"Baron Blanks."
"Baron Blanks."
The soldiers of Salvos shouted his name again and again as if salvation had finally arrived and knocked onto their door.
Their voices shook with hope.
Yet Duchess Emma felt her heart sink.Ethan appearance didn't change her mind because she knew better.
She knew this was still going to be a losing battle, no matter how loud they cheered.
Ethan looked around analysing the grim scene and then stepped forward and gave Roen a firm salute. His gaze then shifted to Julia. She almost ran straight to him but forced herself to stop and stand still.
"What's the situation?" Ethan asked.
"It's terrible," Roen answered quickly. He explained everything in a rushed but clear voice. The more Ethan listened, the more his expression darkened. His jaw tightened and his brows pulled together.
He turned his eyes toward the battlefield and saw the massive horde of zombies stretching far across the land. His blood froze for a second seeing it. He just could not believe the number.
"Just how many people did they kill..." Ethan shouted in anger and hatred.
This was absolutely terrible.
His fist tightened until his knuckles turned white. Anger boiled through him like hot metal.
"Sir Ethan... how did you manage to break the spell?" Roen asked. It was the most important question because Ethan was still at the Advanced Stage yet he slashed through a Master rank spell and that's too from such a great distance.
There was no way an Advanced Knight could achieve this.
This was impossible for them even though he was at the peak of Advanced rank.
"It might be because the spell had not been fully casted," Julia said as she looked at her mother. "Isn't it?"
But then they noticed something strange.
Their mother was completely frozen. Her expression was that of shock and disbelief as if she was unable to comprehend the sight she was witnessing.
"Mother..." Julia called softly.
Emma snapped out of her daze and pointed at Ethan with a trembling hand. Her voice shook as she spoke.
"Ethan... don't tell me... you are already at the Master Stage."
Ethan gave a faint smile. It was calm, confident, and steady. He really liked that look.
He glanced around and then proclaimed,"Yes."
Just that one word made the air burst with the noise.
"Master!"
"What?"
"Lord Blanks has become a Master Knight!"
Shock hit everyone so hard that even the wounded soldiers looked alive again. Their eyes widened and mouths dropped open.
Some gasped wondering if this was a dream.Others covered their faces in disbelief. The atmosphere that had been crushed under fear suddenly lifted. It felt like the sun had broken through thick black clouds.
Some knights stumbled back with shaking legs. Others grabbed their comrades and shook them as if making sure they were awake.
"He did it."
"He actually reached the Master Stage."
"At this age..."
The gloomy despair that hung over the walls shifted into raw energy and life.
Far away, the three Priests watched the scene unfold. Their smiles twisted into angry scowls.
"Did you have enough fun?" one shouted, his voice cracking with frustration.
"Did you really think a single Master Rank is enough to overturn everything?" another screamed.
Their voices echoed across the battlefield, heavy and sharp. The mood wavered again. The cheerful soldiers froze, their joy cut short.
For a moment, uncertainty spread through the ranks.
But Ethan did not try to comfort them.
Instead, he lifted his sword with a calm and fearless expression. The blade pointed straight ahead.
"We have defended enough."
He paused and looked at his soldiers eyes.
What greeted him back wasn't fear but confidence.
His aura began to rise like a storm building in the sky.
"Those who believe in me..."
BOOOOOOOM!
Ethan's aura exploded outward. The ground cracked around him. Dust and loose stones blasted away. The pressure slammed into every soldier like a heavy wave. His presence felt like a giant had stepped into the fortress.
Golden energy surged from his body, swirling like fire and lightning mixed together. His cloak whipped violently behind him. Even the air vibrated.
Ethan let out a roar, deep and powerful, that shook the entire place.
"Those who believe in me, follow me down to slaughter the enemy."
He pointed the sword forward. His voice cut through the smoke and fear.
"It's time for offence."
And the battlefield answered him with silence, awe, and rising courage.
With that, Ethan jumped off the wall.
With a single leap he covered several hundred meters and slammed into the center of the zombie horde. The impact created a blast that shook the entire battlefield. Dust and bodies were thrown into the air as if a meteor had struck.
The group of zombies were blown away into tatters. The ones at point of impact were crushed and pulverized by his aura itself where others were thrown like a rag doll.
"Don't you dare to come near me,you filthy bastards,"he roared and swung his sword.
BOOOOOOOOM!
Wind arcs cut through the air.
Ethan's arrival was not just timely. It was terrifying and majestic at the same time.
....
Ethan's troops did not shout or roar behind him. They rode in complete silence. Not a single voice rose and not one man broke formation. Their armor shifted in rhythm and their steps fell at the same pace. They moved like a single body. Their formation was perfect and steady as they advanced across the land that crawled with undead.
The moment they reached close range, Ethan raised his hand sharply. Hooves came to a halt and then soldiers leaped down from their mounts in one clean motion. Boots hit the earth one after another. Steel flashed in quick arcs.
The first wave of undead rushed forward with shrieks that tore across the sky. Ethan's men did not flinch. They formed lines and shields locked together and then blades crashed downward.
"Crush them!"
"Crush them!"
"CRUSHHH!CRUSHHH!"
