The Ultimate Versatile Soldier King

Chapter 288 Divine Level Player

"Teacher? Playing beyond limits? What do you mean?" Kobayakawa Ruri seemed confused.

"Cough, cough, it's nothing, just the teacher in a science education film." Luo Chao explained.

They continued walking towards Paul's bedroom, pushed the door open, and saw Paul still deeply engrossed in his game.

At this moment, Paul had put on headphones to drown out the sound of Luo Chao ringing the doorbell earlier, so even with two living people standing behind him, he remained completely unaware.

Luo Chao glanced at Paul's screen and noticed the game Paul was playing seemed familiar. Then, he saw Paul's game ID, "No Mercy for You."

"Holy cow!" Luo Chao exclaimed in surprise. It turned out the game Paul was playing was the online game Luo Chao previously loved the most, "Magic Alliance."

Back then, during his training with the Dragon Fang Team, one of Luo Chao's favorite pastimes was playing "Magic Alliance" on the computer.

He spent over half a year painstakingly leveling a warrior character to max level and, with great luck, crafted a weapon with Enhancement Level 15. Just as he thought he was invincible, he was utterly defeated by a Divine Level player named "No Mercy for You."

When this Divine Level player PKed with Luo Chao, their skill application and body technique maneuvers were flawless, and their DPS was absurdly high, making Luo Chao want to smash his computer and uninstall the game.

Unexpectedly, the two met today in such a way, making Luo Chao reflect on the irony of fate.

"Hey!" Luo Chao suddenly patted Paul on the shoulder and shouted.

Thinking Paul would be startled, he was surprised when Paul replied, "Don't bother me; I'm fighting a boss right now."

It seemed Paul was so focused on his game that he hadn't even noticed strangers entering his home.

Luo Chao, staying patient, watched as Paul soloed the BOSS, furiously grinding gear while winning in the Imperial City PK arena.

While marveling at Paul's insane gameplay, he also noticed something strange.

"This guy's DPS is still as abnormally high as before. Others' skills do just over 3000 damage, but his character's basic attacks do over 8000, no wonder he can solo bosses." Luo Chao then realized, "Oh my God, this guy must be cheating."

But upon careful thought, Luo Chao found something off. "Magic Alliance's" server is famously anti-cheat.

Any software linked to hacks gets immediately banned, yet Paul not only hadn't been banned, but his cheating was insanely abnormal. It was unbelievable.

Could it be related to his superpower?

Would it count as a superpower if one could cheat without being detected in a game?

If this also counted as a superpower, it would likely be the ability most desired by shut-ins.

30 minutes later, Paul finally completed his "great achievement" of soloing three world bosses.

He removed his headphones and blankly stared at the two unfamiliar Asian faces in front of him, still failing to react.

10 seconds later, "Ah—" Paul screamed, "Who are you, how did you get in! Get out now, or I'll call the police."

Luo Chao had anticipated this reaction. He picked up the lock to Paul's house's anti-theft door and said to Paul, "If you dare make another sound, this will be your fate."

Then Luo Chao casually squashed a perfectly good lock into a metal disc.

Paul had never seen such a scene, not to mention the Asian man in front of him seemed to possess monstrous strength more exaggerated than in a game. Paul was so scared he almost wet himself and quickly covered his mouth.

"Your name's Paul, right?" Luo Chao asked.

"Yes, yes, all my money is in the bedside table. I'm just an ordinary guy, don't hurt me." Paul said while nodding.

"Get lost; I don't want your money. Do you know someone named Uri Geller?" Luo Chao asked.

"Uri Geller? I understand now, you're superpower users! No wonder you're so strong." Paul seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

"That's right, we're all superpower users. You are too, right? So, what's your ability?"

"My ability is to cheat in games and steal gear..." Paul confessed.

"Stop pretending, can that even be called a superpower? Any skilled hacker can do that, right?" Luo Chao looked unconvinced.

"I'm not lying, I am a hacker. Those hackers online call me the Overlord." Paul quickly explained.

"Overlord? What's that?" Luo Chao asked, puzzled.

"The Overlord is recognized as the world's number one hacker in the hacking community. The hacking legend he created is still unmatched by anyone else." Kobayakawa Ruri spoke up.

"Hey, who knew you knew so much about hackers," Luo Chao said in amazement.

"That's because when my father was alive, he was also a hacker. I heard many stories about hackers from him..." Kobayakawa Ruri's expression gradually turned somber as she spoke.

Luo Chao, seeing this, realized Kobayakawa Ruri must have been reminded of some painful memories and refrained from asking more. Instead, he said to Paul, "So you're that legendary world-class hacker?"

"Yes... sort of," Paul said hesitantly.

"Then show me how you cheat and steal gear," Luo Chao said as he casually logged into his old account.

As for why he opened his account, it was clear he had a bit of a selfish motive.

"This doesn't seem right," Paul hesitated.

"Doesn't seem right? What's not right!" Luo Chao punched the wall next to Paul's computer, leaving a big hole in it, intimidatingly.

"Alright, alright, pardon me, hero. I'll hack for you right away and get you some gear," Paul agreed quickly in fear.

Paul closed his eyes and placed his right hand on the computer monitor.

Suddenly, on the computer screen, the equipment bar of Luo Chao's game character inexplicably filled with several weapons, and the character's stats skyrocketed.

"Attack Power 1996+6000"

"Defense Power 1688+6000"

"Life Value 7058+6000"

...

"Wow, this is awesome! All stats boosted by 6000! Your ability is heaven-defying." Luo Chao exclaimed again in amazement.

Opening the equipment bar, Luo Chao began to check the gear that had just appeared out of nowhere.

"Flaming Battle Saber, Attack Power +1000, Hit Rate +40, Enhancement Level 15."

"Flowing Cloud Armor, Physical Defense Power +800, Magic Resistance +500, Enhancement Level 15."

"Beast's Boots, Speed +900, Dodge +30, Enhancement Level 15."

"Celestial Emperor's Helmet, Physical Defense Power +500, Mana Value +1500, Enhancement Level 15."

"Barbarian Cloak, Magic Resistance +800, Life Value +3000, Enhancement Level 15."

...

"These, each is top-tier server equipment; each piece could sell for over ten thousand Huaxia Coins. You just mess with us regular players like this! So shameless," Luo Chao shouted. "But I love it, haha."

Luo Chao tightly gripped Paul's hands as if he had found a kindred spirit!
