The Supreme Martial Expert of the Female CEO

Chapter 839: Hostility

"May I ask, as your ally, what exactly do I need to do?" Ling Feng couldn't help but ask.

Saint Di Anfu smiled faintly. "Don't worry, it's absolutely a good thing. But as for the specifics, let's wait until we meet our Archbishop to discuss."

Very soon, the two arrived in front of a massive cathedral. The cathedral had already been occupied by the Papal Court of Light. Inside, aside from members of the Papal Court of Light, there were no outsiders at all.

"This is one of our Papal Court of Light's bases in Paris!" Saint Di Anfu said with a smile. "If you ever have troubles you can't resolve and wish to seek my help, feel free to come here, alright?"

Ling Feng was preparing a retort, but a cold gaze suddenly landed on him.

Ling Feng's expression stiffened. Such a blatant display of hostility toward him—there weren't many people like this.

Looking up, he saw a young knight on the second floor of the cathedral glaring at him with venomous eyes.

"Who's this fool? Got a grudge against me?" Ling Feng noticed the mixture of hatred and fleeting admiration in the knight's gaze. Suddenly, he understood.

"Saint Di Anfu, hold on a second!" Ling Feng called out to her.

"What's the matter?" Saint Di Anfu asked, a bit puzzled.

"There's a piece of grass on your head. Let me get it for you!" Ling Feng said as he stepped forward, lightly brushing her head with his right hand.

Saint Di Anfu's face turned slightly red. Ling Feng's motion was a bit too intimate, but she didn't realize that she felt no aversion to his behavior—just a hint of bashful embarrassment.

Sure enough, when the young knight saw Ling Feng acting so intimately with the Bright Saintess, his cheeks puffed up in anger, and the fury in his eyes seemed ready to incinerate Ling Feng!

"To harbor feelings of admiration for Saint Di Anfu—this is certainly not the conduct of a proper knight!" Ling Feng smirked slightly.

"Haven't you done enough?" Saint Di Anfu said softly. "This is still a church!"

Ling Feng feigned remorse and replied, "Oops, my bad. I must have been mistaken."

Saint Di Anfu rolled her eyes at Ling Feng. With the skills of a Demi-God Domain expert, making mistakes like this? Only a fool would believe him!

True to her title as the Bright Saintess, even her eye-roll carried an inexplicable allure that made one itch to tease her further.

"Let's head inside!" Saint Di Anfu said, leading Ling Feng through the doors.

Once inside, the Bright Saintess turned to a knight and asked, "Where is the Archbishop?"

"The Archbishop has just returned and is currently on the third floor," one of the knights responded respectfully.

Saint Di Anfu nodded slightly and said, "Let's go meet our head for this operation—Archbishop Berkeley!"

Walking through the nave, Saint Di Anfu led Ling Feng up the stairs to the third floor.

During this time, Ling Feng curiously examined the surrounding carvings and murals, which all depicted stories and characters from the Holy Bible. Though there were no priests present, the atmosphere was still solemn, serene, and sacred.

"The Papal Court of Light's ability to spread their doctrine worldwide is truly impressive," Ling Feng thought to himself. He keenly sensed that the church housed a spiritual formation.

Ordinary people entering this space would instinctively revere the murals and open their hearts more readily.

Upon reaching the third floor, they found only a handful of people. Among them was the young knight who had earlier glared at Ling Feng with hostility.

However, at this moment, the knight's gaze was entirely serene, as if the earlier animosity hadn't come from him at all.

"Interesting. Such deep cunning, such strong deceit," Ling Feng thought as a hint of wariness rose in his heart toward the young knight.

"Archbishop Berkeley!" Saint Di Anfu stepped forward and bowed. "I've found us an ally—a master from Huaxia, Ling Feng!"

Archbishop Berkeley was a man in his sixties—small and aged, with graying hair yet a boldly determined face. His eyes, at first glance, seemed cloudy, but on closer inspection, it appeared as if a vortex swirled within them, captivating one's soul.

"Oh? A master from Huaxia?" Archbishop Berkeley scrutinized Ling Feng up and down.

Ling Feng grinned cheerfully and said, "Archbishop Berkeley, I've long admired your famed reputation. It's an honor to meet you."

Archbishop Berkeley showed a hint of surprise. This young man named Ling Feng was unexpectedly relaxed before him, suggesting his mental fortitude was anything but ordinary.

Moreover, Ling Feng's aura was completely concealed—a sign that his skill in suppressing his presence had reached the pinnacle.

"So young yet already at the level of Demi-God Domain. Truly a frightening individual!" Archbishop Berkeley silently remarked.

"Admired my reputation? May I ask, young friend, how you've come to know my name?" Archbishop Berkeley's lips curved slightly in a mischievous smile.

Ling Feng paused briefly, then shrugged and said, "It's nothing more than a polite remark. Surely you wouldn't take it seriously, would you? If I were to say I've never heard of you, wouldn't that be disrespectful to you?"

Saint Di Anfu clutched her forehead in frustration. She'd expected Ling Feng to stir up trouble, and sure enough, he did. Even Archbishop Berkeley was momentarily stunned. It was his first time encountering a young person so "brazen" in his presence.

Even his own nephews and nieces were always overly cautious and timid in front of him, never daring to show such attitude!

"Such insolence!" The young knight beside Archbishop Berkeley stepped forward, shouting angrily. "How dare you behave so disrespectfully before the Archbishop! Kneel at once!"

As he spoke, an icy killing intent shrouded Ling Feng.

But for Ling Feng, this killing intent was pitifully weak—it didn't stir even the slightest ripple in his heart.

The young knight believed he could seize this opportunity to teach the brazen stranger a lesson. However, he failed to notice the flicker of disappointment in Archbishop Berkeley's eyes behind him.

Saint Di Anfu froze momentarily, then furiously exclaimed, "Harriet, what do you think you're doing? Stop this nonsense right now!"

The young knight, Harriet, felt a surge of bitter resentment. For this oriental pretty boy, Lady Saint had shouted at him—something entirely unprecedented!

"Lady Saint must have been bewitched by this filthy oriental man!" Harriet's gaze burned with jealousy and hatred. In his heart, he was now determined to tear Ling Feng to pieces.

"Lady Saint, showing disrespect toward the Archbishop is equivalent to disrespecting our Church of Light!" Harriet said coldly. "When it comes to heretics like him, I, Harriet, shall see them all executed!"
