"Are you planning to abandon me for 30 million dollars?"

His tone was deliberately teasing.

Riya was amused and chuckled softly.

"Who wants you? I'll definitely choose the 30 million."

"How dare you say that?"

"Who said I don't dare?"

Alex's voice turned mock-threatening.

"If you say another word, I will drive to your apartment and teach you a lesson."

"No, no! I'm just joking!"

Riya quickly backtracked, her laughter ringing through the phone.

There was a comfortable silence for a moment. Then Riya's voice softened.

"Let's go eat together tonight?"

Alex nodded, even though she could not see him through the screen.

"Sure."

Then, the two hung up the phone and made an appointment to meet in the evening that day.
