Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds

Chapter 287: 122 Advanced Legendary Knight (Please Collect)_4

Rare.

Yana seemed to truly accept Carl as her Guardian only now as she spoke of the secrets she carried.

"Hair turning white, eyes turning black, that is one of the characteristics," she said.

"So you mean..." Carl nodded, "your strength has increased significantly compared to before."

"Yes," Yana nodded, her expression solemn, "I need to be stronger by your side."

Unlike before, when she relied on faith to increase her combat strength, she was now actively unleashing the power of the Evil God within her body. This would increase the chances of mutations and shorten her lifespan, but it would also enhance her own strength.

"..." Carl shook his head. "Alright then! Let's leave this place first."

The collection of Great Divine Grace was complete, and there was little point in staying any longer. Although it was possible to obtain Source Material from killing the red-eyed shark-people, they were hidden among the regular shark-people and difficult to spot. Without others to draw the shark-people's attention, it was also too easy to land oneself in danger.

He hadn't gone far when his eyes flickered slightly. He immediately turned to look at a wall behind him.

"Conni," he said. "What a coincidence?"

...

"What a coincidence?" Carl's voice rang out.

Hiding amidst the ruins, Conni slowly stood up and nodded towards the man and woman not far away. He wasn't surprised to find Carl still alive.

"Elder Carl, we meet again."

"Indeed," Carl said with a smile. "Looks like things are almost settled. Why don't we leave together and head back to Jiliu City?"

"Elder Carl!" Besides Conni, six other dirty companions were also hiding in the ruins.

One of them, his eyes wide with anger, shouted, "You, as an elder of the Chamber of Commerce, have been hiding here all this time, watching people from the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce die? You... Shameless!"

The others were equally furious. They had previously thought Carl was dead and had even lamented that he had put himself in danger to save others. Now, Carl was unharmed. It was evident that the earlier scene had been a ruse to create an opportunity for him to escape.

"Just protecting myself," Carl shook his head. "Besides, what could I have done even if I had stayed?"

"If you had stayed, at least there would've been a greater chance for the others to survive," one of the women among them said angrily. "Even a Great Knight like Sir Quincy chose not to give up. Elder Carl, you've been a huge disappointment!"

"Is that so?" Carl's expression remained unchanged. "Then, where is Quincy now?"

The group's expressions stiffened.

Quincy was dead! Killed by the shark-people.

"Elder Carl," Conni began slowly, "the Death Knights aim to enter the City Lord's mansion. Once John gets what he's after, he will return to Jiliu City to assume the role of acting City Lord. Do you think he would spare us?"

Carl's brow furrowed slightly. If John really went to Jiliu City to act as City Lord, it wouldn't be a matter of sparing us or not; everyone would become his slaves. The people from the City of Death seem to take enslaving others for granted and don't value human life at all. Could it be... time to leave Jiliu City?

"So what?" After some thought, Carl sighed with resignation. "You don't really think that just the few of us could stop three hundred Death Knights, do you?"

Never mind the three hundred Death Knights; they were no match for John alone. Carl wasn't about to become arrogant just because he had advanced to the Legendary realm. On the contrary, after becoming Legendary, he became even more aware of John's strength.

If one were to categorize Legendary Knights into early, middle, and late stages, Bob and his current self would be in the early stage. Yana and Joseph belonged to the middle stage. And John... he was a late-stage Legendary Knight! Even an Official Wizard might not be John's match; Carl and Yana together would also have slim hopes.

"We don't need to stop them," Conni said. "Here, all we need to do is lead the shark-people to them at a critical moment. That will be enough to kill them."

Carl neither agreed nor disagreed.

"I know you, Elder Carl, have been collecting Great Divine Grace and items related to the Divine," Conni said, his eyes flickering. "I'm aware of a place with a lot of Great Divine Grace. I also know of some places in the Endless Sea Domain that are linked to the Divine. President Hawke is also involved in this matter. He too knows some undisclosed secrets of the Endless Sea Domain. If you are willing to help, Elder Carl, we can share all this information with you afterward."

"Oh!" Carl chuckled lightly. "Is that so?"

"Do you think I'm deceiving you, Elder Carl?" Conni asked, noticing the distrust in Carl's eyes. "You've forgotten. There's an island in the Endless Sea Domain where pirates gather, hidden away in a secluded location. There's a lot of Great Divine Grace there."

Carl's expression slowly turned serious.

Tortuga Island! The Pirate Island!

It was said that the treasures hidden on that island were enough to make even a Duke covetous.
