From A Producer To A Global Superstar

Chapter 187: Action time

Dayo woke up early, the same way he always did. His biological clock never failed him. The morning felt calm, quiet, almost too normal considering what he had planned. He sat up, stretched slowly, and let his thoughts settle.

He had spent most of the night thinking about what to do with the evidence Max and Bella brought. At first, he wanted to wait. But after thinking it through, he realized that waiting would only make things harder. The earlier he handled this, the better. Besides, he wasn't going to lie to himself—he wanted to use this evidence for selfish reasons too.

One of the biggest reasons was simple:

He wanted to compete in more categories.

The 100m, 200m, and the 4×100 relay.

As far as he was concerned, he wasn't planning to be an "average athlete." With the system backing him, staying in only one event felt like a waste. Why limit himself? If he could dominate more categories, why not?

And as for the people who were caught doping?

That wasn't his business.

They made their choice.

They used enhancements; he didn't.

So he didn't feel bad for any of them.

With that decision, he sat at his table and went through the evidence again. The files were neatly arranged: names, transaction receipts, coaches involved, ingredient lists, lab instructions, formulas—everything. It was enough to destroy careers, break teams apart, and shake the entire sports world.

He continued scanning through the names until his eyes landed on the one he had been looking for: Coach Richard.

He expected it, but seeing it confirmed everything. And there were many others—coaches and athletes from different sports, not just swimming.

This wasn't just a scandal.

This was a bomb that could rip through the entire sports industry.

And Dayo knew it.

He felt no guilt. Everyone who used those substances knew exactly what they were risking. But one thing did worry him:

Would the committee take action?

There was a real possibility they wouldn't. If this information got out, too many top athletes would crash. Too many medals, records, reputations—gone. The committee might try to hide it all to save themselves. And if they buried it, then nothing would change.

But after thinking deeply, Dayo came to a simple solution:

If they try to bury the truth, he'll bury them.

He would leak everything.

He would hand it to bloggers, tabloids, and major news platforms.

He would make so much noise that no committee could silence it.

No organization wanted to be dragged through public outrage.

Especially when the government was strictly against performance-enhancing drugs.

With that settled, he picked up his phone and dialed Max.

---

"Hello Max."

"Yes boss, good morning."

"Morning. I hope the operation wasn't too stressful?"

Max laughed. "Not at all, boss. Looking at my account balance? It was worth it."

Dayo chuckled lightly. "You haven't changed. Anyway, I have something else for you to carry out."

Max's tone shifted. He knew this one was serious.

"Alright, boss. I'm listening."

"Now, the evidence in your hands is pretty much a bomb. I hope you already investigated the USADA employees I told you to look into?"

"Yes, boss."

"And the results?"

"They had no formal contact whatsoever with the national team coaches."

Dayo exhaled in relief.

If anyone from inside USADA had been working with the coaches, this would have been messy. Complicated. But it seemed his fears were unnecessary.

"Good," he said. "Now here's what I want you to do. The evidence—everything—deliver it directly to the head of USADA. Secretly. Make sure he's at home. Make sure he's the one who collects it. No middlemen."

"Alright, sir. Is that all?"

Dayo paused for a moment. Something else came to mind.

"No. After this job, your focus should shift to the individuals I told you about—the ones backing Michael. Remember what I said?"

"Yes sir. You said they don't want to be known, but we have to uncover their identities."

"Good," Dayo replied calmly. "Michael is just a pawn in this game. If I cut him off, they'll replace him with someone new. I'm not removing a leaf; I'm cutting the root. Only then will the problem stop."

This was exactly why Dayo hadn't exposed Michael yet. He knew Michael wasn't the real problem. Michael was useful—for now. If Dayo released evidence against him, the real people behind the scenes would simply find a new puppet. And then Dayo would lose all advantage.

It was also the reason he had stepped away from the music industry temporarily. He needed to understand how deep those people had gone into the industry. How far their hands reached.

"Understood, boss," Max replied.

"Good. Once you deliver the evidence, update me immediately."

"Okay, boss."

"Alright." Dayo ended the call and finally sat down properly, rubbing his temples.

---

After a few minutes of silence, Dayo dialed another number—Alice.

She picked up almost instantly.

"Hello."

"Dayo, good morning."

"Morning, Alice. I have something I want you to work on for me."

"Oh? Really? Is that how you want to do it now? No good morning conversation? No chit-chat? Just straight to business?" Alice teased.

Dayo smiled. He knew exactly why she sounded like that. Even though they weren't dating, Alice was a little jealous. She knew very well the song he released was about Luna.

"My bad," Dayo said lightly. "I forgot to tell you—I made a reservation at that exotic place you've been talking about. But since you're angry, maybe I should cancel—"

Alice almost shouted, "HEY! Who said I'm angry? It's not fair oh!"

Dayo laughed. "Alright, alright. My bad. I misread the situation."

Alice scoffed playfully. "Yes, you did. So what is it you want me to do?"

"I sent you some files. I want you to go through the content carefully. Then contact your friends in the news outlets. Keep all of them on standby. Something big is cooking, but they must wait for my signal before releasing anything."

Alice paused for a second. "Alright, I'll do that. But… can I ask what it's about?"

Dayo smiled slightly. "I sent the file. You can read it."

Alice pouted. "No, I want to hear it from you."

Dayo shook his head, amused. If anyone heard Alice talking like this, they wouldn't believe it. She always carried herself with maturity and class—but with him, she was always playful.

"Alright," Dayo said finally. "It's about swimming. I found out that some athletes are using drugs to enhance their performance… and I have evidence."
