Chapter 377: Massive Fan Drop at Fairy Palace

He felt it again.

The cloaked figure found it hard to explain this sensation; it was akin to the instinctual bond between siblings. Yet, he was quite certain he had no such siblings in this world—at least, none in the biological sense who would evoke such a feeling.

Therefore, he could only surmise this bond was with siblings in a transcendent, not literal, sense.

He stomped fiercely, his body transforming into a black shadow as he broke from the combat, attempting to rush towards the convention entrance.

However, the next second, a frosty sword shadow slammed down before him, forcibly halting his advance!

"The Fairy Palace is handling this matter. Shouldn't you be assisting?"

The adventurer, seeing the cloaked figure leave the fray, immediately used his Blink Dagger to teleport in front of him, blocking his path and questioning him in a commanding tone.

Roy, witnessing their sudden infighting, knew this was a golden opportunity. He quickly seized the moment to dash towards the convention entrance.

But then, he heard the cloaked figure's reply to the adventurer,

"I should."

"Frost Sword Flame Saber!"

"Guarding Rivers and Mountains!"

The two, moments ago at odds, now simultaneously intercepted Roy. He cursed inwardly, This cloaked figure is a powerful Transcendent from the Mysterious Country, so why is he caving to someone from the Fairy Palace so quickly? Isn't he ashamed?!

Roy snorted. Does the Mysterious Country really have connections with the Fairy Palace? Facing the pincer attack from two powerhouses, Roy felt not the slightest panic. He flipped his palm, revealing an ink-black mirror hidden in his sleeve.

"Black Light Barrier!"

The flurry of flaming and frosty blades, along with the massive, ochre-colored seal, were all absorbed and nullified by the black mirror Roy summoned, leaving him completely unscathed!

The Tactical Cultivator and the watching crowd were thrilled. Even in a foreign land, even fighting two against one, the Federation's second-ranked Transcendent still held his ground. The powerhouse from the Mysterious Country, though appearing ordinary, possessed astonishing strength and could cast formidable Earth Spells. The adventurer was equally impressive, his attacks a vibrant display of flame orbs and frost streams. His wings even spread to shield the crowd from harm—truly befitting someone from the Fairy Palace!

However, only Roy and the cloaked figure within the battle knew the truth: the adventurer wasn't using his full strength. He was merely toying with them, his slashes and chops casual.

Of the sixteen attacks the adventurer had launched so far, thirteen had been virtually ineffective, their sound and light effects terrifying but ultimately all show and no substance.

The adventurer was here neither to help the Mysterious Country nor the Federation—he represented the will of the Fairy Palace, aiding a third party!

Roy glanced at his Supreme Treasure detection watch. The red dot was growing fainter, on the verge of disappearing entirely. He had no choice but to pin his hopes on the cloaked figure, saying, "There's still time! If you don't get out of the way, neither of us will get anything. Let me find the target first, and the Federation will undoubtedly offer significant concessions at the negotiating table in exchange for it!"

The adventurer watched the cloaked figure with leisurely interest, while the cloaked figure ignored Roy, his gaze fixed on the adventurer.

"Fairy... Palace?"

The adventurer nodded. "You should have seen my rather dashing combat footage in those videos."

The cloaked figure asked, "I... why did I forget the Fairy Palace? Am I... part of the Fairy Palace? I... I've always wanted to find you."

The adventurer narrowed his eyes.

Roy stared at the cloaked figure in astonishment, clearly understanding the implication of his halting words: he had once been part of the Fairy Palace but had lost his memories?

"This is your destiny, and also your trial. The intentions of the Supreme Supreme are not for the likes of us to fathom," the adventurer said calmly.

The Supreme Supreme?!

A bead of cold sweat trickled down Roy's forehead. He felt like he'd just stumbled upon some earth-shattering secret.

There was no longer any need to speculate about the Fairy Palace's existence. They had demonstrated their power numerous times, their clandestine operations causing ripples worldwide. Moreover, the Federation's own Angel Zack had been soundly thrashed by one of the Fairy Palace's small creatures, the Handsome Monkey King. Roy was thoroughly convinced the Fairy Palace was real.

Current speculation about the Fairy Palace, beyond its actual location, centered on the number of its members.

Assassins, Truth Seekers, Zhao Zili, Nine-Tailed Fox, Handsome Monkey King, the adventurer, Ren Han...

What was the hierarchy within the Fairy Palace? What were the relationships between its members? Did the Fairy Palace have a leader?

And now, Roy had heard a new, potent term: Supreme Supreme.

As someone well-versed in the culture of the Mysterious Country, Roy fully grasped its meaning: Supreme, the highest, the sole; Supreme, the most revered.

For someone from the Fairy Palace to use such a title...

Just how terrifying could such an existence be?!

The cloaked figure glanced towards the convention hall entrance. "She... I... feel a strong familiarity."

The adventurer stated, "She will be returning to the Fairy Palace shortly. After that, you will no longer sense her."

The cloaked figure nodded slightly, then turned to Roy. "I... will not... cooperate with you."

Roy snapped back to reality and checked his Supreme Treasure detection watch.

The red dot had vanished.

Letting go of his obsession with the mission, Roy took a deep breath, a sharp, cold light glinting in his eyes.

Official business had failed.

Now, it was time for personal scores.

"Allow me to reintroduce myself," Roy said coolly. "Pallbearer, Roy!"

"Guarding the light, burying the darkness; guarding the future, burying the past; guarding honor, burying disgrace..."

