Chapter 330: Wind Alliance! (2)

"Please do not always bring up the Sherman Empire. Indeed, it is the most powerful empire in the Milky Way, but you are not the spokesperson of the Sherman Empire."

Yang Ming stated leisurely:

"Before you receive the decree from the great Emperor of Sherman, you cannot represent the Sherman Empire. Let me think...

"It appears you are merely an image ambassador hired by the Foreign Affairs Bureau, representing the image of the Sherman Royal Family and expressing the attention to the vassal state of the Sherman Empire."

"I can responsibly tell you that your attention to Wind has been felt by us, but now, please do not interfere in the normal political activities of Wind."

"Your Excellency Yang Ming!"

Lady Mag stated firmly: "You are now facing Her Highness, the Princess of the Sherman Empire!"

"Major General Yang Ming!"

Edwan frowned and said: "Do not be disrespectful to Princess Luna! You are being too arrogant!"

Yang Ming immediately stood up, snapped to attention and saluted: "Yes! Your Highness!"

"Apologies, Princess Luna."

Yang Ming smiled and said:

"I was merely pointing out some logical errors to you, without intending to embarrass you, and certainly not to show any disrespect to the Sherman Empire."

"If you feel awkward, it might just indicate one thing: you may be a little bit at fault."

"I have finished speaking."

Edwan gently said: "Luna, don't mind Yang Ming's words. He is young and impetuous, and a bit too blunt."

Princess Luna's gaze showed a hint of resentment.

Edwan smiled as if no one else was present and said:

"Luna, our alliance this time is legitimate and justified. All the procedures and declarations have been completed. If you wish to come and witness, we will receive you with the highest diplomatic courtesy. I will have Yang Ming apologize to you personally."

"I have already sent someone to deliver the content of the alliance to your fleet. You can look it over carefully."

"This alliance will not pose any harm to the Sherman Empire. On the contrary, it will increase the size of our camp and enhance our interstellar influence."

"You should understand me. Although the New Federation has restrained itself a lot, we at Wind are still a thorn in their side and must improve our ability to protect ourselves. I want to provide our people with a greater sense of security."

"Very well," Princess Luna said, "We will arrive at the venue shortly."

Edwan smiled and said: "I will start my speech once you arrive."

Princess Luna slightly nodded, and the holographic projection was immediately cut off.

"Come," Edwan picked up a pen beside him, and warmly said, "Everyone, you may sign now."

The three heads of state nearby nodded with a smile, and lowered their heads to sign their names, exercising their power as heads of state.

Soon, the four leaders held up the treaty and displayed it in all directions.

Thunderous applause sounded around.

Yang Ming took a seat with the crowd. Before he could resume his standard posture of leaning with legs crossed, a thumbs-up appeared beside him.

"Well done, Major General Yang Ming."

Yang Ming squinted and smiled, lightly raising an eyebrow at the brother beside him, without saying much.

The program of the conference was slightly adjusted, with the heads of the three smaller countries giving speeches in succession, interspersed with documentaries and promotional films.

About two hours later, the Sherman mission arrived on site. Edwan got up to greet them and offered warm applause.

Princess Luna's seat was arranged next to Princess Emilia, while Lady Mag and the Foreign Affairs Bureau staff were all arranged in the first or second conspicuous rows.

Wind used this way to express their regard for the Sherman Empire.

The Sherman mission seemed to feel this respect as well.

The final process of the conference was Edwan's speech.

He naturally ascended the central platform, holding a paper script, looking around amid applause while folding his hands behind, continually smiling.

"I am very happy, very happy that all of you can sit here today."

Edwan cleared his throat and looked down at the speech in his hand, pondering a few times:

"Sorry, I feel that the script I prepared... is absolutely terrible, filled with official language and diplomatic rhetoric. If you wish to see it, I will release it later as a news release."

"Let me say a few words, things I originally did not intend to speak of."

He tossed the paper aside, rested both hands on the lectern, in front of a sea of starlight, seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces from the stage.

He chuckled and began slowly:

"The country of Wind was established by a duke of the Sherman Empire, marking a very distant history."

"Today, Wind is actually one of the older regimes left in the Galaxy."

"When I was very young, I knew that Wind was a country without full sovereignty. We are highly dependent on the Milky Way's most powerful Sherman Empire for military and diplomatic support. This is both a blessing and a restriction."

"When the New Federation used various methods to try to overthrow us, to turn us into their colony, their dumping ground for inferior goods, their printing press for looting quality resources, turning our people into slaves bound by the chains of money and foreign culture!

"It was then I understood why my father distanced himself from me, and why he would physically reprimand me."

"My immature ideas would only drag Wind into an endless abyss."

"The conflict with my father lasted for over a decade, during which I met my close friend, Major General Yang Ming."
