"Remember my words, no matter what you see, it's all in the past. Nothing can hurt you anymore." Lynch's voice was like a whisper, gently drifting into Eryies's heart. "As long as I'm here," the mage added.
Lynch walked up to the Desire Demon, the sound of his red robe softly brushing against his ankles. Eryies was too terrified to move. When the mage's spell rang out, her mind went blank, unable to see anything except a pair of colorless, deep eyes. Lynch slowly raised his hand, gently lifting it from the Desire Demon's forehead, where his fingertips had left traces of magic.
The sealed memories flooded into Eryies's mind like a tide, nearly knocking her unconscious with the dizzying images. But after just a moment, she realized what Lynch had hidden. Those terrible torments, those lonely and cold memories she wished never to recall.
The Desire Demon collapsed entirely, falling powerless to the ground. If not for Lynch's hands supporting her, Eryies would have been lying on the cold floor. She trembled all over, her eyes wavering as if unable to find focus. She wrapped her wings tightly around her body, yet she still felt no warmth.
Except for the heat from Lynch's arm.
Moments later, Eryies lay on Lynch's arm, crying bitterly, tears slipping from her cheeks like raindrops, falling along the mage's robe sleeve to the ground. She felt pain, an overwhelming sensation threatening to break her, and the only thing keeping her from slipping back into unconsciousness was the mage's gentle voice of comfort.
"It's all over, those were just terrible nightmares," Lynch said, while looking at Zilvra. The female Drow, although unsure of what could have turned the Desire Demon into such a state, realized from the current situation that it must be something unimaginable.
"I don't want to leave, don't make me go." Eryies sobbed, struggling to get the words out. Her fingers clutched tightly to Lynch's arm, showing no intention of letting go.
Lynch didn't speak; he was waiting for the other person present to speak. Zilvra looked at Eryies and finally said, "You can continue to stay here, but I will be watching you at all times."
The Desire Demon seemed not to hear the Dark Elf's words; she continued to gaze at Lynch intently, holding her breath. Only when the mage nodded did she loosen her body completely, fainting into Lynch's arms.
"I'll take her to the room," Zilvra said, Eryies's final display dispelling the Dark Elf's doubts. She believed this was not a trick by the Desire Demon. Zilvra sighed and said, "I can't believe I'm doing this. Did you cast some kind of charming spell on me?"
"Absolutely not," Lynch replied, handing Eryies over to Zilvra, and then said, "I believe there's more than just Drow blood in you."
"Say what you will, human," Zilvra threw back as she walked away with Eryies, "Either way, I'll keep my eyes on you, and this female devil, at all times."
Once Zilvra took Eryies away, Lynch breathed a sigh of relief, tucking the "Suggestion" scroll deeper into his sleeve. He murmured to himself, "I'm sorry, Eryies. This is the only way to keep you safe here."