Roy crossed his arms behind his back, a ball of white light materializing in his right palm, a black abyss swirling in his left. "No need to hold back. My death won't cause any diplomatic incidents. Let me witness the true strength of a top Transcendent from the Mysterious Country and an adventurer from the Fairy Palace."

Federal Extraordinary Ones were divided into two departments: Watchers and Pallbearers.

Watchers enjoy the honor and admiration of thousands, but they also bear the responsibility of acting with caution. Pallbearers, on the other hand, are destined for anonymity and are permitted to use any means necessary.

The two institutions complemented each other, a two-pronged approach that had allowed the Federal Government to smoothly reclaim power and win the hearts of countless citizens.

This mission to retrieve the Supreme Treasure was urgent and involved illicit border crossing, which was why Pallbearer ace Roy was leading the team personally. Watchers couldn't undertake such tasks; only Pallbearers could.

The Watchers' radiance must remain untainted by any filth. Pallbearers, however... possessed no such radiance to begin with. Their honor, their beliefs, their light—all were concealed within their blood, their marrow, their very minds, flowing silently in the depths of their souls. Invisible, intangible, yet it was the wellspring of their courage.

Facing this foreign powerhouse, the cloaked man pondered for a moment, then spoke again in his deep, resonant voice, "I, Three Thousand Li."

He paused, then suddenly switched to a fluent tone to explain,

"One hundred thousand strategists guard the lights of countless homes; the Yellow River and Yangtze River suppress the spirits of mountains and earth; the Great Wall defends the gates of the Mysterious Country."

The cloaked man extended a bandaged hand, pointing to himself with his thumb.

"I, Three Thousand Li."

Roy mulled this over. He knew the Mysterious Country's Transcendent divisions included two: the Tactical System, under Public Security, and the Yellow River and Yangtze River Troops, part of the military.

The Tactical System was primarily responsible for protecting urban populations from mystical events, Demons, and Ghosts. The Yellow River and Yangtze River Troops handled large-scale Supernatural incidents within the Mysterious Country, like the Magician's Secret Realm incident previously.

Now, he learned of a third Transcendent division in the Mysterious Country: the Great Wall.

From this description alone, it was clear the Great Wall's primary duty was to defend the gates of the Mysterious Country, its focus naturally on foreign Transcendents like Roy, who arrived with treacherous intentions.

"The Great Wall... and you are ranked 'Three Thousand Li'?"

Roy flashed an arrogant grin. "Then let me see just how strong 'Three Thousand Li' of the Great Wall, who claims to defend the nation's gates, truly is!"

He then looked at the idle adventurer nearby. "And you, adventurer of the Fairy Palace? Are you going to help them gang up on me?"

Although Roy projected arrogance, he was inwardly calm. He knew that if the adventurer genuinely intended to kill him, he would undoubtedly perish.

If the adventurer showed killing intent, Roy would turn and flee without a second thought. But if the adventurer continued to merely play around as before, Roy could confidently gauge this cloaked man's true combat power.

The mission had already failed. He had to at least bring back some intelligence on this cloaked man. To return empty-handed would be too humiliating!

"Me?" The adventurer seemed momentarily taken aback. He glanced between the cloaked man and Roy, then suddenly flew into mid-air, loudly declaring,

"First, I will absolutely not act on impulse!

Second, I will absolutely not allow your duel to harm innocents!

Third, I will ensure the refereeing is absolutely fair and elegant!

In the name of a Fairy Palace adventurer, I shall bear witness to your duel!"

「...」

Through his connection via Rippling Spring Sounds with the adventurer, Ren Suo learned of the situation at the convention center and sighed inwardly.

Back at the convention center, Ren Suo had completely handed the reins to the adventurer, never expecting his actions to be so off-key. Although he knew the adventurer's goal was to keep both the cloaked man and Roy occupied (if either of them got free, they could pursue the Little Nine-Tailed Fox), for the adventurer to suddenly jump up and declare himself the referee mid-fight... It was practically a live broadcast of the Fairy Palace losing fans.

However, that wasn't the primary reason for Ren Suo's sigh. He was lamenting his intertwined fate with the Pangolin.

The cloaked man—the Pangolin—had actually tracked them here because of his character settings.

When he first designed the Pangolin, Ren Suo had specifically set him up to have 'forgotten his past in the Fairy Palace.' That way, if anyone asked, the Pangolin could use amnesia as an excuse, neatly sidestepping the issue of not knowing any details about the Fairy Palace.

He never imagined this would lead the Pangolin to develop such a strong fixation, tracking them all the way here, even rushing over because he sensed Little Jiu's presence.

Ren Suo looked down, gently squeezing Little Jiu's small hand. "Little Jiu, can you sense the one inside..."

He struggled for the right word, but Little Jiu piped up, "You mean that uncle? Yep!"

"Why can you sense him?" Ren Suo asked curiously.

The Pangolin and the Little Nine-Tailed Fox seemed to be able to sense each other. If this wasn't resolved, the Pangolin would find them sooner or later.

"Ermm..." Little Jiu pouted, thinking for a moment, then shook her head. "I can't quite explain it, but when he casts his spells, I can feel it. And when I cast my spells, he should be able to feel me too."

So, she can sense spellcasting, Ren Suo thought.

"But once I'm properly dressed, I can sense him one-way, but he can't sense me!"

"Great!" Ren Suo brightened. "Then let's hurry home and get you properly dressed!"

"Okay!"

Nearby passersby cast complex glances their way, furtively looking around. Are there any police officers nearby? It looks like a creep is trying to abduct a little girl!
