Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas

Chapter 191: Encounter

Chu Chen squatted beside Shang Yong and reached into his clothes, searching around before pulling out a belt and a bracelet.

Chu Chen examined the belt and discovered it was the Space Belt.

Upon inspection, he found that besides some clothes and commonly used elixir pills, there were only a few star cores and some star treasures inside.

After placing the usable items into his own Space Belt, he tossed some clothes into the void and then put away the Space Belt.

He then took out the bracelet and examined it closely. He was quite familiar with it; it was a Beast Taming Bracelet distributed by the Daoist School.

This was a valuable item, worth two to three million.

Upon checking the Beast Taming Bracelet, Chu Chen found several very similar, unidentified Beast Taming Eggs inside.

Chu Chen took out one Beast Taming Egg and carefully examined it in front of him.

A moment later, he shook his head with some helplessness, clearly unable to determine the origin of the Beast Taming Egg.

Just as Chu Chen was about to place the Beast Taming Egg back into the Beast Taming Bracelet, an idea suddenly popped into his mind.

He wondered if the Slaughter Atlas could reveal the origin of this Beast Taming Egg.

With this thought, Chu Chen did not hesitate and immediately called out the Slaughter Atlas to experiment.

Seeing this, Chu Chen revealed a look of joy. He hadn't expected the Slaughter Atlas to be so formidable, capable of even detecting information about the Beast Taming Egg.

Unfortunately, it could only reveal the name, quality, and attribute; everything else was unknown.

But this was quite normal; the Beast Taming Egg hadn't hatched yet. Being able to view so much information was already quite impressive. If it could also detect growth talent and skills, that would be like predicting the future.

Looking at the Beast Taming Egg in his hand, Chu Chen couldn't help but sigh. Shang Yong was indeed poor, as this Beast Taming Egg was only worth tens of thousands, but it was better than nothing, especially since it was obtained for free.

After putting away the Beast Taming Egg, Chu Chen took out a lighter and set Shang Yong's clothes on fire, then quickly left the place.

The aftermath of this battle was quite fruitful for Chu Chen, earning him an additional ten thousand Slaughter Value, and all of Shang Yong's belongings together were worth several million; truly it was like killing and plundering a golden belt.

However, Chu Chen's greatest gain wasn't the wealth, but a better understanding of this world.

Perhaps Shang Yong was right; to become stronger, one must fight and seize.

Reflecting on his experiences of the past half year, it seemed he had been fighting and seizing a lot.

Fighting for the resources of peers in Celestial Star City and seizing treasures guarded by Star Beasts.

This time he was quite lucky. If not for Shang Yong's arrogance in attacking Nirvana instead of him, he might indeed have perished today.

It was deserved for Shang Yong; his intent was simply to see Chu Chen experience helplessness, regret, and other negative emotions to satisfy his own revengeful psychology.

Unfortunately, he didn't know that Nirvana possessed the ability of Limb Regeneration.

In hindsight, this might be a good thing for Chu Chen. As they say, one should harm others with caution, and it's important to be wary of others. It's better to act with more caution in the future.

By now, the sky had completely darkened, and Chu Chen held the Yin Yang Fish Jade Pendant in his hand, sensing that its suction seemed to have increased considerably.

Chu Chen roughly calculated the suction, estimating that in a few more hours, he might meet Zhang Yuyan.

However, after several rounds of battle, the combat power of the two beasts was only at thirty percent, and Chu Chen himself felt extremely fatigued. The urgent matter was to find a safe place to rest properly.

After advancing for a while, Chu Chen found an abandoned cave.

He entered the cave and found nothing but some withered branches and leaves.

After a simple cleaning of the cave, Chu Chen took out a mattress and blanket from his Space Belt.

These were bought during his time in Celestial Star City, and he couldn't carry them before because he didn't have space equipment.

Now that he had equipment, he would naturally make good use of it.

After laying out the mattress, Chu Chen eagerly crawled into the blanket, while the two beasts rested silently beside the mattress.

No one knew how much time had passed before Chu Chen slowly woke up. He asked Lei Yao to move away the huge stone blocking the cave's entrance and found that it was already daylight.

After taking out food and water from the Space Belt to feed the two beasts, he quickly took out his toiletries, tidied up briefly, and then set off immediately.

Chu Chen once again took out the Yin Yang Fish Jade Pendant. After feeling the direction and suction, his face changed suddenly.

The suction from the Yin Yang Fish Jade Pendant had become much stronger, yet there was a significant deviation from the direction.

This meant that something might have happened on Zhang Yuyan's side.

Yet, he couldn't determine what had happened; it might have been a mountain or sheer cliff blocking the way, or perhaps she encountered something else.

Chu Chen cleared his thoughts and urged the two beasts to hurry along the road.

After a night of rest, the two beasts had recovered to peak status, and they had mastered the suddenly elevated skill levels.

At Chu Chen's request, the two beasts increased their speed to the maximum.

Feeling the suction from the Yin Yang Fish jade becoming stronger, Chu Chen had a vague sense of unease.

About a quarter of an hour later, Lei Yao suddenly stopped, his dark nose slightly wrinkled, and then he let out a low growl to Chu Chen.

Upon hearing the growl, Chu Chen quickly instructed Nirvana to stop.

On Chu Chen's signal, Lei Yao led the way forward.

Soon, Lei Yao stopped behind a large tree.

Seeing this, Chu Chen quickly guided Nirvana to move forward, peering out to see the commotion not far away.

He focused his gaze and discovered that the battle consisted of a fiery red giant lion, on whose back a young girl clad in battle attire sat.

Their opponents were three Star Beasts: one was entirely fiery red, a flying-type Star Beast, while the other two were a massive lizard and a giant wolf, all pitch-black.

The girl was, indeed, Zhang Yuyan, and the three Star Beasts evidently came from the outside.

Chu Chen was quite speechless about this; what were the odds that Zhang Yuyan would be besieged by three Star Beasts simultaneously?

Chu Chen did not rush to intervene but carefully observed the three Star Beasts. Given Zhang Yuyan's prowess, these three Beasts couldn't quickly deal with her, especially since she had many trump cards and her safety was not a concern.

Chu Chen called out the Slaughter Atlas to check the information of the three Star Beasts.

The red avian Guardian Beast was called Burning Flame Sparrow, with a Perfect Level Middle Grade quality, and its realm had already reached Second Rank Commander Level.

The giant lizard was called Earth Demon Lizard, and its quality was also Perfect Level Middle Grade, with a realm of Third Rank Commander Level.

The last black wolf was called Abyss Wolf, possessing an astonishing Epic Level Upper Grade quality, but its realm was slightly lower, only First Rank Commander Level.
