The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 468: A Mistake in Judgment

In the morning, Ao Luan bid farewell to Sun Wukong at Huaguo Mountain.

"Brother, may you have a smooth journey."

"Mm."

Sun Wukong nodded and soared into the sky.

The sixth record began.

In the Asura Realm, the Immortals had long been prepared, with each node of the Spiritual Network gradually lighting up.

"Qing Yuanzi, let's check one last time."

Immortal Zhenyuan said.

"Understood."

Qing Yuanzi bustled between the nodes.

"Why is he here?"

The Star Official of Maundering Day curiously asked.

"It's said that rumors started by the wind angered Fairy Yunxiao."

Others replied, "In order to save his skin, Qing Yuanzi fled to this place."

"That is indeed his style."

The Star Official of Maundering Day had no further doubts.

The Immortals readied the Spiritual Network, set up the Magical Treasures, and awaited the coming tide with full confidence.

They turned their eyes to the Three Realms.

Moments later, a dazzling golden light rose from the Three Realms.

The light burst forth, spreading like the Vast Ocean to the Asura Realm, transforming into a brilliant glow in the sky.

"Goodness..."

The Star Official of Maundering Day stared in astonishment: "The mana of the Heavenly Emperor is getting more and more terrifying."

"And more and more beautiful," Immortal Zhenyuan stated.

Sun Wukong's Immortal Body was extraordinary, like an eternal flame, dimming all other lights that surrounded him.

Such a being was unique even in the Chaos Realm.

In the distance, the Buddha Beads opened their eyes.

"Fearless investigation."

It spoke, as the endless tide exploded forward, gushing from the blood-red space in a straight line towards them.

Immortal Zhenyuan turned his gaze towards the approaching tide.

"No problem."

He thought to himself that the volume of this tide did not exceed expectations and would not break the Spiritual Network.

Just as Immortal Zhenyuan was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a panicked cry suddenly rang out from behind him.

"What's wrong?"

He turned his head and saw the scene behind him, freezing in place.

Those nodes of the Spiritual Network placed on the ground were all glowing, with their edges gradually fading away and disappearing.

Everyone in the Asura Realm was panicked and confused; inexplicably, their Magical Treasures were also vanishing.

"Why is this happening?"

Immortal Zhenyuan shouted, "What went wrong?"

"Immortal!"

The Star Official of Maundering Day hurriedly responded, "The power of sweet dew is evaporating."

Immortal Zhenyuan's face fell at once.

Disappearing!?

How could the sweet dew suddenly vanish?

"It's over, we're done for."

Qing Yuanzi lay on the ground, beginning to write his will.

"Don't panic!"

Immortal Zhenyuan glanced at him and said to everyone, "We still have a way."

The crowd turned their gaze to him.

Immortal Zhenyuan sighed; he really didn't want to resort to this method, but now there was no other choice.

"General Guo Shen!"

He called out to General Guo Shen: "Train an army for a thousand days, to use it at a critical moment—it's time for you to sacrifice!"

"As commanded."

General Guo Shen nodded and then soared, growing to an immense height, standing before everyone.

All were shocked.

"General Guo Shen!!"

They were tearfully grateful.

"Nonsense."

However, a sharp reprimand followed, and swathes of Immortal Text symbols emerged, spreading across the Chaos and forming a giant light shadow outside the Asura Realm.

"My dear brother!"

Immortal Zhenyuan was surprised to see the light shadow.

"Heavenly Emperor."

The crowd looked on with joy.

The tide arrived in an instant, crashing against the light shadow, producing a massive roar.

Yet the light shadow remained intact, blocking it.

"So powerful!"

Immortal Zhenyuan was taken aback.

Across millions of miles, Sun Wukong managed to project his power and even held back the tide.

"Can we never catch up to him?"

This thought lingered in Immortal Zhenyuan's mind even after the tide had receded.

The sixth record marked an unprecedented failure for the Three Realms.

Ten years of effort, countless creations and innovations, proved futile.

Not only did the Spiritual Network of the Asura Realm vanish—so did everything in the Three Realms related to sweet dew.

They all disintegrated almost simultaneously, causing a massive upheaval.

The Four Great Continents were thrown into chaos; Immortals gathered in the Heavenly Palace to discuss countermeasures.

"Lord Lao Zi."

The Jade Emperor demanded loudly, "What's going on?"

"The sweet dew is transformed from the Barrier, intrinsically linked."

Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad said gravely, "Before this onslaught of the tide, the Barrier suddenly began collapsing faster, and the sweet dew vaporized with it."

He had spent days investigating, discovering that the sweet dew was transformed from the Barrier. Although processed, it was still affected by the Barrier.

Not only the Barrier collapsed but also the power of the sweet dew.

"Why wasn't this found earlier!"

The Jade Emperor asked furiously.

"Previously, the collapse of the Barrier was limited and did not affect the sweet dew."

Lord Lao Zi responded, "The old way thought they were no longer related."

His miscalculation had cost the Three Realms ten years.

The hearts of the Immortals were heavy.

No one anticipated such a complete collapse of the Barrier, leaving no trace of the sweet dew's power.

"Imperial Brother."

The Jade Emperor turned to Sun Wukong, "What should we do?"

Sun Wukong had been silently seated, and now he spoke again.

"Let's see if we can salvage the situation."

He said, "If not, then we abandon the sweet dew."

He harbored some doubts.

Why would the Barrier accelerate its collapse just before the tide?

As if it was in collusion with the Buddha Beads.
