Within the digital network world of the Mechanical Tree, the battle between the Android sisters continued. With Zero One and Zero Two constantly trying to break through Zero Three B, they were slowly beginning to grow weaker as her attacks and powerful abilities began to overwhelm them both.

Her power over the entire Digital Realm of the Mechanical Tree was absolute; it wasn't an overstatement to say she was literally a goddess within this realm, and she could manipulate all data within her surroundings, giving her endless regeneration and manipulation abilities.

"Stop resisting. I've been growing weary with your interferences and annoying persistence," Zero Three B spoke.

Gigantic hands descended from the cybernetic skies, hitting the ground and spreading Corrupted Data, aiming to destroy the Data Souls of Zero Two and Zero Three.

"Jump!"

Zero One jumped into the skies by modifying her legs' data, and Zero Three used her flying swords to fly up, evading the shockwaves constantly spreading in the ground.

The two sisters glanced at the cybernetic sky; there were two yellow eyes glancing at them down, with indifference.

"For how long will you continue to struggle pointlessly? It's no use. There's no sense in your actions. Despite knowing full well you can't win, you keep trying. It's impossible for you to reach the door. I am here, and I am invincible."

"And that's where you're wrong, sis!"

Zero One smiled confidently, glancing at the eyes within the sky.

"We might be androids, we might be robots, and we might be machines like you… Yeah," nodded Zero One. "But that doesn't mean we can't keep trying, even when what we calculate can go against such actions. Humans keep trying, people will always continue striving forwards, no matter how grim the world can become, and no matter how hopeless things can be! And so… Because we were made in their image, we shall, as well, continue striving and struggling until the very, bitter end!"

RUMBLE!

Suddenly, as Zero One spoke, her words reached her sister; a wave of golden data struck her from the skies, and the skies cracked apart and shattered, making her fall down.

"W-Wha…?! Impossible! How did you…?!"

Zero Three B had never calculated this outcome. The reason was simple: she had never taken into consideration the progress of Zero One's "soul" and its evolution.

A soul in a machine, a being made of metal, was something impossible.

That was a fact.

However, that didn't mean that she couldn't gain one.

Just like a weapon can become cursed as it slays countless demons and monsters, gaining a monstrous soul, so can a machine, with no soul, gain one through endless efforts.

By interacting with the supernatural, by absorbing the essence of this world.

Her comprehension of the human heart…

It reached Enlightenment.

FLAAASH!

Her Digital Avatar overflowed with Golden Data, a manifestation of a supernatural power tied to the very core of her frame and her synapsis.

"Sister…"

Zero Two glanced at Zero One in disbelief as she further evolved.

By learning, by working hard, and by interacting with so many different people…

Zero One slowly evolved from a shy machine into someone with an undying will.

Her progress towards what her Mother had envisioned was reaching its last stage.

With a Heart, the only thing left was a Soul.

And so, by attaining Enlightenment and understanding the intentions of the Human Heart…

She gained a Soul!

"I understand now… I finally understand the struggle everyone has been going through!" Zero One roared, her Golden Data spreading through her body, transforming her appearance into a divine one. "As machines, we are born without struggles. We don't feel hunger, we don't age, we don't feel pain… But by taking away these things, by making me weaker by imitating them, I can finally put myself in their shoes… And I can finally feel like I am also a human too. I am not a machine anymore; I am… I am a person!"

"N-No…! What nonsense are you talking about?! Machines are beyond humans; we are beyond all these organic beings. Your words make simply no sense! You've become a failure of a machine; you're going against everything that embodies our existence! I must stop you."

Zero Three B quickly stood back up again, summoning her dual katanas of Corrupted Data, and rushed towards Zero One.

The two clashed against one another as Zero One revealed her golden appearance, looking even more mature than before, made of pure golden light, like a goddess of sunlight.

Golden Data materialized in her hands, imitating the concept of the Heart of Hope.

The Hopes of all machines that allied her, the Hope of a future where they can finally enjoy peace and know more about each other.

To become more humane, to learn to appreciate the world, and the beauty of life itself.

To be more than just walking pieces of cold steel!

"{Digital Heart of Hope}: {Enlightened Data Flames of Liberation}"

"RAAAAHHH!"

Zero Three B grew desperate, roaring as she swung her katanas down the moment the spiraling golden flames made of data of Zero One rushed against her.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions echoed everywhere as she swung her katana, rapidly deleting the flames as they came towards her! However, Zero One continued shaping the flames, concentrating them in her hands.

"Anna… and her master, they both made this energy into weapons as well, didn't they?"

As she thought that, the Enlightened Data Flames of Liberation gathered, merging into two swords of their own.

"This…!"

She rushed forward, swinging the swords against her sister, her katanas clashing against her weapons, as both of them exchanged several rapid blows in a row.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

"Your swords…! Why aren't they being deleted?!"

