The Supreme Martial Expert of the Female CEO

Chapter 874: Drip 874 Chapter The Auction Begins

"What's your impression of Ling Feng?" Skovic asked Jack in another room.

"Incredibly strong and razor-sharp," Jack replied solemnly. "He has an intense aura of authority that doesn't need any overt display. Just sitting next to him is enough to disturb an ordinary person's mind. From this alone, it's clear he's a powerhouse in the Demi-God Domain. And his mind is equally sharp. Ever since I sat beside him, I've felt like I was being watched by a venomous snake."

As he finished speaking, Jack couldn't help but feel a lingering unease.

"Alright, I understand!" Skovic waved his hand dismissively. "You may leave now!"

In truth, Skovic hadn't told Jack that this Ling Feng was none other than the legendary Blood-Handed Asura. If he had, Jack might not have even been able to utter a coherent word.

"Hmph, it seems I underestimated you before. But... even a powerhouse in the Demi-God Domain won't easily qualify to pair with my sister!" Skovic muttered venomously to himself.

When the event began, Ling Feng and Catherine entered the auction hall with their invitation. According to the serial number on the invitation, the two of them were assigned to a private booth.

Pushing open the door to the booth, they found Talabova already seated inside, swirling a glass of red wine with a sly smile aimed at Catherine.

Catherine's good mood instantly darkened. That little tramp was like a yin spirit haunting her heels!

"What a coincidence, we meet again!" Talabova greeted Ling Feng, then winked playfully at Catherine.

Snorting coldly, Catherine responded icily, "What are you doing here?"

"Don't you know every booth is assigned an auction service guide?" Talabova replied nonchalantly. "Right now, I'm Ling Feng's personal guide!"

Catherine retorted frostily, "Your intentions are hardly about guiding, are they?"

"You're absolutely right! I'm here solely for Ling Feng!" Talabova declared bluntly. "I won't even hide how endlessly I admire him!"

Ling Feng sighed, rubbing his head. "Talabova, stop messing around. Don't tell me you're really here to play the guide?"

Talabova smiled seductively. "What do you think?"

Ling Feng gave a wry smile. "It seems my reputation truly precedes me. To think I could get the Eye of God's High-Level Deacon to act as my guide—should I be honored?"

Talabova stood up, taking note of Catherine's annoyed expression. She couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Relax. Do you really think I'd stoop to something like being a guide? I'm just here to let you know something: all your auctioned items, except for 'Mona Lisa's Smile' and 'The Last Supper,' have been placed in the third batch. Those two, however, I personally arranged to be in the final batch."

Ling Feng looked at Talabova in surprise. "Well, thank you, Talabova!"

"Is there any need for thanks between us?" Talabova smiled faintly, then elegantly turned and left the booth.

The auction is an annual grand event in the Underworld, and naturally, the items for sale number in the tens of thousands. The auction organizes the sequence of items based on their value.

Typically, the lower the value of an item, the earlier it is auctioned. Though Ling Feng brought several treasures from the Louvre, they weren't particularly alluring to the elites of the Underworld, aside from catching the attention of collectors. The true high rollers wouldn't bat an eye at them.

Thus, Talabova placing them in the third batch was already a significant gesture in Ling Feng's favor.

As for 'Mona Lisa's Smile' and 'The Last Supper,' beyond their unparalleled collectible value, it was rumored that a great secret lay hidden within them. Although no one in centuries had fully uncovered this mystery, the legend alone was enough to warrant these paintings being placed in the final batch.

"Ding!" A crisp chime rang out, and the wall facing the auction hall gradually turned transparent, revealing the events outside to those inside while obscuring the view from the outside. This design protected the privacy of the sellers.

"Esteemed guests!" At this moment, a circular platform slowly rose in the center of the auction hall, bringing forth a man in a tailcoat who appeared alongside it. His presence immediately caught everyone's attention.

"I am Brian, the head of this auction and also the chosen emcee for tonight's event!" Brian announced with a warm smile. "Welcome to this year's auction. I trust most of you are familiar with our rules. If there are any newcomers who aren't, please take a moment to skim through the handbook on your tables. It contains the auction procedures, rules, and information about the items up for bid. Without further ado—and I'm sure you don't want to hear me ramble—the auction officially begins now!"

"Straight to the point!" Ling Feng flipped through the handbook and chuckled lightly. "Catherine, how much are you hoping to cash in from this auction?"

After a brief moment of thought, Catherine answered, "At least a hundred billion US Dollars. These are treasures from the Louvre, after all. If France found out, their reaction would be priceless."

Catherine wasn't wrong. In another booth, Hans slammed his hand onto a table, seething as he stared furiously at the handbook in his hand. "How could the stolen artifacts from our Louvre possibly appear at this auction? This is impossible!"

Hans felt as if a volcano were erupting inside him. He knew all too well that once these artifacts entered the auction, the only way to retrieve them would be to pay an exorbitant price to buy them back.

As for holding the Eye of God accountable? Even if the Rose Squad were ten times stronger, they stood no chance against the Eye of God!

The only viable solution was to investigate the seller of these artifacts secretly. Hans strongly suspected that the seller was the Freedom Organization.

"Freedom Organization, I'll remember this debt!" he growled through clenched teeth, then picked up his phone to dial a number. "Mobilize the funds immediately. I need as much as possible…"

After hanging up, Hans's face twisted into an expression of pain. Securing those artifacts was going to cost him dearly.

"Now, let us unveil the first auction item." Brian's enthusiastic voice echoed in the hall. "This is a fragment of a meteorite from heaven. You may recall the brilliant meteor shower that lit up the night sky five years ago. This fragment is a remnant that survived atmospheric friction and didn't burn up!"

"As we all know, meteorites often contain rare Extraterrestrial Elements. If an element is discovered that doesn't exist on Earth, it could yield extraordinary outcomes!"
