I Am The Only Witch Hunter

Chapter 286: A Favor

His white hair had betrayed him again. It was probably the reason why the woman knew about his identity. The White Witch was pretty popular around this side of the kingdom.

"No amount of change can atone for what he did." Siderius bluntly said. "You don't want to see this."

"Please, my lord! I beg you! We will do anything for you. I can be your slave."

"I need no slave."

"Please, Tess. You need to go. This is related to my past life. I can't let him hurt you." Javier said.

"Mommy! Daddy!" The boy ran to the two of them. "I won't let the bad man hurt you."

"Oh, my dear boy. My dear Tess. You have no idea what you have done." Javier said in defeat. He held them tightly as if to prepare them for what to come.

"What do you mean, daddy?" The boy said.

"You should have stayed away. You saw his face now. You will be killed along with me."

The wife and the boy stared at Siderius. The boy cried out and screamed in fear. Tess's face lost all of its colors.

Siderius took out the silver coated knife that killed River.

"Remember this, Javier?"

Javier clenched his jaw. He nodded in silence.

"I will allow you to have your final words with each other. Do it quickly." Siderius softly said. His voice was like a lullaby.

Tess crawled to Siderius' feet and grabbed his pants.

"Please, my lord. You are the great Baron of Snowfell. Whatever he did, please let us pay for it. By coins or by servitude."

"No price can buy the life of my mother." Siderius said.

That sentence shut her mouth up. She now knew it was more serious than ever before. Her lips trembled lightly.

Tess looked over to Joseph. She understood the stupid mistake she had made.

"Please... Can my son... Can you spare our son?"

"I will." Siderius nodded without hesitation.

"No, mommy! I won't let you here."

"Take him away, Rea."

Rea came and pulled the boy away. Its small frame wasn't able to fight Rea.

"Come, kid. You need to go."

The boy screamed and fought but was dragged away by force. Rea shut the door tight, leaving Siderius and the pair of husband and wife alone.

Siderius dropped a Slagpaste Bomb on the floor. He then grabbed a burning candle on the table.

"Break it."

Javier's trembling hand grabbed and smacked the ball onto the floor. The Slagpaste inside exploded and covered him.

Tess rushed over to try and did something but Siderius already plunged the silver coated knife into her heart. He twisted it forcefully, ending her life.

"NO!" Javier roared like a beast. He held Tess's lifeless body in his arms.

"WHY?" He roared.

"You should have thanked me for ending her life quickly." Siderius threw the candle toward Javier. Its fire caught onto the Slagpaste and burned Javier.

The man rolled around in pain, experiencing the painful last few minutes of his life. Siderius stood silently. He watched everything.

The flame on Javier reflected in his blood red eyes.

Javier squirmed for quite a while before stopping. Life had fled from him but the fire was still burning.

Siderius turned his back. His face was devoid of emotion. The door was being banged on repeatedly. The voice of the boy cried out from outside.

"Mommy! Daddy! I won't let the bad man hurt you!"

Siderius opened the door. The boy saw the scene inside. He bit into his lips so hard blood came out.

Siderius saw in those eyes the same emotions he saw in Snow's. Rage and vengeance. The boy stared at him as if he would stop at nothing to destroy him and everything he loved.

The hunter grabbed the boy.

Rea saw everything but she didn't say one word. She lived in this cruel world long enough to know what would happen if Siderius left that boy alive. He would dedicate his entire life to ruin Siderius.

That is simply the truth of violence. There will never be an end.

Unless Siderius ended it before it became the truth.

"You?! You monster! Let me go! You told Mommy you would let me go!" The boy screamed.

"I lied."

Half an hour later. Siderius and Rea rode their horse away from the burning house. Everything inside was slowly turning into ash. Javier and his family were no longer in this world.

Rea turned her head back to look at the house.

"Any objection?" Siderius said.

"No, my lord. There is nothing wrong with what you do. Only this world is wrong." Rea said.

The same thing almost happened to the Artist. Their entire family and anyone who had ties with them would be executed. But Siderius stopped that.

And now, he switched the role and became the villain in the story.

"Have you ever killed anyone before, Rea?" Siderius said.

Rea's shoulder shivered. Her hands clenched tight onto the leash.

"Yes... I killed my own father. The one who sold me for four silvers."

A little while later. The two of them reached the estate of Jude. The soldier recognized Siderius and quickly led them inside the estate. There, he met with Jude Fisher once again.

He seemed much thinner than before. His fat belly and broad frame was now slender. He was still slightly bigger than the average person. But no one could recognize that he was the Witch of Gluttony.

They didn't say anything and just sat down at the table, tasting some tea while watching the sun going down in the far West.

"The spell has broken, I assume?" Siderius said.

Jude nodded. "You really do not have any other ways to save her?"

Siderius shook his head. "If I do, I will already save her. Have you found any other ways?"

Jude shook his head. He sighed, letting out a heavy amount of weight in his chest.

"You told me Everia may have a way, right?"

"Yes. I have a friend there. I can introduce you to him. He may be able to help you acquire the art of their swordsmanship. But I can't guarantee anything."

"That is more than enough, my friend. But I have to ask you for one more favor."

"Please tell."

"As a Baron of Scalize. I cannot leave my territory for too long."

"You can have people look after it for you. Like I did."

"I don't know how long it would take to cure her. You don't even know that. It may take months. Or it may take years. I cannot leave her alone for all those years."

Siderius gently placed the teacup on the table. "What is the favor you want to ask me?"

"I do not need Scalize. But Scalize must have its Baron. In my name, I want you to take over it."
