Mage Legend

Chapter 581: Travel and Travel Beyond Chapter Sixty-Four Passage_3

Although the mage made every effort to select some hidden places and used the power of the Eye of Insight to avoid those patrolling strongmen, the Abyss Demon and several other devils possessed the ability of infinite teleportation. When not fighting, they would retract their wings and use Instantaneous Movement to span distances and reach any place within their sight. The mage could spot the devils' figures but could not foresee their next moves.

Lynch brought the Desire Demon close to a tall stone hall. At least here stood many creatures of various races. Strange-looking folks gathered here, whispering to each other. Lynch could only understand part of the languages, leading him to judge this to be a marketplace where devils generally wouldn't cause trouble. As for what kinds of transactions were conducted, the mage had yet to figure out.

A female Tifflin slowly walked over, her greenish skin clearly inherited from the bloodline of the Bator Devil. Tifflin referred to those creatures with devil or demon descent, all hybrid beings. The puzzling thing was that devils only passed on their strong bodies and innate spellcasting abilities to these descendants, fortunately not transmitting their ugly appearances. Though Tifflin looked somewhat strange—with pointed horns, wagging tails, or small wings—they were still considered quite beautiful.

"Oh, mage, you look lonely," the Tifflin deliberately ignored the Desire Demon behind Lynch, and Eryies also didn't object. The half-demon continued, "Do you want to find some fun here? After all, Desire Demons are dangerous creatures, beautiful but dangerous. Now I have a suggestion, since my father was a Desire Demon, you can safely enjoy all that you're entitled to!"

Lynch frowned. Instinctively, from the Tifflin's words, he thought of a somewhat unsavory profession. Besides this girl in front, it seemed quite a few people had turned their eyes towards him—or perhaps towards other "customers." A few women of unknown races beckoned to Lynch with a finger, their actions displaying professional quality at every turn.

A sign hung at the top of the stone hall, written in Abyss Language, reading "Warm Desire Brothel." Lynch took a step back but still politely said, "Sorry, miss, I must decline your offer. I stumbled in by mistake; receiving services is not my aim. I'm afraid..."

"Afraid of what? Human male, what are you worried about?" The Tifflin leaned forward, smiling, "Maybe you'll die on the battlefield of the blood war tomorrow, turning into a pile of fertilizer or something else, and now you're worrying about some trivial matters? Come on, I'd be happy to make you happy too, all you need to do is quietly enjoy."

"I think she makes a point, dear," the Desire Demon leaned in, standing by Lynch's side. When the mage glared at her, Eryies then turned to the Tifflin and said, "However, I think you've overrated your charm, little hybrid. You should try to purify your bloodline; perhaps by then my master would give you a second glance. Now, lift your plump butt and vanish from my sight immediately!"

Although Desire Demons did not have specific rankings in the blood war, they often were tasked with enticing powerful souls to the Bator Hell. Yet, in front of Tifflin, Desire Demons indeed held absolute commanding authority. The Tifflin merely pouted discontentedly, her eyes intimating that the mage had made a wrong choice, then turned around, twisting her waist as she left.

"Thank you for giving me some peace and quiet. At least it's much safer here than outside," Lynch exhaled gently and said to Eryies, "I'm curious, do Desire Demons have males? Why have I never seen one?"

"I can change into any appearance you desire, just say the word," Eryies blinked her eyes, "Of course, I can also change into a male—whenever you need that."

"No need for a demonstration, Eryies, I don't have such preferences," Lynch shook his head, continually rubbing the Undead Magic Bead in his hand, the wisps of cold air from the trapped souls within calming his emotions. He asked, "I'm curious about one thing, that Piffed, does he really demand all sorts of nonsense every time?"
