The Peerless Beauty Stuck With Me

Chapter 538: Men Never Grow Up

Actually, Yan Wei also leans towards having a grand wedding.

After all, if nothing unexpected happens, you only get married once in your life.

He himself doesn't really care about these things, but women, ultimately, tend to care about them more.

"Take good care of Li Li in the future, she's a good girl," Tang Rao sighed.

"Do you need me to comfort you?" Yan Wei looked at Tang Rao, who clearly wouldn't be able to get over Yun Xi so quickly. Maybe, he would never let go in his entire life.

"Sure, comfort me then, I'm listening," Tang Rao said earnestly, sitting up straight.

"Damn, you actually agreed."

"Nonsense, you are so sincere, of course, I'd agree."

"No way!" Yan Wei waved his hand.

"No way? Then why the hell did you say anything, just to tease me?" Tang Rao shouted.

Tang Rao and Yan Wei were bickering on and on, but of course, it was just bickering; they wouldn't really fall out over it.

"Could you two stop yapping? It's so annoying. Every time I see you guys, it's the same thing; aren't you guys childish?" Fang Jinxiu rolled her eyes at the door of the control room, a look of helplessness on her face.

"Didn't you hear? Men never grow up," Tang Rao said.

"Really? Then you don't grow up, don't grow up..." Fang Jinxiu replied.

"You want to see?"

"Come on, whose room?"

"Not good to do it here, let's get ~ a room!"

"Too much trouble, just strip here, I'll judge now."

"As if!"

Tang Rao started clashing with Fang Jinxiu again, each line cruder than the last.

Yan Wei looked at Tang Rao and then at Fang Jinxiu, a strange expression on his face.

"Skinny, don't just watch, help me deal with this pervy woman! I don't believe I can't out talk her!" Tang Rao yelled at Yan Wei.

Yan Wei immediately waved his hands: "This is between you two, you handle it, I'm just watching, not getting involved."

With that said by Yan Wei, Tang Rao and Fang Jinxiu lost interest in sniping at each other.

"Spit it out, what are you doing looking for this boss?" Tang Rao sat down again and asked Fang Jinxiu.

"Tired of researching, can't I come out for a walk? I was even planning to go to Blue Star, hit up some bars, check out some handsome guys, and if I find someone I like, just take him home for a wild night!" Fang Jinxiu declared.

"Why not just find me?" Tang Rao said with a hint.

"Too ugly, not interested."

"..."

After chatting nonsense for a while, they both settled down.

"By the way, boss, seriously, I really want to go back to Blue Star. Can you come with me?" Fang Jinxiu asked.

"Why? I'm so ugly, I might embarrass you," Tang Rao said.

"Are you coming or not? Stop yapping all day."

"Sure, why are you yelling!"

"I just have a loud voice, can you control it!"

"I don't want to control it; it's good to have a loud voice, makes things exciting!"

"I wouldn't even call out for a pig, let alone for you!"

Tang Rao and Fang Jinxiu were arguing as they left.

It was only a few minutes later that Yan Wei finally couldn't hear their voices anymore.

"Tang Rao, you, maybe you don't understand what love is," Yan Wei suddenly smiled, thinking to himself that he now was more optimistic about Tang Rao and Fang Jinxiu being together.

Thinking about it now, Yun Xi really isn't quite suitable for Tang Rao.

Yun Xi is too principled, too keen on the truth. Whereas Tang Rao is a very free-spirited person.

It seems like Fang Jinxiu is quite a match for Tang Rao, they are birds of a feather.

...

Tang Rao has no idea what Fang Jinxiu is doing back in Blue Star; it's definitely not for pub crawling, given they passed several bar streets and she showed no interest whatsoever.

"Hey, honestly, what are you back here for?" Tang Rao asked, turning his head while driving.

"Turn right up ahead. Are you annoying or what? Just follow me and adapt as necessary," Fang Jinxiu seemed emotionally unstable, very irritable.

"Holy shit, you're not taking me to meet your parents, are you?" Tang Rao asked.

"Can you shut up?"

"Okay."

Ten minutes later, Tang Rao drove into a community that seemed quite old—it must be the old town area, the houses looked dilapidated.

The roads were also tough to drive on; anyhow, Tang Rao had to start and stop multiple times before they got through, the roads were too narrow.

"This is my place; I'm just grabbing a notebook and then we'll leave," Fang Jinxiu said before heading upstairs.

Tang Rao immediately followed her.

Fang Jinxiu wouldn't have asked him to accompany her just to leave him downstairs.

Fang Jinxiu's home was on the third floor; she took out her keys from her bag and opened the door.

The house was permeated with a strange smell, seemingly from rotten food mixed with lingering alcohol odor.

"Stand at the door, I'll get the notebook," Fang Jinxiu hurried into the innermost room, her own room.

In less than ten seconds, Fang Jinxiu came out carrying a bunch of notebooks haphazardly.

"Open the door, let's go!" Fang Jinxiu whispered to Tang Rao.

Tang Rao was confused, not understanding what Fang Jinxiu was doing. Isn't this your own house? Why act like a thief?

"Who's there!" Just then, a man's voice came from inside the house.

Fang Jinxiu looked helpless, and Tang Rao saw her mouth cursing: Fuck.

"It's me, came back to grab something, I'm leaving now," Fang Jinxiu yelled, then signaled Tang Rao to open the door.

But before Tang Rao could react, the room's door opened.

It was a scruffy-bearded man, around his fifties, quite thin.

"Jinxiu, why didn't you tell dad when you came back? I... can tidy up the place."

"I just came to get a book. I have something else to do. I'm leaving," Fang Jinxiu replied.

"Who is this young man?" From the room, a middle-aged woman emerged, draped in a coat, her face covered with cheap makeup.

"Right, right, right. Young man, are you Jinxiu's boyfriend?" Fang Jinxiu's father also looked at Tang Rao.

"I..."

"He's my boss, I'm working for him," Fang Jinxiu interjected.

"Hello, Lao San." Tang Rao smiled a greeting.

"Ah, so he's Jinxiu's boss, then he's a guest. Lao Fang, go boil some water, let's make some tea to welcome him," the middle-aged woman immediately said.

"No need," Fang Jinxiu interjected.

"We should, we should," the middle-aged woman responded cheerfully.

Fang Jinxiu looked angrily at the middle-aged woman, her gaze filled with hostility.

Tang Rao blinked; he thought he got it.

This middle-aged woman, probably not Jinxiu's mom, must be someone her dad found later, like a step-mother.

"Well then, let's sit for a while," Tang Rao said to Fang Jinxiu.

"Tang..."

"I'm actually quite thirsty now, let's have some tea," Tang Rao interrupted Fang Jinxiu.

Fang Jinxiu glanced at Tang Rao and eventually agreed.
