The Supreme Martial Expert of the Female CEO

Chapter 915 Opportunity

"What happened back then was indeed my fault!" Taggart said slowly, and this statement shocked everyone present.

Taggart Niles, known as the Iron Tiger, was ruthless in his actions and strict in his demeanor. He had never admitted any mistakes in public before, but now, he was admitting that he did wrong back then. This left everyone with an uncanny feeling—had Taggart Niles lost his mind?

"I failed to protect your mother back then!" Taggart slowly walked toward the Fengyun Platform.

The two men in black behind him stepped forward. "Clan Leader, the opponent is extremely dangerous. Please don't—"

"The person on the platform is my son!" Taggart said seriously. "As an unqualified father, do I lack even the courage to face my own son? Step aside!"

Under Chief Taggart's rebuke, the two men in black sighed and made way, though they heightened their vigilance. If anything unexpected happened, they would protect the Clan Leader without hesitation.

The sound of footsteps approached closer. Soon, Taggart reached the Fengyun Platform and stood in front of Aiven.

He stared intently at Aiven's face, a rare trace of tenderness appearing on his rigid countenance. He murmured to himself, "So alike, incredibly alike! You and your mother look so much alike! No wonder I found you familiar. Heaven pity me, I finally get to meet you..."

Aiven looked at the middle-aged man in front of him with a flash of anger in his eyes. He said coldly, "I didn't expect Chief Taggart to have such courage. Being completely powerless, you dare to stand before me? Are you not afraid that I could kill you with one strike?"

Taggart gently shook his head. "Whether you acknowledge it or not, I am your father! What kind of father fears his own son? Even if you want to kill me, I won't be afraid or blame you. Because it was my negligence that I failed to protect your mother back then; I failed in my duty as a father. If you want to kill me, I have no complaints!"

Taggart took a deep breath, a hint of pleading in his expression. "But I have one request. Yina... how is Yina now? She..."

"She's dead!" Aiven replied indifferently. "Did you think someone who was poisoned so severely could survive?"

"Brother, he is definitely not your son!" At this moment, Ficknilas, who was being stepped on by Aiven, shouted hoarsely. "When that woman was poisoned, she still had over a month left in her pregnancy. She couldn't possibly have given birth to the child! Brother, he's deceiving you..."

Aiven sneered coldly, stepping harder. Ficknilas let out a muffled groan as his face was once again slammed into the ground!

"He's right, I'm not your son!" Aiven said indifferently. "I'm only here to seek justice for the poor woman who held on through sheer willpower for over a month to give birth to her child!"

Taggart's body trembled, his eyes instantly reddened. Yina was the only woman he had ever loved. Hearing Aiven's words, the image surfaced in his mind: Yina, even in her dying moments, held on with unwavering will and determination until the child was born, before leaving this world in pain.

"Yina!" Taggart whispered hoarsely, clutching his chest. For the first time in over twenty years, tears rolled down his weathered face.

Taggart did not doubt Aiven's words. He knew Yina to be such a woman—strong and heartbreaking. Moreover, Aiven looked too much like her. He believed Aiven was telling the truth, and there was no reason for Aiven to lie to him.

"Stop playing the hypocrite!" Aiven sneered. "Do you think shedding a few crocodile tears will make me believe you? It's impossible!"

In an outburst, Aiven grabbed Taggart by the neck, his rage urging him to strangle Taggart to death!

"Family Head!" The two men in black were shocked and rushed forward to save Taggart.

"Stop where you are!" Taggart barked coldly. Despite his strained breathing and sensing the hatred and murderous intent in Aiven's eyes,

he felt no fear. What consumed him was remorse and pity. He knew that over the past two decades, he owed too much to this mother and child.

Back then, his favoritism led the legitimate wife to harbor jealousy, and he failed to notice in time, causing a tragedy. This matter had been weighing heavily in Taggart's heart for years, something he was reluctant to recall or confront.

Now, seeing Aiven, seeing the child he had with Yina, Taggart's heart burned with excitement. He knew this was his only chance—the only chance for his son to forgive him.

If anyone interfered, Aiven might never forgive him in this lifetime. So, Taggart was willing to take the risk.

Aiven's hand trembled slightly. He wanted to harden his resolve and kill Taggart, but Taggart's gaze was so tender, so calm—filled only with guilt and devoid of any fear or unease.

"I won't kill you so easily!" Aiven snarled, throwing Taggart aside angrily.

Taggart coughed as he struggled to rise from the ground. Aiven's throw caused him immense pain; after all, he lacked the strength to bear Aiven's enraged attack.

"Child, I know you hate me, I fully understand! I don't expect your forgiveness, but I hope you can give me a chance to make amends!" Taggart stood up, speaking with emotion. "Come back, return to the Nilas Family. I'm sure your mother, if she were still alive, wouldn't want to see us father and son at odds!"

Aiven took a deep breath and sneered, "Go back? You think I care about your Nilas Family?"

Taggart sighed. "Child, Yina was the woman I loved the most. After her accident, I was in unbearable pain. I thought my life had no hope anymore. But now, fate has led us to meet here. Since this is the guidance of fate, why not give each other a chance?"

Aiven looked at the earnest Taggart Niles and suddenly smiled. "Fine, I'll give you a chance!"

With that, Aiven kicked Ficknilas away and sealed his strength. "Kill him, and I'll return with you! He was one of the masterminds who poisoned my mother, wasn't he?"

"Brother!" Ficknilas scrambled to Taggart Niles, looking utterly disheveled. The blood on his face lent him a more savage appearance.

"Brother, kill him!" Ficknilas pleaded urgently. "He wants to overthrow the Nilas Family! We can only secure the family's future by getting rid of him once and for all!"
