's words, reflected on it, and realized it was true!
The Little Golden Mantis warrior called Red Peach looked simple and didn't say much, but every time it spoke, it hit the crux of the matter.
And as for Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple…
Dragon Cypress reconsidered and let it go.
For a long time to come, his trades with White Ivy would be fixed anyway.
Having a clever little warrior at White Ivy's side set his mind at ease as well.
...
In the night.
Eight eyes gleaming candle-yellow appeared. Melde walked over.
"See, I told you, you could've just gone straight to Dragon Cypress to ask," Grass Dragon muttered.
"These last two years, White Ivy hasn't lost out?" Melde asked.
Grass Dragon: "Not only didn't lose, actually made quite a bit."
Melde: "As long as there's no loss. Then we needn't worry about her."
Melde stared at the roll of Spider King Silk Scrolls in Dragon Cypress's claw for two seconds, then glanced at Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple behind him.
"Greetings, Mountain Lord Melde!"
"I'm Blue Catalpa."
"I'm Snakebark Maple."
"We're Sky Ox Warriors born in the Dragon Cypress Territory."
Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple greeted him and introduced themselves.
Each carried a petite Spider Silk Bag and handed them over.
500 Divine-Given Fruit-Scented Orchid Seeds.
180 Divine-Given Gorgon Fruit Seeds.
Melde took them, gave a quick look, and said, "Dragon Cypress, let's settle at a round 9,000 Source Stones. The 4,000 Source Stones you borrowed before, since I couldn't come last year, I'll still count two years of interest, so principal plus interest is 4,400 Source Stones."
"That leaves 4,600 Source Stones..."
Melde paused, then launched into a string of questions: "Didn't you say you and Ink Orchid live in a very cramped patch of Land of Origin Force? So why do you have two little warriors now? Mid-Level Age Period One? Are you planning to keep them? Life Seed plants need to be spaced out when sowing, maintain enough distance to avoid interfering with each other, especially Divine-Given Seeds. It's best not to plant any other Life Seed plants within a kilometer radius…"
Dragon Cypress: "Just barely fits."
Blue Catalpa: "Fits."
Snakebark Maple: "Fits just right."
"Fine, then—"
Melde's eyes flicked again to the roll of Spider King Silk Scrolls in Dragon Cypress's claw.
Dragon Cypress lifted his claw and handed it to Melde, generously saying, "12 scrolls, 12,000 Source Stones. Give me 1,600 Source Stones in cash; help repay 6,000 Source Stones to the Seven-Leaf Mountain Lord; then bring out all your goods and let me have a look—I want to purchase a batch of premium Origin Force Food!"
...
Dragon Cypress taught Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple to recognize all types of Origin Force Food and get familiar with the prices. They spent half the night and finally selected a precious batch, filling a big sack to the brim.
"Melde, about the sowing of Divine-Given Seeds you mentioned, I might really have run into a problem."
After checking the goods, Dragon Cypress spoke grimly.
Melde didn't reply.
Grass Dragon asked, "What's the trouble?"
Dragon Cypress: "Both the Divine-Given Gorgon Fruit Seed and the Deep Blue God-Given Seed are aquatic plants. Back then, Ink Orchid and I nearly risked our lives just to dig out one reservoir. We followed a low-lying valley, using the terrain, and built a reservoir 100 to 200 meters wide and about 500 meters long, with 300 meters between the Divine-Given Seeds. For now, they don't interfere. Even at Mountain Lord Level, it suffices. But I worry, once we reach Evolution Lord Level…"
Grass Dragon: "???"
Grass Dragon, who had sprawled lazily on the ground, now sat bolt upright.
Melde said angrily, "I knew it!"
Dragon Cypress said helplessly, "Given Ink Orchid and my evolution back then…even with where we are now and Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple helping, it's still hard to dig out a second reservoir."
Grass Dragon said gravely, "That's a serious problem!"
Melde said, "While you're a Mountain Lord Level Ant King, you must relocate and separate them. Otherwise, once you evolve to Lord-Level Ant King and both Divine-Given Seeds evolve together and compete for Origin Force, one is sure to die."
Melde thought about it then said, "It's not unsolvable. Dragon Cypress, Grass Dragon, do you remember what I mentioned to you before…"
Grass Dragon said word by word, "One-Glimpse Flower, One-Glimpse Fruit."
Melde: "I'll try to bring it up with Spider King Spurge. Deep Blue is a Superior Grade Divine-Given Seed, and its future potential is no less than Divine Grade. Both Spider King Spurge and Aconite Spider King should be willing to vouch for you. If you have one more Spider King vouch, you'll be eligible to bid in the auction."
Melde sighed, "However, the price of a One-Glimpse Fruit, Dragon Cypress, is probably beyond your means."
Dragon Cypress: "It's not a big problem. Ink Orchid managed to breed a new Cuihua Hanlan Divine-Given Seed through hybridization…"
"Another Divine-Given Seed?!"
Melde jumped, both delighted and wary, quickly asking, "You didn't tell Seven-Leaf Mountain Lord, right?"
Dragon Cypress: "Preliminarily determined to be Wood Element, most likely with Elemental Ability enhancement. Seven-Leaf Mountain Lord and Grass Dragon each get half."
Nothing for me? Melde: "..."
Melde knew the two had been close since childhood, thought a moment, and then cheerfully said, "That's a fair arrangement."
Melde mused aloud, "From what I know, to consume a One-Glimpse Fruit there's a requirement—the minimum is Mountain Lord Level evolution."
"Also, from what I know, auction prices for the One-Glimpse Fruit fluctuate quite a lot, usually between 2 and 4 million Source Stones, sometimes over 4 million in fierce competition."
"Dragon Cypress, with your current finances, you're far from affording it, and your evolution isn't anywhere near enough either. No rush; plan for this after you're Mountain Lord Level."
After saying this, Melde grumbled, "Dragon Cypress, look at you, being so careless about such an important thing as Divine-Given Seeds—losing millions of Source Stones for nothing! Originally, you and Ink Orchid could've comfortably coasted as Mountain Lords and easily evolved to Lord Level. Now, with this loss, just advancing as Mountain Lords will set you back twenty or thirty years."
"It's fine, Ink Orchid and I are still young."
Dragon Cypress replied breezily, then shifted the topic, sighing, "Melde, now the deal's done, when I go back I'll need to enter my evolution sleep. After this year's parting, you and I won't see each other again…"
