Guarding the Quicksand River, having devoured nine lives of scripture seekers, yet ultimately unable to escape destiny?
These keywords fell like a great bell tolling, as if, in the minds of the Demon Gods present, there was a resounding explosion, an ominous history unfolding before them.
They were entirely certain of the identity of this being; it was none other than the fearsome Evil God from the murals, guarding the Quicksand River, shrouded in black mist, adorned with nine skulls.
"Is this destiny?"
"Devoured nine incarnations of scripture seekers, yet ultimately subdued, and followed the tenth reincarnation?"
They felt their minds blur, whispers filled with pain, loss, and despair echoed incessantly in their hearts.
Crack!
It seemed that this mural ultimately shattered.
The next scene unfolded, bearing the images of the long river of past time, depicting the final outcome of this battle.
They saw that after this great battle, the Quicksand River Demon God, wearing nine skulls, was ultimately defeated and submitted after the battle with the black giant ape and pig-headed man.
He acknowledged the mortal as his master, astonishingly, tossing his necklace of nine skulls into the river, letting it float so that the group could cross on it.
Bang!
The nine huge skulls, each seemingly the size of a planet, traversed countless galactic star streams, this heavenly scene left everyone speechless.
A blurred voice entered their minds.
The leading monk, radiant with golden light, full of compassion, sat atop the skulls and sighed:
"Eight hundred Quicksand Realms, three thousand depths of Weak Water... This Quicksand River, where Gods and Buddhas passing above would drown, and now my nine lifetimes of skull beads are the only object floating, crossing the river, just as the Bodhisattva said..."
"No one can cross by themselves, but through themselves alone."
His voice was serene, giving a sense of sacred elegance, as he rode on the giant skulls, looking at the Evil God beside him,
"You, with your innumerable sins, making waves in the Quicksand River Domain, devouring countless people, devouring me across nine lifetimes, causing endless suffering and misery here. Today, following me, you must repent, cleanse your sins, from today on... you shall be called Sha Wujing."
"Yes, Master."
And so this party, riding on the terrifying giant necklace of nine skulls, drifted farther away in the tumultuous river waves.
Truly, it was a scenario of battling a dragon, unveiling the beautiful allegory of self-rescue along the journey, completing a perfect happy ending.
Yet, seeing the previous scene, this seemingly beautiful departing scene elicited beads of sweat on the brows of the seven Demon Gods from the Red Moon Planet present, followed by an interminable silence.
How clever they were.
In it, they saw terrifying information... delivering an immense shock!
Dissonance!
So much dissonance.
If that Evil God in the river was truly brimming with evil, why, before leaving, would he worry about the people of this world suffering, beseeching the existence to rebuild a new world?
If truly sinister and wicked, having devoured nine incarnations of scripture seekers, fancying wearing skull necklaces, being violent, how could he appear in the desert in a group, portrayed as a long-time, honest and simple figure carrying a yoke?
Chilling indeed.
From tone and demeanor, this existence truly seemed kind, harmonious, honest, and ingenuous, apparently having devoured the scripture seekers by not wanting to tread that path, but ultimately unable to resist... merely a wretched person adrift in fate.
So, what is fate?
Journey to the West?
And what of the other two disciples?
Did each of them also have similar experiences, resisting, roaring to the sky, yet ultimately submitting to fate, embarking on the road to Western Heaven?
The more they thought, the more they connected various details, the deeper the fear, as if seeing invisible black hands orchestrating a grand drama of the Journey to the West.
Starting from the Great Tang's Water and Land Dharma Assembly, transitioning from Daoism to Buddhism, this was a contest of the fortunes between Buddha and Dao.
"Phew, everyone stop overthinking it, thinking too deeply might lead to great trouble."
"Indeed, this is not something the beings of our small Quicksand River Region, the Red Moon Earth, can interfere with or deliberate on; we might never encounter it in our lifetime."
This involves indescribable deities.
The Demon Gods present were geniuses throughout the history of the Red Moon Earth, yet compared to the vast stars, the endless heavens, they remained unreachable!
"However, some history must be made known to all living beings."
"Yes." Another Demon God slowly opened his mouth, hesitating a few seconds before speaking: "After all, it is hard to conceal, for unless we stay within our well-world, sooner or later, we must step out into the world, these histories inevitably are to be known, perceived."
The Nascent Soul Cultivation Skill, although weak in combat, crucially allowed them to step out into the world.
Meanwhile, there's another point.
In the future, when the mysterious being, if indeed requested, creates a new world here for them, it must be communicated to the people in advance, so they are psychologically prepared.
"Meanwhile, although our power outside the world is weak, we must establish an observation post, to monitor the world outside."
They continued pondering, feeling it crucially important.
...
Zhu Zhengwei was observing the results of his forged relic research.
"Hmm, their actions are too outrageous; I knew breaking through the world's membrane and stepping out would certainly catch their attention, eventually lead them to the bookstore I left behind, to cultivate the skills within, but I didn't expect them to find it so quickly."
The manufacturing of the relics almost couldn't keep pace with their actions.
The Demon Gods truly were terrifying.
"However, step by step, they have gradually become shaken, perceiving..."
Zhu Zhengwei muttered to himself: "Next, it's time for my true form to appear, it's about time to start creating a new world in this part of the starry sky, adjacent to their Red Moon Planet."
And this, perhaps, marks the beginning of creating a true Primordial Chaos world, the glorious Huaxia mythological civilization I forge will eventually solidify here.
And what I face would not be just a Red Moon world, but mythological adversaries within the Primordial Chaos.
"But since it's creating a true opposing world civilization... then why not guide them towards a civilization I am familiar with? Familiarity and understanding of each storyline give a sliver of chance to triumph."
Zhu Zhengwei knew that the opponent's Four-dimensional World, to a certain extent, could project into reality, meaning it's a true Primordial Chaos world, and if he could destroy and engulf it, he would truly be invincible.
