Chapter 525

Wang Dahai recoiled as if electrocuted, immediately withdrawing his hand.

Wu Qiangwei heard the noise and looked up, visibly taken aback when she saw Wang Dahai.

"Aunt, you... what are you doing here?" Lin Wanqiu quickly approached, her tone somewhat unnatural.

Wang Dahai bowed slightly, trying to conceal his physical reaction.

"I'm here to see you about something," Wu Qiangwei said.

"Oh, I'll go take a shower first."

Lin Wanqiu hurried back to her room, grabbed her clothes, and entered the bathroom.

Wang Dahai watched her and suddenly felt a bit awkward, unsure whether he should leave or stay.

Wu Qiangwei didn't seem interested in talking to him and simply held her teacup, sipping occasionally.

"Sister-in-law, I'm going to head back," Wang Dahai called out toward the bathroom, deciding it was best to leave.

"Oh, take care on the road."

Lin Wanqiu's voice came from the bathroom.

"Director Wu, I'm heading back now."

"Did you find out about Liu Ming's situation?"

"Not yet."

"Get on it as soon as possible."

"Then I won't come to pick up Director Wu tomorrow, I'll go to the company early and wait for him."

"Mhm."

Having left Lin Wanqiu's home, Wang Dahai breathed a sigh of relief.

In front of strangers, he didn't care about exposing his relationship with Lin Wanqiu.

Even in front of Zhao Xue, he didn't care.

But faced with Wu Qiangwei...

He subconsciously wanted to hide his relationship with Lin Wanqiu.

Because he knew, once Wu Qiangwei found out about their relationship,

then he and Wu Qiangwei would become complete strangers.

When he returned to his rented apartment, it was already close to midnight.

The living room was dark and quiet; he tiptoed to the door and opened it without making a sound.

He closed the door, switched on the light in his room, and just as he was about to approach the bed, he suddenly froze.

There was someone on the bed.

He stood there, lost in a daze.

The faint smell of alcohol drifted into his nostrils.

He walked over, looking at the woman lying on the bed, clothing disheveled, not even covered by a blanket, and was slightly taken aback.

He thought it was Jiang Rou, but it wasn't.

Zhou Qian!

What was she doing in my room?

He sniffed.

There was a strong smell of alcohol on her.

Clearly, she'd had too much.

Had she entered the wrong room after getting drunk?

He instinctively wanted to leave, but hesitated halfway through turning around.

Who could he go to now?

Her boyfriend?

How would he explain this?

It was already midnight.

Was he supposed to tell him that as soon as he returned, he found his girlfriend lying on his bed?

Such an explanation was unlikely to be believed.

Go to Jiang Rou?

Forget it, going to her would be even more pointless.

Wang Dahai sat on the edge of the bed and nudged her shoulder, trying to wake her.

Zhou Qian was dead drunk, beyond rousing, her breathing deep, sleeping soundly.

He sighed, although he wanted to leave and be done with it.

But he also worried about being discovered later, which would implicate him just the same.

Amidst his annoyance, his attention kept falling on Zhou Qian.

This woman had a gentle and tender temperament, like a soothing book, radiating an infinite goodness, reminiscent of a first love.

Wang Dahai hadn't interacted much with her, but he had a strong impression.

Zhou Qian wore a home outfit, her cotton pajama top's buttons had come undone, revealing a few.

She hadn't worn a bra underneath, now lying on her side, her soft yet firm breasts pressed against each other, making Wang Dahai's mouth go dry.

Her sleep pants had been pulled up, revealing a stretch of her fair and delicate leg.

Though not much was exposed, it still sent Wang Dahai's blood racing.

He grabbed a blanket and covered her with it, then moved to a chair to lean back.

The next morning.

Sunlight streamed in through the window, casting a faint golden hue over the modest room.

Zhou Qian groggily opened her eyes and the first things she saw were the ceiling and a flush-mounted light.

The design of the light was unfamiliar; this was not her own room.

She slowly turned her head, taking in the fixtures of the room one by one.

Then, she saw Wang Dahai sitting on a chair by the bed, tilting his head.

Zhou Qian blinked in confusion and immediately sat up in bed.

This was Wang Dahai's room!

How did I end up here?

I... must have been drunk last night and walked into the wrong room.

She looked down at her body; she was neatly covered with a blanket.

This was not something she could do when she was drunk.

Did he cover me with the blanket?

She lifted the blanket and upon seeing her intact pajamas, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she moved her legs, feeling them out, and not detecting any discomfort, she completely relaxed.

She had discussed some private matters amongst women with Jiang Rou before.

She wasn't actually that interested in matters of male and female intimacy.

But among women, such topics were unavoidable.

Jiang Rou had mentioned that Wang Dahai was quite capable in that regard.

Although Zhou Qian didn't have a strong desire, she knew that if Wang Dahai had done anything to her last night as Jiang Rou described, she wouldn't be without any feeling.

But immediately after, she felt a bit of regret.

Not regret that Wang Dahai hadn't done anything to her, but regret that she hadn't allowed herself to go wild during her rare night of indulgence.

She chuckled at herself mockingly, buttoned up, stood up from the bed, and walked toward the door.

Wang Dahai was awakened by the sound of her opening the door, just in time to see her leaving the room.

He rubbed his eyes and followed her out.

Zhou Qian heard footsteps and turned back to lock eyes with him.

"You drank too much and went into the wrong room last night," Wang Dahai said.

He had expected this woman to be panicked and embarrassed.

But she wasn't.

She was very calm, very composed.

"Uh, thank you."

"…You're welcome."

The response had him puzzled.

She was too calm.

Or had she intentionally gone into the wrong room last night?

He couldn't quite understand what this woman was thinking.

Zhou Qian went back to her room to grab clean clothes and entered the bathroom.

Wang Dahai was outside, brushing his teeth and washing his face.

It was only about seven o'clock, still early.

He didn't have to pick up Wu Qiangwei today, and perhaps he wouldn't need to for the next few days.

He needed to quickly figure out Liu Ming's address, confirm his girlfriend's relationship with Hu Quan, and find that evidence.

"Wang Dahai."

From inside the bathroom, Zhou Qian suddenly called his name.

"Huh? What is it?"

Wang Dahai responded unclearly, his mouth still full of toothpaste.

"Come in a second."

"Huh?"

Wang Dahai thought he had heard wrong: "What?"

"Please come in a second."

He was certain, he hadn't misheard.

"You're taking a shower."

"So?"

"…" Wang Dahai was a bit thrown off, not understanding what this woman really meant.

During the silence, Zhou Qian spoke again: "No one is home."

"???"

Wang Dahai's heart raced, thoughts rushing in a tumult.

It wasn't that he was deliberately thinking in that direction, but Zhou Qian's words were too suggestive.

And he was certain that Zhou Qian seemed to be hinting at something of that nature with him.

No, this wasn't a hint; this was a direct invitation!

As he wavered in indecision, the bathroom door suddenly opened.

Her skin was like snow, and her curvaceous body stood boldly before his eyes.

Zhou Qian's short hair covered her face, giving her an especially youthful look.

Even with not a thread on, she exuded an innocence that made hearts pound.

"Come in," Zhou Qian said softly.
