The City's Strongest Son-in-law

Chapter 613 Trouble Comes Again

Wang Feifei stared blankly at the gradually receding figure of Su Changfeng and slumped down to the ground.

How could she feel such heartache for him? She knew from the start he was married, so why put in all this futile effort?

And Han Xue is the most beautiful person in Jiang City—what right did she have to compete with Han Xue for a man?

"If we were in ancient times, it would be perfect; men could have many wives, and I'd have a chance." Wang Feifei wasn't sure where this thought came from, marked by a face full of unwillingness.

Su Changfeng had always been decisive when it came to matters of love. No matter how beautiful or elegant the girl standing in front of him was, even if she had an irresistible allure, Su Changfeng could resist doing anything that would betray Han Xue.

It was because, after marrying into the Shen Family for three years, Su Changfeng had caused Han Xue to bear many unjust names, and if he couldn't treat Han Xue well for the rest of his life, he wouldn't forgive himself.

Returning to that breakfast shop once more, Su Changfeng suddenly realized that this seemed to have become a habit for him, like being under a spell. If he didn't buy some fried dough sticks and soy milk every morning after running, it felt like he was forgetting something.

When Su Changfeng appeared, in a hidden spot around the breakfast shop, there were a few hooligan-looking people hiding. One of them was the tattooed muscular man Su Changfeng had beaten up before. It looked like this time he had found a few helpers and intended to settle the score.

"That's the guy. You guys listen to my orders in a bit. I can't swallow my anger unless we give him a real beating," the tattooed man said, gritting his teeth.

"Are you kidding? You couldn't beat such a small guy?" said the person next to the tattooed man, sneering, evidently not having much confidence in Su Changfeng.

The tattooed man smirked coldly. He had underestimated Su Changfeng before, but the end result was being soundly beaten. This guy's ability wasn't something you could judge by eyesight alone. If you only judged by his physique, you'd surely suffer a loss.

"Don't underestimate that guy; he's particularly skilled," said the tattooed man.

"How skilled can he be? I could handle him single-handedly. We don't even need that many brothers," said the person disdainfully.

The tattooed man glanced at the others. Their expressions were pretty much alike, but that wasn't surprising. Judging from Su Changfeng's surface, nothing seemed particularly impressive.

"Better be careful. I called you to help me regain face; don't embarrass me again," said the tattooed man.

"Rest assured, if I can't take down that kind of weakling, then how can we continue to mix in the future? It'd be like slapping Brother Bin in the face," said the person, a follower of Feng Bin, but he claimed publicly to be working with Feng Bin, even as Feng Bin's right-hand man. This title made him a big shot in some circles in Jiang City, though he didn't even qualify to stand beside Feng Bin in reality.

"With your assurance, I can be at ease," said the tattooed man.

Just as Su Changfeng was queuing, the tattooed man led these people over.

The people queuing up for breakfast now were mostly white-collar workers living nearby. Many of them had witnessed the previous incident. The imposing return of the tattooed man and his gang was clearly to avenge Su Changfeng.

"Dude, you better run. That guy's back to get revenge on you."

"You should leave now; there are many of them, don't try to act tough."

Some kind-hearted people warned Su Changfeng.

Only then did Su Changfeng follow their gazes and indeed saw the tattooed man leading a group toward him, and there were quite a few of them this time.

"It's fine; these guys aren't a match for me," said Su Changfeng indifferently.

The other customers didn't seem to believe Su Changfeng's words much. Even though his last time had surprised them, today, they were facing six people in total. A common saying is that an arm can't twist a thigh; no matter how good Su Changfeng's skills, he couldn't possibly beat all six.

"Young man, you should leave soon. The saying goes that one who knows the times is a wise man."

"These people look very adept; you can't possibly beat them alone."

"It's not just the tattooed man this time; don't risk getting face for fear of risking face. As long as the green hills remain, there will be wood to burn."

It's clear that these good-hearted people advising Su Changfeng genuinely cared for his well-being, and there wasn't any sarcasm. After all, Su Changfeng had stood up for them earlier, and they didn't want to see a tragic outcome for him.

But for Su Changfeng, these guys were nothing, just big and intimidating with no real utility.

"Don't worry, I can take these guys down single-handedly," Su Changfeng said casually.

The well-meaning people couldn't believe Su Changfeng and thought he just didn't want to lose face and so was unwilling to leave.

Even if one doesn't vie for bread but for dignity, why stick around when you know you'll lose and get beaten?

"Alas, you're still somewhat naive."

"If you don't want to leave, then we have nothing more to say; just be careful out there."

Some of them felt their kindness was being disregarded by Su Changfeng and started having other thoughts, wanting to see how he'd be taken down by the tattooed man and his group.

"Taking good intentions for donkey's liver and lungs—don't expect help from anyone in the future."

"Exactly, do you really think you're invincible? Don't cry for help when you're beaten."

Then, already in front of Su Changfeng, the tattooed man threatened, "Last time you beat me was my carelessness. I'm here with some brothers for a few moves with you. If you want to run, I won't stop you. Just admit defeat on your knees."

Su Changfeng spread his hands indifferently, "Do you see me planning to run? I've been waiting for you right here."

Seeing Su Changfeng so calm, the tattooed man suddenly felt a bit unsure—could this kid really not be afraid of them?

"You damn arrogant brat, this time I'll teach you a free lesson," the one claiming to be Feng Bin's follower was the first to throw a punch at Su Changfeng.