Zero Three B couldn't believe it; her katanas were unable to delete the Data of Zero One's swords! And the reason was quite simple.

"They aren't any type of Data!" smiled Zero One. "They're Data composed of my very Soul! Further strengthened after I concentrated them to this point…! They won't break so easily anymore!"

"Ugh! I don't care. I seriously don't care whatever nonsense you're pulling out, sister," said Zero Three B. "I will eliminate you, and you simply can't… defeat me!"

She roared furiously, the ground around Zero One distorted as dozens of massive hands surged, wrapping around her body and then rapidly beginning to push her down.

"I'll bury you in the weight of this Mechanical Tree's entire Data!" roared Zero Three B. "You will never be able to wake up from this!"

Zero One was completely buried underground, the data consuming her Avatar rapidly, as Zero Three B noticed Zero Two sneaking into the gate, hitting it with her swords, rapidly beginning to, rather roughly, spread Zero One's "vaccine" that will delete all forced actions into the Mechanical Tree, and give it the free will to do and think whatever it wants.

"You! STOP!"

Zero Three B rushed towards Zero Two, who panicked, firing her swords at her, only for them to be deleted instantly upon contact with Zero Three B's Katanas.

"Stay still, and it will end swiftly."

"No!"

Zero Two screamed loudly, hitting the ground with her swords and tearing a piece of the Data Ground itself, raising it as a shield to protect herself from the attacks and then kicking it!

"Eat this!"

BAAAM!

The wall of Data Ground hit Zero Three B's, pushing her away a couple of seconds, but the furious younger sister swung her katanas, cutting through everything!

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

"Don't think something like that can stop me! You'll become buried underground as well!"

The same thing happened to Zero Two, as she saw in horror as giant hands made of blue data pushed her underground, burying her within the weight of the Mechanical Tree's entire Data Banks.

"Hahh… Why am I so tired? Ugh…"

Zero Three B groaned in exhaustion, glancing at the gate; there were dozens of Zero Two's swords slowly infecting the Mechanical Tree with this vaccine.

She swiftly took them all out, interrupting the upload halfway through and canceling it!

"I almost didn't make it…!" She sighed in relief. "Now that this is over, my twin sister must eliminate the organic lifeforms, and then we can finally—"

RUMBLE!

"Ah?!"

Her eyes widened, as she felt the entire Digital Realm trembling constantly.

FLUOSH!

Countless golden circuits spread everywhere, completely overtaking the previous Data with new, rewritten Data.

"But that's…! This isn't possible; she was…!"

Zero Three B zealously protected the gate leading to the Core Mainframe of her Mother's Internal Data, summoning her Katanas again, and dozens of arms made of Data.

However…

Crack, crack…!

CRAAASH!

A huge crack in the ground spread out, opening a hole where two figures emerged.

"You again!"

Zero One, carrying Zero Two on her back, appeared; her body, made of golden light, had not changed a single inch since she was buried underground.

"The weight of the Mechanical Tree's Data should have completely made her very being collapse… This is nonsensical! I cannot… calculate such an outcome! This shouldn't have happened! There was a 100% chance of success! How come you've come back?!"

"I already told you, sister," said Zero One, her eyes growing serious, yet they also held some of Anna's attitude, which Zero One absorbed like a sponge through their many interactions. "When it comes to the Soul, no machine can calculate what it will ever do. Humans are unpredictable; people are unpredictable. No matter how much you try to calculate something, it might never come true! This is the power of the Human Heart, and their Soul!"

"No! I reject your stupid logic!" Zero Three B angrily said. "BEGONE!"

She summoned hundreds of Katanas capable of destroying Data, firing them at Zero One at the same time! Zero One spread her Flames, continuously creating giant shields of golden light.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

As she approached, more of these shields were erected, taking on the projectiles that destroyed or corrupted data, as Zero Three B's Data Arms and Zero One's Flames clashed.

"I-I can't…! Stop it?!"

The power of her Data was growing weaker rapidly, as Zero Three B realized that her predicament was far from over.

The golden circuits continued spreading through the entirety of the Digital World, eventually sneaking from behind her and reaching the door she was protecting so much!

"NO!"

She pierced the floor with her katanas, stopping the golden circuits from spreading further, but that didn't work either, as she was rapidly beginning to become overwhelmed.

Why?

Her powers were simply growing too weak now!

"This can't be happening…! I won't…! I won't accept this!"

With all her rage, she continued firing her projectiles, only for Zero One to block them over and over again…

She noticed that despite everything, Zero One could have easily taken her down by now, yet she didn't.

She was working hard, just not to hurt her.

"Why…! Why are you looking down on me…!"

Zero Three B fell to her knees, unable to change the facts before her very eyes.

The golden circuits began to spread through the gate, infusing her mother with the vaccine.
