Chapter 483

After lunch, Director Han dropped her daughter off at school.

Dahai Wang sat on his motorcycle, grinning broadly at her.

Director Han frowned and drove away.

After sending her daughter into school, just as Director Han was about to get into her car, Dahai Wang suddenly ran over excitedly.

"Director Han, have some coffee."

Dahai Wang had somehow gotten coffee and handed it over.

"Thank you, I don't like coffee."

Director Han said coldly and turned to get into her car.

Dahai Wang scratched his head, gritted his teeth, and muttered to himself that if she wouldn't drink, he would.

He gulped down the coffee in a few swallows.

Seeing his action, Director Han almost wanted to laugh.

After she drove away, she glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that Dahai Wang was still following her.

Around three in the afternoon, Director Han, who was working in her office, suddenly received a phone call.

It was from her daughter's homeroom teacher.

Her daughter had skipped school!

When she received the call, Director Han was momentarily stunned.

Why would her daughter skip school?

Her daughter had always been obedient and well-behaved; she had never skipped school before.

She didn't have time to think further and immediately went downstairs.

Dahai Wang was squatting next to his motorcycle, playing with his phone when he looked up and saw Director Han rushing out toward her car.

From her expression, it seemed like there was some emergency.

Dahai Wang quickly followed her on his motorcycle.

Following her to the school, Dahai Wang became increasingly puzzled.

Could it be that something had happened to her daughter?

At the school gate, a middle-aged man wearing glasses was already waiting.

As soon as Director Han got out of her car, she ran up to him, "Teacher Liang, where is my daughter?"

Teacher Liang said, "I checked the surveillance at the gate; she skipped class during the second period in the afternoon."

He continued, accusingly, "Ms. Han, how do you normally communicate with your daughter? She is a high school student; how could she skip class?"

"I, I… I'm sorry, Teacher Liang, my daughter is very well-behaved, this matter…"

"Humph! Would a well-behaved child skip class?"

Dahai Wang, from a distance, overheard their conversation and was extremely shocked.

The first shock was that Director Han's daughter had actually skipped class.

The second shock was that this Teacher Liang dared to speak to the director of the education bureau in such a tone.

Even though he was Director Han's daughter's teacher, this attitude was not normal.

Teacher Liang said, "You should try to contact your daughter first, see if you can reach her, and if not, call the police."

"Yes, I'll call her now."

Director Han hurriedly called her daughter, but the call was disconnected as soon as it connected.

Director Han grew frantic, her eyes reddening.

Teacher Liang was still urging on the side, "Did she answer?"

"No, she's not answering her phone."

"You should call the police."

"I…"

She no longer had any opinion, this situation was too sudden for her.

She had no experience in handling such matters.

"What are you standing around for, call the police!" Teacher Liang urged.

Dahai Wang couldn't stand it anymore and stepped forward, "Why are you shouting?"

Teacher Liang was taken aback and frowned, "And you are?"

"None of your business!" Dahai Wang retorted, "The child went missing under your watch at your school, and now you're telling the parents to call the police, are the teachers here just freeloading?"

"You…"

"What are you talking about? Which class are you teaching? What's your surname and name?"

While making a call, Wang Dahai said, "Hello, is this the Education Bureau? This is Seventh Middle School in Lingcheng..."

"Hey, stop making that call."

Teacher Liang was startled, realizing that this man was about to report him.

Once this matter reached the Education Bureau, even if he weren't penalized, he would still face criticism.

Wang Dahai put down his phone and pointed at Director Han, whose eyes were red, and said, "Apologize to her."

Teacher Liang's lips twitched as he tried to suppress his anger and said, "Ms. Han, I was a bit too anxious just now and spoke harshly. Please don't take it to heart. But right now, your daughter is missing, and the priority is to find her."

"I know."

Director Han wiped the corner of her eyes and suddenly turned to Wang Dahai, "Apologize to Teacher Liang!"

Wang Dahai was stunned for a moment and then exploded in anger, "Apologize my ass! Damn, are you blind? Or deaf? It's his responsibility as a teacher, and you're asking me to apologize to him?"

Director Han was taken aback by his swearing.

However, it was Teacher Liang who tried to mediate the situation.

He could tell, this young man had a fiery temper.

With such people, one must not provoke them; he certainly didn't want to be reported and criticized.

"You, you're cursing at me!" Director Han's hands shook with anger.

Wang Dahai suppressed his anger and said, "I'm not going to argue with you now."

He grabbed the phone and asked, "What's your daughter's phone number?"

Director Han bit her lip, knowing this wasn't the time to be angry, and gave him the number.

Wang Dahai called the number, but it wasn't answered.

"I'm calling the police!" Director Han took out her phone and dialed the police.

Wang Dahai didn't stop her.

Skipping school was actually quite normal, the security these days was good, and since the girl had only been missing a short while, it likely wasn't a serious issue.

But it was strange that the little girl wasn't answering her phone.

Suddenly, he had an idea.

He opened WeChat, entered the number, found the girl's WeChat ID, and sent a friend request.

Then, he opened other social platforms.

He tried all the social media platforms he could think of but got no response for the time being.

After about fifteen minutes, a police car arrived.

Teacher Liang and Director Han went over and briefly explained the situation.

The officer nodded and said, "Alright, we've got it."

"Send me the child's photo, I'll ask around with local residents, and you survey the nearby shops to see if any security cameras caught anything."

"Okay, I'll go right now."

It seemed like Director Han suddenly knew what to do.

She rushed to the shops near the school, and wherever there were surveillance cameras installed, she asked the shop owner to check.

Wang Dahai followed her but felt this wasn't efficient.

How long would this search take?

Suddenly,

a friend request he had sent on one of the social platforms was accepted.

Wang Dahai's eyes lit up; he didn't rush to send a message but instead started looking through the girl's previous posts and updates.

As he scrolled quickly, his brows furrowed more and more.

From the posts, it seemed the girl might have some kind of father complex.

He thought of something and asked Director Han, who had just come out of a stationery shop, "Did you get divorced?"

Director Han stopped dead in her tracks, suddenly annoyed, "What has that got to do with you!"

Wang Dahai frowned; judging by her reaction, she probably was divorced.

No wonder the girl always posted strange updates.

Wang Dahai didn't respond to her; it was normal for her to be emotional as her child had suddenly skipped school.

He opened the girl's chat window and typed, "Hey little sister, how are you?"

A few minutes later, she replied, "?"

There might be a chance.
