Vulture is a scavenger. It does not kill its prey and usually feasts on the carcass of dead animals.

However, this vulture was a Chaos Beast. Its usual behaviour and natural habit might be twisted because of the Mana inside it.

Additionally, if this beast was the same as the Night Panther. It was also a Construct, artificially created from a real vulture.

Siderius killed a boar and dragged it out to an empty field. He then hid in a bush with the bow in his hand, waiting for the right time to strike.

"I hope the eyes of this vulture are compatible. If it's the case, I'll probably use it as the third mutation for Ocula."

Siderius waited patiently for half a day. Instead of the vulture, there were quite a few other scavenging animals that tried to snatch the carcass.

Lycan was there to chase them all away. It even bit an opossum to death and feasted upon its body.

Around mid-day, a low hiss echoed in the sky. Siderius smirked as he knew the beast had arrived.

He stayed under a thick roof of leaves while looking above. A huge vulture the size of an elephant spreading its wings on the sky. Its bald pink head snapped around to examine the boar on the ground.

"Even as a Chaos Beast, the vulture still seems to follow its natural behavior." Siderius thought.

Then the vulture flew down from the sky.

Siderius slotted the Pellet Bomb into the sling and waited.

When it landed at the board, the vulture looked around, trying to scan for any potential threat. Siderius had already hid himself behind a tree to avoid detection. Lycan lay flat in the tall grass to hide from the vulture's eyes.

The vulture waited. And waited. And waited.

It didn't spot any threat so it began to feast on the carcass. Siderius immediately moved away from the tree and flung the Pellet Bomb at the Vulture.

Immediately, the Vulture spread its wings and tried to take flight. But vultures needed time to gain momentum.

Those short seconds allowed the Pellet Bomb to hit it and explode. The Brick Bean shot in all directions, digging up the dirt in the surrounding area and creating a thick cloud.

"Is that it?"

When the cloud dissipated, the vulture was revealed.

It spread its wings wide and its black feathers extended around its body like spikes. Those feathers hardened and became a shield for the vulture, blocking all the pellets.

"Hardening Feather?"

The vulture took flight. It had spotted Siderius.

The Chaos Beast gained height and suddenly spun in the air, its black feathers shot out from its body in a curve.

The feathers found their way to Siderius' location. They flew together like a storm made out of knives.

Siderius raised an eyebrow then drew a cross in the air. The Parare green shield appeared.

Those feathers pierced into his shield. They weren't able to completely penetrate it and were stuck on the shield.

"Very sharp. Very dangerous." Siderius commented.

He moved away from his location and deactivated the shield. The feathers fell to the ground and turned to dust.

"They lost their power?"

The vulture continued to circle in the sky. It spun one more time and released a storm of feathers flying at Siderius.

"You think you are safe in the sky?"

Siderius focused on the vulture. His slit pupils constricted even further and immediately learned the exact distance to the vulture. He had used the Hunter Focus Ability.

Siderius grabbed his bow and counter-attacked with his own arrows barrage.

His arrows couldn't trace the target like the feathers but they're faster and were more precise.

Siderius returned fire and immediately ran away, avoiding the storm of feathers.

The arrows reached the vulture. It tried to dodge them but one was able to penetrate into its chest.

The vulture hissed in pain. The storm of feathers that was following Siderius stopped in mid-air.

Siderius used this opportunity to put on the Joker Mask. It already had a filter in the mouth.

Then he slotted in the Toxic Bomb and hurled it at the vulture. The disgusting smell of the bomb should prevent it from flying effectively. If it did inhale the smoke, its lungs would also be poisoned.

The Toxic Bomb landed at the vulture perfectly. The disgusting smell of the green smoke caused the vulture to lower its height.

Siderius slotted another bomb into the sling. This time it was the Phosphorus Bomb. The Pellets Bomb was more destructive but the vulture could defend against it. So Siderius tried fire instead.

The Phosphorus Bomb hit the stumbling vulture, spreading the blue flame all over its body.

The Spiky Vulture shrieked in pain as it fell from the sky and down to the ground.

Siderius ran up the body of a tree. When the vulture fell to the grass, Siderius jumped out and unsheathed his sword at the same time.

The fireswitch was flipped over. The orange flame of the Blazing Soul went though the neck of the vulture.

Its body dropped to a side while its long elongated head fell in the opposite direction.

"Much easier than I thought."

The vulture was a tricky opponent because it could fly. But the combination of bombs had overwhelmed it in a short amount of time.

It didn't have a chance to win.

Siderius took out his hunter knife and plunged it into the vulture's abdomen.

"Let's see if you have an artificial Mana Core like the Night Panther."

Siderius put his hand into its disgusting gut and pulled out a metal ball.

"Another Artificial Mana Core." Siderius put it into the bag and continued to examine the vulture.

He cut out its eyes to see if they were usable as mutations. Maggots squirmed in the eyesockets of the vulture.

Siderius threw the two eyeballs away. It turned into a storm of flies in mid-air.

"Dark Magic. Tch. Better stay away from this stuff."

Siderius let the corpse of the vulture burn to a crisp. He only took the head of the big vulture.

"This should guarantee me the reward. Coins are always useful. Another property in this place also allows me to set up a branch for the guild… If necessary."

Siderius hung the head of the vulture on the side of Red and rode back to Avadine.
