Worldwide Class Change: An Invincible Swordsman

Chapter 262 Goddess Eleanor is Furious_1

Eleanor was furious. "Are you questioning my decision?"

Jiang Chen retorted loudly, "Exactly! And it's not just me; they all question your decision. They're just too scared to say it. You think you're the Son of God, high and mighty, but your decision is wrong, and of course, I'm going to question it."

"I'm fighting for the Alliance of All-Gods, not to die for you."

The others laughed.

They, too, questioned Eleanor's decision. Attacking like this would lead to countless deaths. Standing atop the city walls, they could unleash magic from a distance; it was clearly a poor decision. Yet, no one dared to question it—not when it came from the high and mighty Son of God, Eleanor.

How the hell did she even level up? Is she fit to lead a group of Heroes in fierce battle? Does she even know how to wage war? Jiang Chen desperately wanted to voice these thoughts.

Eleanor trembled with rage. This damn Hero. Daring to question her decision.

Eleanor snapped, "Then what do you suggest we do?"

"This isn't for me to decide. You should be discussing strategies with the eighteen legion commanders, not just commanding on your own. No offense, but you are not fit to be a commander-in-chief."

Eleanor looked at them. After pondering for a moment, she said, "Alright then, let's discuss how we can take this town."

Arno stepped forward. "Melee Heroes, prepare and hold your positions in case the enemy charges. Magicians, stand by behind them, ready at a moment's notice. Archers, mount your Giant Dragons and form a defensive formation."

After Arno finished speaking, he added, "Everyone, let's discuss a strategy on how to take this small town."

All seventeen legion commanders nodded. It was clear that a rash attack was the wrong choice.

"Jiang Chen, you're incredible! Daring to scold the Son of God."

"I have to say, you were absolutely right to do so."

"Keep it down; don't let Eleanor hear you."

"You're the first one who dares to question Eleanor; she's the Son of God from the Upper Realm."

Jiang Chen smiled. "What's there to be afraid of? She's clearly an idiot, yet she dares to call herself a commander? If I hadn't spoken up and berated her, you'd all be marching to your deaths."

Jiang Chen looked ahead. "Look at the warriors across from us—nearly five meters tall and obviously melee experts. Charging headlong at them would be suicide."

"How should we attack the city? With our hands?"

Jiang Chen was speechless. This woman has no vision, calling herself a Son of God, pah...

Eleanor, grinding her teeth in anger, asked, "Who is that man? What's his name?"

"My lord, his name is Jiang Chen. He's a human."

"A human?"

"Yes, a First-Stage Swordsman."

Upon hearing this, Eleanor grew even more furious. A mere First-Stage Swordsman dares to question me! Who do you think you are? Don't I have any dignity?

Eleanor raged, "This brat dares to question my decision! I'm going to..."

"My lord, he's a fifth-order [Apostle]."

Eleanor sneered, "I recall one must be at least Second-Stage to be promoted to [Apostle]. When we return, investigate this immediately. This person must have used connections. Expel him!"

"My lord, that might be quite difficult."

Eleanor frowned. "What's so difficult about that?"

"My lord, you may not know, but during the last battle with the Defiled God Camp, this person single-handedly killed 200,000 Corrupted Heroes."

Eleanor exclaimed, "What?"

"My lord, he also killed Gresham, the Son of God of the Defiled God Camp. Although he is a First-Stage Swordsman, the Alliance of All-Gods specially promoted him because of his illustrious military achievements."

Eleanor jumped in shock. He killed Gresham! How did he do it?

Eleanor looked at Jiang Chen's information:

[Killed 200,000 Corrupted Heroes, promoted to [Apostle]]

[Killed Son of God Gresham, advanced to fifth-order [Apostle]]

Even though Eleanor was a Son of God with certain privileges, to revoke Jiang Chen's [Apostle] rank, she had to apply to the Alliance of All-Gods.

"But he insulted you in public, my lord! No matter his military achievements, he cannot be exempted from punishment."

"Who dares to question the Son of God's decision in public?"

"I'll go and execute him on the spot as a warning to all the legions."

"That's inadvisable. After all, he is an [Apostle] and someone the Alliance favors. Killing him would bring significant trouble."

"He's in the [Apostle] Sequence, but I'm in the [Cataclysm] Sequence!"

Eleanor stood up. "Hold on. Let's take down the town first. We'll see what plan they devise then."

A short meeting among a dozen people took place.

Eleanor asked, "Well, any plans?"

Arno stepped forward. "Send out some Super Long-Range Attack Classes to circle above the town, assess enemy numbers, and then we can formulate a plan."

"Is this what you've discussed?" Eleanor frowned deeply.

Arno laughed. "A rash attack would only lead to heavy losses. First, let's ascertain the enemy's numbers, then consider our strategy. Air superiority is our advantage; we have many Dragon Knights. We can neutralize the Underworld Clan's aerial forces before launching our main attack."

All the legion commanders echoed in support.

"This way, we can achieve victory at a very low cost."

"The enemy's situation is unclear. A rash attack would only lead to heavy losses."

"Although the enemy also has aerial mounts, they don't seem to have as many as we do."

"We have a lot of Dragon Knights. The air is our advantage."

Eleanor nodded. "Then let's do as you suggest!"

"We shall obey your orders, my lord."

Eleanor turned and left.

"Arno," someone remarked, "you should have suggested establishing a joint command."

Arno shook his head. "The time isn't right. We'll discuss it after we've taken the town."

Bring it up now? That would be like trying to seize military authority! This woman might be dumb, but she's not stupid.

...

Arlene glared fiercely at Jiang Chen. "Are you insane? She's the Son of God! You berated her—do you have any idea what that means?"

Jiang Chen laughed. "I've already berated her. What more do you want? Are you going to drag me out and execute me?"

"I want to execute you ten thousand times!"

"Once is enough."

Soon, a group of Super Long-Range Attack Classes, riding Giant Dragons, flew towards the city. Jiang Chen stood aside. This is indeed the best approach—utilize our aerial advantage to clearly assess the enemy's situation. A rash attack would be suicide.

Just as the Dragon Knights flew over, the enemy's Warcraft also took to the sky.

The two sides clashed in battle.

Jiang Chen watched as the sky changed. Most of the Dragon Knights were of super long-range classes, such as Archers, Sharpshooters, and Magicians.

The same was true for the other side.

They also had Archers and Magicians, though predominantly the latter. Their magic, aside from the five series, also included abilities resembling spatial offensive attacks.

Countless people watched the battle unfold in the sky.

Arno frowned deeply. "Their Warcraft also possess magic offensive attacks, no less potent than those of our Giant Dragons."

"Yes, they seem to have a powerful individual on their side—a Spatial Series expert capable of nullifying all attacks."

"They're about to break! Arno, order a swift retreat!"

Arno nodded. The command was issued, and all Dragon Knights returned.
