The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 33: The Kua Fu Clan

Immortal Zhenyuan refused to walk any further.

"I'll go ahead then."

Sun Wukong walked a little ahead, and then he secretly blew a breath out.

The cold wind in the mountains suddenly became fierce, carrying snowflakes that fell on the unprotected neck of Zhen Yuan Daxian, making him shiver violently.

"Forget it, forget it, I'll go in with you, younger brother."

Immortal Zhenyuan immediately ran over.

Sun Wukong gave a slight smile.

The two walked towards the residence of the Kua Fu tribe. They were still outside the mountains and had not entered, when suddenly huge ice blocks flew out from inside.

"They don't welcome us!"

Immortal Zhenyuan skillfully stood behind Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong frowned slightly, raised his Jingu Bang, and with a "boom," the ice block shattered on a Giant's knee, breaking into slush.

"My leg, aaaah!"

The awakened Giant screamed miserably and then passed out again.

Immortal Zhenyuan looked at the Giant's knee, bleeding profusely: "Younger brother, did you do that on purpose?"

"..."

Sun Wukong fell silent.

He was too strong and forgot for a moment that the impact involved two Giants.

This was troublesome.

Sun Wukong thought so, but at that moment, several Giant children, hearing the screams, ran out.

They saw the Kua Fu outside the mountains, hesitated, and then ran back in fear.

"We hit Kua Fu's knee with a snowball!"

"He is injured, it's all because you put stones in the snowball!"

The children shouted, running back to the mountains.

Sun Wukong and Immortal Zhenyuan exchanged a glance.

"We don't have to go in now."

Immortal Zhenyuan said: "They will definitely come out."

Sun Wukong nodded, setting down the two Giants.

Shortly after, a group of Giants ran out from the mountains and surrounded the two.

"I said earlier that we shouldn't have come in."

Immortal Zhenyuan looked up at these Giants, each like a towering mountain: "They could crush us with a single foot."

"Only if they dare step on us."

Sun Wukong replied.

The Giants carried their injured kin inside, leaving three Giants looking vigilantly at the two men.

"Younger brother, the White Dragon is missing."

Immortal Zhenyuan noticed that the White Dragon, which had been guiding them, was gone.

"It snuck in during the chaos, don't worry about it."

Sun Wukong replied.

He stepped forward: "I want to talk to your Clan Leader."

"Shut up, you little thing!"

One Giant yelled angrily: "The one injured just now is our Clan Leader!"

Another Giant said: "You've got some nerve, daring to ambush our Clan Leader and trying to blame it on our children!"

They weren't foolish; a look told them Kua Fu's injury was not something a snowball could inflict.

"We had no intention of framing anyone."

Sun Wukong said.

"Still denying it, all of you must die here!"

The last and most furious Giant couldn't hold back his rage any longer, and raised his huge foot to stomp towards Sun Wukong.

Divine Rings spread behind Sun Wukong, and the night lit up as if it were day, making the Giants cover their eyes and scream.

"What in the world!"

"This guy is strange!"

When they had finally adjusted to the brightness and looked at Sun Wukong again, they saw him surrounded by thousands of rays of Immortal Light and strands of auspicious vapor.

"Is he, is he the sun?"

One Giant stuttered with his question.

"What nonsense! How can the sun be so small!"

Another Giant replied.

"There must be some luminous treasure on him!"

The irritable Giant reached out his hand towards Sun Wukong: "I'll flatten him and take it!"

Sun Wukong sighed. These Giants couldn't even sense his prowess, so he could only take action.

He was about to lift his Jingu Bang when suddenly more footsteps echoed from the mountains.

"Stop!"

An older Giant hurried out, stopping the rash youth.

"Immortal, please forgive my tribespeople."

The old Giant said, bowing to Sun Wukong: "But please understand their anger over the Clan Leader's injury."

Sun Wukong glanced at what was behind him and saw the White Dragon.

"It's alright."

Sun Wukong nodded.

Even though he didn't know what had happened, it was evident the White Dragon had found him someone to talk to.

"The fault lies with us, we will help heal your Clan Leader."

Sun Wukong said: "But your tribe's physique is different, I don't know how to heal it."

He tried using Spell to heal Kua Fu, but it wasn't very effective.

"The Clan Leader's knee injury is severe. Our tribe doesn't heal easily from injuries – it takes years to recover."

The old Giant shook his head: "Finding a medicine in a short time is not easy."

Sun Wukong caught the key point; the old Giant said finding medicine was not easy, meaning he knew a way to heal.

"You can tell me what medicine is needed."

Sun Wukong said: "I've heard about your Clan Leader's plight, he wants to chase after the sun?"

"There is no sun here, and soon all living creatures will perish."

The old Giant nodded: "For the sake of the Northern Wilderness, we must find the sun."

Sun Wukong's mind brightened, understanding that a world without light would be hard for any living creature to survive.

It was for this reason that he actively wanted to help Kua Fu.

However, Immortal Zhenyuan did not think the same.

"It's just the sun!"

He said: "Younger brother, we can also chase after it."
