Chapter 112 Homeroom Teacher "Lin Shiling

Lin Yi's brow furrowed slightly as he found the world beyond the door unexpectedly quiet, a stark contrast to the bustling classroom he had left at 20:30 the previous night—it was as if he had stepped into a different world.

He couldn't help but look up at the classroom's doorplate again:

"Group B, Class 2".

"No mistake, this is definitely my classroom..." Lin Yi narrowed his eyes, "It seems something big must have happened last night to have them so spooked."

This change and reaction had all flashed through Lin Yi's mind in the moment that Wei Liang had pushed the door open just a crack.

It seemed Wei Liang hadn't noticed anything unusual; he simply pushed the door open and walked in. But once inside, his demeanor clearly showed a moment of surprise.

After confirming there was nothing abnormal with the doorplate, Lin Yi too followed in.

However, as he entered, he immediately noticed the fine dust particles floating in the air.

The drifting sensation of these particles was akin to a dim, dusty chamber that suddenly had its skylight thrown open, with a cool breeze and sunlight pouring in, stirring up the static dust to dance about.

Hastily, Lin Yi looked towards the floor tiles not far from the classroom door and, sure enough, saw a faint white trail on them, as if someone had dragged something lined with plaster.

The trail was almost gone, with what remained disintegrating into pieces under the sunlight at a speed visible to the naked eye, then crumbling into countless specks of dust that dissolved into the air, vanishing completely.

After entering, Lin Yi and Wei Liang became the focal point of all the other students' gazes, but Lin Yi noticed that there was a... teacher sitting on the teacher's desk directly in front of Wei Liang.

Not their homeroom teacher, but someone dressed similarly... another homeroom teacher.

This new teacher appeared younger than their regular homeroom teacher, like a sunny and friendly girl-next-door.

She wore her hair in a simple bun and was dressed in a black silk OL uniform identical to the homeroom teacher's, sitting on a stool placed before the desk.

Next to her was the roll call folder; one hand supported her cheek while the other spun a black pen.

The black pen traveled nimbly between her slender fingers like a swimming fish. As the sunlight streamed in, she slowly glanced sideways, casting her beautiful eyes upon Lin Yi and Wei Liang.

"Please come sign in," she greeted Lin Yi and Wei Liang with a smile.

Wei Liang was clearly still confused, his eyes brimming with intense puzzlement, but upon hearing the new teacher's words, he subconsciously started moving forward.

Lin Yi pressed down on Wei Liang's shoulder, then stepped in front of him, giving him a look that seemed to say, "Wait a moment, don't rush."

He then slowly approached the new teacher, his gaze scanning over her like radar, and after much effort, he found a white acrylic name tag just below her slightly creased collar near her snow-white neck, then squinted his eyes to focus on the badge number.

But, to his surprise, at that moment he felt as if he had special abilities, able to make the name tag slowly rise and clearly display its number before his eyes!

"Homeroom Teacher – B2-040."

Not 039... but otherwise, there was nothing wrong.

"Have you seen clearly? If you have, come and sign in," the new teacher's gentle voice reached his ears at that moment.

He snapped back to reality, realizing that it wasn't the name tag that had floated up on its own but that the homeroom teacher had pushed out her chest upon noticing his gaze, to better expose her badge...

A hint of embarrassment appeared on his face, and he then stepped forward to take the folder to sign.

But the hand that was supporting the teacher's cheek suddenly pressed down on the folder, "You've got the procedure wrong, student, just report your name and student number, and that's fine."

Her face wore a gentle smile, but Lin Yi could distinctly feel a sense of oppression.

He had a strong premonition that the moment his hand touched the folder, the black pen weaving through her slender fingers would stab through his throat like a sharp knife...

So, he stepped back silently, "Lin Yi, student number X0230506098."

"Alright, Lin... Yi... student." The homeroom teacher quickly flipped through the folder, found Lin Yi's information, and made a checkmark with the black pen.

"And you, student?"

"Wei Liang, X0230506096."

"Okay."

The homeroom teacher also made a checkmark above Lin Yi's name.

Lin Yi noticed that between their names, there was an "×".

"If I remember correctly, that student's name is... Bai Fangshuo?" Lin Yi murmured to himself, Bai Fangshuo's student number was X0230506097.

"This is strange, Liangzi and I entered the office one after the other, in theory, the sequence should be consecutive, so when did this Bai Fangshuo cut in line?" he couldn't help but speculate.

"Alright, you can go back to your seats now," the homeroom teacher reminded.

Wei Liang voiced an "Oh," but couldn't help giving the homeroom teacher's name tag a puzzled look.

Lin Yi also inquired, "Teacher, if I may ask, where did our previous homeroom teacher go, umm... I mean, is it within my current status to ask this question?"
