Chapter 654: 278 Emperor Star Imperial Guard Badge_2

"The final and most fitting subject of the experiment," Professor Kigrov's daughter, the Valkyrie, was cultivated by the Faya people right from the embryo stage.

The Emperor's eyes sparkled with two bright lights, and he asked in a low voice, "Kigrov altered his daughter? Oh, this is simply... Things are getting a bit exciting."

"This is a tragedy," Yang Ming sighed, "which is why the Valkyrie harbors hatred for the Empire... But Your Majesty, please rest assured, as long as I am here for one more day, the Valkyrie will not become a problem for the Empire. I am fully confident that I can defeat her again."

"I believe you," said the Emperor, patting Yang Ming's arm before abruptly changing the subject as if it were an afterthought, "Have you had direct communication with the Faya people?"

"Yes."

The Emperor seemed to find a new point of interest, "Face to face, just like our current exchange?"

Yang Ming hummed thoughtfully for a moment before beginning to detail his contact with the Faya Civilization, exaggerating a battle with the Valkyrie before their communication.

The Emperor listened intently, occasionally interrupting Yang Ming to ask a question about the form of Faya civilization.

To all of these, Yang Ming answered truthfully, without any concealment.

The princes and elders below would look up at the dimly lit platform every few minutes.

Has His Majesty the Emperor... changed his tastes?

"Faya."

The Emperor sighed softly, reclining on the sofa with a distant look in his eyes.

"I would have never imagined that officially, the Empire's communication with the Faya people could only be done through small pieces of paper, and yet you have already made direct contact with them."

Yang Ming gave a wry smile and replied, "Your Majesty, such contact is not a good thing for me... I am a weapon, a weapon of the Faya people. They will force me step by step to devour the Insect Race, eventually losing my own self and becoming a true killing machine."

"Hanton, I can only express my sympathy to you," the Emperor almost laughed out loud.

Yang Ming: ...

"Your Majesty, do you still need my blood?"

"If you are a masterpiece by Faya Civilization, they would not allow the Emperor of the Empire to complete the experiments. I would surely kill myself trying. I might as well consume more nourishment."

The Emperor indifferently said, "However, you will need to go outside the Great Hall later and leave a sample of blood. I will seal it in the name of the royal family in the Elder Court.

"This will be your proof of loyalty to the Empire."

Yang Ming said gravely, "Your Majesty... if this genetic sample leaks, it may incur the Faya people's dissatisfaction."

The Emperor laughed, "If it weren't for the help of the Faya people, the fusion experiment with Ancient Gods' genes couldn't even be completed, not to mention storing your blood. What are you worried about then?"

"You're right, I will leave my blood as a backup after I go out," laughed Yang Ming, "I was overthinking it. The Faya people have given me a great sense of anxiety."

"They have given me some anxiety as well," the Emperor said indifferently, "the little notes for communication with the Faya people have been considered one of the three great taboos by successive Emperors of the Empire. They are a means that could turn the situation around when necessary, but best not used without need."

Yang Ming thought hard.

Really now, Sherman Empire was so desperate to upgrade their civilization level, and there was shadow of Faya people behind it?

The three great taboos? What are the other two?

"That's enough for today," the Emperor sighed with lacking interest, "I am relieved that you could speak so openly to this poor old man. I sense a rare kind of respect from you.

"You could have easily used the Faya civilization to make me back down, but you didn't.

"If you had still refused to leave a blood sample just now, I would have had them throw you into those nourishment tanks tomorrow... Can you handle that Kigrov's daughter, my Knight?"

Yang Ming reminded, "Kigrov, Your Majesty."

"Can you handle the daughter of Kigrov, right? My Knight."

"I am one hundred percent sure!"

Yang Ming said with conviction.

The Emperor revealed a charming smile, then reached under the pillow next to him and pulled out a somewhat dim metal badge, tossing it into Yang Ming's hand.

"You are mine from now on. The Elder Court will arrange various benefits for you, and subsequent rewards will be given to you... You have to be careful, in the noble circles, there are many mad women who won't spit out the bones of their prey. They have long been salivating over the White Ghost, ha-ha-ha!"

Yang Ming took the metal badge, immediately stood up, and saluted.

The Emperor waved his hand, and Yang Ming tactfully retreated, pushing the sofa he had sat on to the back as he stepped down the stairs, before turning to walk back to his seat.

Elder Pison immediately came up with a smile in his eyes, slouching shoulders, leaning over with a glass and gently clinking it against Yang Ming's glass.

"Please take care of me in the future."

The elder said so.

...

After finishing the conversation with the Old Emperor, the banquet soon came to an end.

The Elder Court and the Military Department received the Emperor's orders. The dozen or so elders, generals, and ministers who had made appearances earlier, along with another dozen people in lab coats, composed the research team, gathered again in a meeting room. Elder Pison led Yang Ming to the room, then voluntarily shut the door and waited outside.

Yang Ming touched the new badge pinned to his chest and many of the elders showed smiles to varying degrees.

"Hanton, please come this way," an elder bustled energetically, "relax, this is just a storage of your blood sample. We won't undertake any research or study."

"Yes!"

Yang Ming saluted and walked over to the simple equipment with an easy face, rolling up his sleeve and extending his arm.
