Ten years later, at Virtue Palace
Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad led a group of Immortals to the Observatory, gazing at the figure that had been standing there for quite some time.
His robes fluttered in the wind, the cold silhouette seemed to merge with heaven and earth; ever since Sun Wukong's departure, the Jade Emperor often emanated this aura of solitude.
"Your Majesty."
Lord Lao Zi approached the Jade Emperor from behind and saluted, "We will be departing soon."
"I know."
The Jade Emperor nodded with emotion: "It is truly incredible, I thought it would take hundreds of years to set out, and yet we have achieved it so swiftly."
"All thanks to that Huabiao."
Lord Lao Zi smiled, "Had we not unlocked its secrets, we wouldn't have known that the Three Realms could actually be moved."
"Imperial Brother would have never imagined what kind of treasure he left behind."
The Jade Emperor expressed his regrets, "Why did he have to study it alone? It would have been better if he had told us earlier."
"Your Majesty, at that time, we did not have the capacity."
Lord Lao Zi said.
At that time, all beings of the Three Realms were fully engaged in the battle against the great calamity; there was no spare time to decipher the Huabiao.
"Moreover, without the Heavenly Emperor's notes, we would not have been able to unlock the Huabiao even in a hundred years."
Lord Lao Zi added, "The wisdom of the Heavenly Emperor is unparalleled. If the calamity had come a few years later, he would certainly have unlocked the secret, too."
"That's what is truly regrettable."
The Jade Emperor shook his head and turned to the Immortals to ask, "Has Ao Luan returned?"
"No."
Someone immediately reported, "She is still on that lost piece of land."
The separated land from the Three Realms ultimately did not return.
Ao Luan had the Immortals transform it, but she stayed there.
"We cannot delay any longer, go call Ao Luan back."
The Jade Emperor stated, "The portal is collapsing, we don't have much time."
"Yes."
The Immortals took the order and left.
Ten years ago, the Immortals investigated the direction from which Sun Wukong had departed and discovered a passage behind the blood-red space, leading to an unknown place.
But that space had been collapsing, with a powerful suction force attracting the surrounding dust to accumulate constantly, blocking the passage.
Lord Lao Zi said that if these ashes continued to gather in such a manner, in tens of thousands of years, they would become a blazing fireball.
They should leave as soon as possible.
In the midst of Chaos, the Immortals also gathered the fragments of the Asura Realm.
The Bodhisattva Guanyin walked on the battered land, performing the final fortifications.
"Bodhisattva, I don't understand."
Mu Zha followed behind Guanyin, watching her sprinkle precious Jade Dew on the desolate ground: "That piece of land is one thing, but why do we need to gather these fragments too?"
"It's an order."
Guanyin saw some mortals flying in the sky; they flew with swords and cast spells to stabilize the cracks in the ground.
The wisdom of Immortal Dao, after the great calamity, had been widely disseminated, and mortals had also become exceedingly powerful.
"The Heavenly Empress's orders, we only need to execute them."
Guanyin looked up towards the sky.
On one side of the sky was the Three Realms, gleaming like an Immortal Mirror, and on the other, was that forsaken piece of dark land.
The dark land too had been transformed by the Immortals; now there were dense clouds, storms, and swirling frosts everywhere.
Ao Luan walked slowly alone by the seaside, barefoot.
A Moon Wheel emitted a bright luminance, hovering near her. The incoming storm was blocked, turning into a gentle breeze that lifted the tips of her hair.
"Ao Luan."
Daji, holding a small lantern, stood at a distance, her dress swaying in the wind: "We should leave now."
"I know."
Ao Luan looked at a rock cliff covered with white thorns.
Such thorns had already vanished in the Three Realms, but on this land, they still withstood the cold and the rain.
Amongst the thorns, a flower emerged from rock crevices, on the verge of blossoming.
Ao Luan bent down wanting to move the flower, but ultimately stopped.
Perhaps a flower blooming amongst thorns possesses its own unique beauty.
"Great King once said that all things will eventually revive."
Ao Luan withdrew her hands and stood up: "No matter how long it takes, this place will once again be full of life."
"You really like Great King a lot, don't you?"
Daji said somewhat enviously.
"What about you?"
Ao Luan asked in return.
"I want to find Great King; he can lead me to even more beautiful things."
Daji said: "Since his departure, this place has become uninteresting."
"Then let's go chase him now."
Ao Luan smiled faintly: "Together, let's go see a bigger world."
Above her head, a misty Immortal Mountain hovered in mid-air.
It stood amidst the storm, yet remained untouched, surrounded by clouds, and the pavilions and terraces with golden tiles and lustrous glazing could be vaguely seen, enveloped in a soft light.
That was the Heavenly Empress Palace.
Ao Luan walked towards the Heavenly Empress Palace.
Young girls dressed in green, with treasure swords hanging at their waists, lined up on both sides, each with a diamond-shaped mark on their foreheads, symbolizing the Heavenly Dao.
"My Lady."
The young girls saluted Ao Luan.
Ao Luan returned to Immortal Mountain, which emitted a silvery light and flew into the high skies.
Daji turned back to gaze at the departing dark land: "Aren't you going to give it a name?"
"A name."
Ao Luan had never thought of it before.
She overlooked the world for the final time: "It is so fragile, let's just call it Earth."
After leaving behind a tiny spark of fire, the shimmering Immortal Mountain left the dark land.
To seek out that lone figure, the vast Three Realms began to move, disappearing into Chaos.
A lengthy journey had begun.
Their story might become unknown to all.
But one day, Chaos will be broken through, and a new world will be born.
