Infernal Apocalypse [ LitRPG , Non-Human Lead, Lots and lots of Fire ]

179. Around Earth (Book Three)

Right after selecting yes on the prompt, new notifications immediately flashed across my face.

Planetary Lord position Accepted

Initializing…

I didn't have to wait long for whatever it was initializing to explain itself.

Planetary Lord: Raizen

System Cities Ruled: 1/13

Alert: Please establish Sovereignty over all Cities to officially become the Lord of the Planet

System Cities:

1. Black Cove City

2. New Earth Union

3. Cliffside City

4. New Antarctica

5. City of Hope

6. United Race City

7. Blue Water City

8. The North Pole

9. New Asia City

10. Valley of Red

11. The Gaia Empire

12. Little Earth

13. Garden of the Dead

Well.

This isn't very good news now, is it? It wants me to go conquer all of these Cities to officially become the Planetary Lord. That sounds like another war—only this time, it would be versus other humans.

Not too excited at the idea.

Then something came to me. I looked over at Elder Zal.

"Does Planet Infernal have a Planetary Lord?"

Would Infernals let someone else lord over them? Maybe it's like a council or something, and the strongest Patriarch or Matriarch gets the title for a term?

"No."

I guess I shouldn't have expected anything else.

Alright, fine. I have to take over all of those Cities. Maybe without the added members of my Clan, it might've been a challenge, but now there shouldn't be any problems. Perhaps I can do this without shedding a single drop of blood.

Though looking at some of those City names… The Gaia Empire? What an extravagant name.

POV Kimberly

Fuck, that black fire bastard was so damn scary. Who the hell does he think he is, just coming to someone else's backyard like he owns the place?

Dammit.

"Is everyone alright? That bastard didn't burn any of you, right?"

"I think I'm fine… and maybe don't call him a bastard so loud, Kim? I would rather not get turned to ash because of your mouth."

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

"I second that notion!"

"Whatever. I don't think he can hear us from all the way down there, and frankly, I don't give a damn. I'm already in a bad mood. Our City is basically fucked, and we still don't know what to do with that idiot.

"Our shop is gone, the bloodsuckers are gone, almost everyone died or ran away when the bloodsuckers showed up in force, and none of us are strong enough to even stop randoms from pulling up and doing whatever they want like Mr. Black Fire over there."

"Then why are we still here, Kim? Shouldn't we run away too?"

"And go where, Lisa? All the forests and mountains around here are filled to the brim with all kinds of beasts and whatnot. Who knows how many of the people who ran away are still alive?

"At least here we have sturdy structures built already.

"Do you know kno—"

POV Sergeant Johnson

"Alright, glad everyone is gathered. The merchant union has officially left, and the City is now ours.

"Which means things need to change slightly. New vacuums of power are now open, and a lot of resources and assets were left behind by them.

"This meeting is to discuss exactly who will take up certain positions, and how we plan on allocating all of those assets. Any questions?"

"We—"

"I'm assuming all of you got the same message I just got?"

Hm, all of them are nodding particularly nervously. Though I can't say I blame them.

"Then let's address this right now. All hands in favor of rising up against City Lord Raizen?"

No hands were raised. Good. If anyone disagreed, I would kick them out of the City.

"All hands in favor of submitting to his Rule?"

And every hand sprang up. Good. I chose smart people for this council, it seems. Though it doesn't take a smart person to realize any type of rebellion here wouldn't end well.

Simply put, that young man is scary.

"Glad to see all of you enjoy living just as much as I do. Before we continue, please send a group over to Black Cove City to let them know our stance and to let us know what we need to do."

POV City Lord Chambers

Ding! Ding! Ding!

"Slow your swings! The blade isn't going anywhere. It's a smooth dance, young Chambers. A smooth dance."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Didn't I tell you stop calling me Ma'am you little brat! I'm only 352 years old, don't make me throw you in the furnace."

352 years old and she's telling me to stop calling her ma'am. I should be calling her grandma instead, dammit—but she'd probably kill me…

Oh?

"Why'd your swing stop? Tired already?"

"No, just got a notification. It is saying something about the City Lord of Richard's City becoming the Planetary Lord of Earth, and I should decide between fighting him and submitting to him."

"Do whatever you want, but if you decide to fight him, then know that the Dwargon Federation will abandon you and this City in a heartbeat."

I knew right then and there that she wasn't joking. She was dead serious. Probably should have expected it—but I guess that really doesn't leave me with much choice here, now does it?

POV City Lord Tenzen

"What's the situation?"

"The forest is ruled by a herd of Deer. There's a strong chance the leading Buck of the herd has at least a Rare Core. Though it's hard to tell, as every Qi Puppet we send to scout is killed without fail."

Hm… that's quite troublesome. The Elders have decided to leave for some reason, so we no longer have any singular power above peak Qi Refinement. But the wildlife on Earth doesn't care about our growth.

"How is it handling the Death Qi that has been flooding into the forest?"

"Before he left, Elder Jaq mentioned that if anyone is exposed to such a large amount of the Qi of Death, then they would either die or adapt.

"It is believed that all the remaining beasts in the forest have adapted by now."

"…Yes… I know that. But is it thriving, Cecil? Is the leading Buck thriving amidst the Qi of Death that now surrounds it?"

"Ah, I understand, Sir. We—"

This… this is interesting.

POV Richard

"Well, when and where are you planning on building this district again?"

"No timetable for that right now. Like I told you earlier, just focus on gathering materials for now."

"We got other things to build, Richard. We can't just put stuff aside without any timetable for use like that. That's a big waste."

"Listen, it won't take that long for plans to be finalized, I promise. Just be ready when it's time, is all I'm saying."

"…Fine, I'll see what I can do."

"Good, it's a plea—"

"Well, damn it Raizen, you just keep giving me more work. We're good here, right? I gotta get some things in order for our precious City Lord."
