The Seventh Calamity: I am the True Villain!

Chapter 43: Do Not Unlock

Do not unlock this one, the real chapter will soon be uploaded. Sorry for the inconvenience as I am currently rewriting some old chapters.

"It won't be wrong for me to say that 'Trials' were specifically made for the Players from Earth." Aesmeria's voice softly echoed as she began answering his question.

Momentarily, hearing her words, Kai blurted out, "Pardon?"—obstructing her flow and causing her to fall into a moment of complete silence.

Then, with a short sigh, she began once again, "It is just as I said. During different calamities, Most of the ever-expanding reality was destroyed and built from scratch. Over time, many inhabitable planets became habitable and vice versa."

"And each time, A new energy was released in the void, leading to the birth of 'Power-Systems'. And after each 'Purge', a small fragment of its records was passed onto the new world to help them accommodate with the energies."

"However, surprisingly, your planet, Earth, was the weakest amongst all as your race completely disregarded such records as mere bedtime stories."

Aesmeria then took a brief pause, giving Kai enough time to both digest the information and prepare himself for the final blow.

"Thus, by the orders of the #$@@#," Kai reluctantly widened his eyes as he noticed the sudden interruption in her voice as she continued to speak normally thereafter.

"We were to test your race to their very limits and filter out Potentials while giving everyone an equal chance towards their physical growth—or in simpler words, Stats."

"That is all I have to give you as an answer."

With that said, she concluded her answer, leaving Kai's mind slightly shocked.

What Aesmeria, as the Goddess of Soul, had said was nothing less than the most credible information in the world.

Although such an answer had only stirred more questions in his mind.

He wanted to ask more, however, the System seemed to have different plans as a screen instantly materialized in front of their eyes—leaving Kai's mouth agape.

---

[According to Player Kai Evernox's request, the primary compensation has been taken care of.]

[Now, the Goddess of Soul, Aesmeria, must provide Player Kai Evernox with suitable items.]

---

Looking at the screen, Kai frowned. He knew that scraping for more information had become useless now.

Neither the Goddess was trustworthy enough, nor was the System.

'Earlier, she answered only because of the System; however, now, there's no guarantee that she'll speak the truth.' He thought as his eyes seemed to be glaring at the sphere through the shade of the System's screen.

"Rather than 2 random, how about I give you just one 'Unique' grade item?"

Hearing this, without an ounce of hesitation, Kai replied in an instant.

"Yes!"

Unique grade.

It was a grade given to items and skills that held the titles of "one of a kind".

In terms of rarity, they fell, by no means, any shorter than the Legendary grade.

However, since they possessed lesser power and at the same time lesser restrictions over the user, they held the second-best rank to the Legendary.

Kai had already gotten his hands on a Unique passive skill, and to think he was now being offered a unique grade item, he'd be a fool to refuse such an offer.

Next moment, a bright light emitted from the sphere and rays of light extended towards Kai, slowly converging into a single point before shaping into a long thread.

In the middle of it, there hung a small cerulean jewel—the size of a fingernail—in the shape of a water droplet.

It was a necklace that floated right before him, slowly descending on the table.

Before it could touch the table, Kai swiftly snatched the necklace mid-air and looked at it with narrowed eyes.

'Looks just like any normal necklace, that's a good thing.' A smile slowly crawled onto his face.

Even with no information about the necklace's use, Kai was impressed just by its appearance.

'No matter what use it may have, as long as it's a unique grade item, it's useful. And, since it has a humble appearance, people won't go after my head just to get their hands on it.'

The system was yet to show its description, but it was already in Kai's hand, thus, for some reason, it decided to switch topics quickly, as if trying to hide something.

---

[With that done, the System will now provide the standard compensation to the Player Kai Evernox.]

[Congratulations! You have cleared the Seventh Trial — Trial of the soul.]

[Since you are the first to complete the Seventh trial, Special rewards will be provided.]

[Since you are the first to complete All Trials, Special Rewards will be provided.]

[Player Kai Evernox will now be teleported back to Planet E13, Earth, and wait till further notice.]

[Appropriate rewards and descriptions will be provided shortly.]

---

"Huh? Wait, hang the fuck on!" Kai's body began to shimmer in a white glow as a mysterious, yet quite familiar energy began to enwrap his body.

Unlike before, the System did not take any time to make the process look any premium; rather, within the blink of an eye, Kai was teleported back to the earth, leaving behind an empty chair, where he had sat mere seconds ago.

Next second, the system window—previously crimson, gradually changed its hue within seconds.

Now, bearing the pitch black hue to the screen, where words were engraved in prismatic white, New text appeared.

---

[You've crossed the line, Aesmeria.]

[I do not remember giving you the permission to check his soul.]

---

Its speech and attitude had suddenly changed completely as soon as Kai was abruptly kicked out of the realm, while Aesmeria had fallen completely silent.

It was almost as if the System wasn't the one speaking right now, but someone who held absolute authority over the one who held the title of a Goddess.

"Why are you so wary of that weak kid? I checked his soul, and there was nothing abnormal. He's just a mere ant—" as she spoke ill about Kai, trying to demean his presence and comparing his existence to an ant, a new system window emerged in front of the sphere, cutting her words.

---

[It is not that there was nothing for you to see in his soul, but that his soul didn't want to show you its secrets.]

[Aesmeria, Celebrate this day as your new birth, because you've been granted a new life by 'him'.]

[Be happy that the one sleeping inside didn't take someone as weak as you seriously.]

[Otherwise, if 'he' were to awaken in that "mere ant's" body, I fear that even I may not be able to overpower that ant as of now.]

---

Since you are the first to complete All Trials, Special Rewards will be provided.]
