The Ultimate Versatile Soldier King

Chapter 594: A Small Knife

"With just this little skill, you might as well die." Spotting the opportunity, Luo Chao kicked out, sending the man flying. After rolling on the ground, the man made no further sound.

"Dead? He really couldn't take a hit." After tidying up the scene, Luo Chao quickly left.

Ouyang Zhenhua was stunned. Wasn't there news of a pair of foreigners illegally entering the country? But this place clearly went through a fierce battle.

"There are two dead bodies here," reported a member of the SWAT team. Although there were only two bodies, one of them was the leader of a foreign organization.

"Did he just die like that? A mercenary once renowned abroad dies just like that?" Ouyang Zhenhua sighed faintly. Although this person couldn't be compared to his former urgency, at least they were from the same world, which stirred a feeling of shared fate.

"Huh, this scar seems to be his doing. Never mind, let's pull out," said Ouyang Zhenhua helplessly.

Despite their curiosity, the others didn't intend to ask further questions and simply left with the team.

"Did the master say you need to go to Haiyang City? When do you plan on leaving?" Uncle Yuan asked worriedly, as the risks facing their young lady grew increasingly severe each day.

If it weren't for Luo Chao's protection, who knows when their young lady might have encountered trouble. Although the Jiang Family's wealth is notable nationwide, money can't solve every issue.

"Now that things are resolved, I'll probably go in a few days. Everything is mostly arranged, so I'll go and be back soon. Let's leave tomorrow."

Luo Chao said with a smile. He always completed the tasks assigned by his employers. Besides, Uncle Jiang treated him well, so he had to do something in return.

Haiyang City, huh? Chen Xiaoqi nodded. He might not know why Uncle Jiang sent Luo Chao, but he was sure it wasn't an ordinary mission.

"I know about the matter in Haiyang City. Seems like it's reached such a point? Never mind, rest a bit and come back soon. The young lady still needs you by her side,"

recalling the reaction of his family's young lady, Uncle Yuan couldn't help but sigh. Back then, she was just a little girl, and now she's already at a marrying age.

Luo Chao wasn't sure about Uncle Yuan's thoughts. He entered his room, bypassed any sleepwear, sat cross-legged, and began cultivating.

The True Qi circulated throughout his body in a small cycle, and Luo Chao felt he was not far from a breakthrough. However, he sensed an elusive opportunity still needed to trigger it.

Opening his eyes, dawn was approaching. Luo Chao had already left early in his car—better to resolve matters sooner.

"Uncle Yuan, has that jerk not come to breakfast yet?" Jiang Yuanyuan asked curiously, feeling quite uneasy.

Logically, that big jerk should've come for breakfast already. Why would he take so long? Could something have happened? Yesterday, she seemed to smell a hint of blood.

"The master sent Mr. Luo Chao on a business trip. He'll be back soon," Uncle Yuan said with a smile.

"Sent on a business trip by my dad, huh? Dad's finally come around, knows how to dismiss my bodyguard."

Despite trying to look happy, Jiang Yuanyuan found she had lost her appetite for breakfast.

"Business trip, huh? Uncle Yuan, do you know when he'll be back? Couldn't Yuanyuan have such a bodyguard by her side? What if something happens?" Chen Xiaoqi got anxious. Originally, he wanted to transfer him but couldn't; now that he no longer wanted him to go, he left without a word.

"He wouldn't be heading to Haiyang City, would he? I heard Uncle Jiang had some trouble over there recently." Chen Xiaoqi seemed to realize something, connecting the dots with what he heard yesterday.

Jiang Yuanyuan was also stunned, as her brother managed affairs in Haiyang City, overseeing all matters within the city.

"What does it matter? Let him go and be done with it. Without him, it's much quieter around here," Jiang Yuanyuan said as she stood up, clearly unwilling to continue discussing the matter.

"Boss, the opponent's attacks are too powerful. With such a strong person supporting them, should we request some people from above?"

A man said anxiously. If this matter continues to stall, this city might become someone else's territory.

"Headquarters has already sent someone; I hear it's someone quite important and will arrive before noon today," the man said helplessly.

He did not want to speak too much about this person since he was allegedly a rural relative found by his uncle for his cousin to be her husband. Yet rumors suggest he's just a bumpkin—how much could such a person accomplish?

"HQ has sent reinforcements, that's good—if they can come up with a solution, it would be the best, of course."

These people didn't only resort to commercial tactics; god knows how many underhand methods they used. Otherwise, how could they be at a disadvantage?

Driving his car, Luo Chao suddenly encountered a heavily made-up woman ahead. Though she wore heavy makeup, Luo Chao knew she wasn't as simple as she seemed.

"Hey handsome, give me a ride, will you? I'm lost here and want to get to Haiyang City..." The woman said with a smile.

The calluses on her fingers indicated she was an expert with guns, and her appearance was far from ordinary.

The problem was simpler—Luo Chao opened the car door and motioned for the woman to get in.

"Thank you so much, or today would've been more troublesome," said the woman, a bit embarrassed, as her mission was at risk of failure due to her mistake.

Being laughed at for such an error was not an option, so success was paramount.

"Hey kid, mind letting me have the car?" After getting in, the woman smiled slightly. She needed this car.

"No way, I've got business over there too. If you don't want to come along, feel free to leave." He ignored the knife in the woman's hand entirely.

That small knife wasn't scary, even if ten more like her showed up. The woman was stunned—was this wealthy playboy too scared to realize who he was talking to?
